[Q] Best way to get my documents off of my Nexus? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

I've tried airdroid before but the files half the time end up corrupted. I just want to back up all my cbrs and pdfs I have on my Nexus so I can restore after a rom install. Helium doesn't seem to have that option. Nexus Root Toolkit ignored the folders - I guess it's because it's not in data\media

Cloud storage? MicroUSB SD card? MicroUSB to computer?

I ended up using Solid Explorer and a FTP connection - out of all the options I tried, this was the fastest and the most reliable

What about google drive or dropbox?

The ftp route worked the best and was faster than any other option could be. It was also over 5gbs so space would have been an issue

Mounting the EVO as a wireless drive on a PC?

Anyone know how I would go about mounting my EVO's sdcard on a pc wirelessly? Thanks.
bluetooth?
lol, yes that is a question
Bluetooth File Transfer from the Market works well for me, although obviously your PC has to have Bluetooth as well. I bought a cheap Bluetooth dongle for my laptop.

I just use dropbox. drop the file you want on your dropbox folder then go to your phone, find that then download it and your good
Drop box is a necessity that or sugar sync basically same thing. I use it for all my side loaded apps so they are always ready when I flash a new rom.

I use ftpserver on the phone and cuteftp on the computer.
Try SwiFTP, I think its what youre looking for.

why not use a2sd? (apps 2 sd)
Ive tried most of the solutions mentioned. I'm particularly looking to be able to access my EVOs sdcard either through a mounted drive or windows share wirelessly. Its important I can access it in this fashion because I work on computers all day and would like to be able to carry my drivers collection around with me. Its nice to be able to just point a machine to a drive share load the appropriate drivers. FTP, Dropbox and WebDAV solutions just to make this process efficient for me.
EStrongs File Browser is nice how it can browse PCs on the same subnet but I would like to do the same except browse my phones storage from the PC side via a share.
If you used something like dropbox you wouldn't need to use your phone at all just load up your dropbox with all of them and then just log on to the dropbox website on the computer you need the drivers.
I would think that anything that would make so you could wirelessly push files from your evo to a computer, would require a program or driver installed or a Bluetooth dongle, and that would take most of the point of away
you can always just carry around a usb cable and do it that way.
do a bluetooth file transfer, that usually works for me
try android desktop it is a small websserver on your phone it allows you to access your phone through the pc web browser. free from ao store. Blue tooth is fairly slow on large files. with the desktop you should be able to use the wifi or 3 g.

Data transfer

Jesus the "android file transfer" application is a buggy POS. Is there any other way to move files around?
WHat issues are you having? I'm not transferring files every day but its worked every time for me. I've had to disconnect/reconnect a few times but no biggie. Still faster than UMS.
You can just use WiFi file transfer if you don't wanna deal with it. Several apps recommended in this forum. Believe it or not, you're not the first person to ask
I use Davdrive as it lets me mount the disk via webdav and works perfectly. I agree that Android File Transfer is basura.

[Q] is there any way to connect sgs3 as a pc drive

I have been to many forum looking for a way to connect sgs3 as a drive on my pc not as mtp also I would like to recover delete files from phone internal memory. I tried easy ums but it is only for extsdcard.
For mtp this may work.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23880938&postcount=35
And as far as I know deleted pics can only be recovered from external but someone else may know better

Someone on here made an app called MASS STORAGE. Saves you from fumbling with scripts. You'd have to search though. It has to be GS3 specific.
I tried the UMS app and I don't recommend it. Barely works, very buggy, can damage sd card
There is another thread somewhere in here that has a link to a recovery app that may work. The description led me to believe it works on mtp devices but I don't remember where the thread was and I don't feel like trying to find it on my phone. Just use the search option. You aren't the first to ask this question.

samba filesharing from the market works great over wifi , adds the phone and mem card into networks on your computer

how to transfer titaniumbackup?

i made a tb from my droid 4..so how do i transfer that backup to my gnex properly?
i did once thru gdrive, and i only had like 1/4 of my apps, and there were only "?" marks for the backups.
im not trying to transfer system apps tho
Copy & paste the folder?
Adb push the folder?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
idk how to adp push..i googled it once, and i dont think that was what i was looking for. and if it involves a pc, i dont have one.
copy and paste was what i did..so no go.
thanks
i wonder if the tb file is to big to copy and paste esp thru google drive or a cloud storage
does the droid 4 have a removable sd card? if so, you can put the Tibu backup folder on the sdcard, and use an sdcard to usb adapter and a usb otg cable to transfer the files to your gnex. but you might have to be rooted to use an otg cable, i can't remember. i don't use mine too often.
Using a computer would make it a non-issue. You're sure there's no way you can access one?
ok thanks fella's
my gf has a laptop but i havent seen her in 2weeks because of my work schedule.
i will try to put my sd card in her laptop and transfer via usb from her laptop to my gnex.
but since these apps have never been installed on my gnex, will tb restore them on the gnex with out any problems?
You should transfer the entire contents of the titanium backup folder into the same directory on the Gnex. It's better if you let the app make one then overwrite it with the actual data.
so download the app, and then let the tb restore the data for that app?
if so, thats sooo time consuming esp with my work schedule. but i will if i have to.
whats up with the dropbox storage option for tb pro? how do i set that up?
basicly that option means, i dont have to have a tb on my sd card what so ever? just have one in dropbox?
cause that would be convienent to have one tb for 2phones, by just keeping one tb in dropbox.
i found my problem. it was saving app data instead of the app..lol
i dont know how or why

Transfer photos from S9 to PC via WiFi

Anyone have a fast way to transfer from phone to PC via WiFi?
I'm using ES File Explorer Pro and have set up a shared folder on the PC, it works, but it's slow, like 400kB/s for photos which takes forever

Thanks but I don't want any sync apps / programs, just a way to copy manually across via WiFi the same as I can with ES, but at a decent speed
I've tried those sync programs before and they're as annoying as iTunes
Everything I have found about SMB copying via ES has the same problem as I am having, not sure why as I am on 5GHz WiFi and it should be quick
It's not making sense though, if say I tell it to send 5 x images, it will run at about 400kB/s, if I try the other way around and copy from PC to Phone, it runs at upto 5MB/s
And if I copy the exact same way but to my NAS instead, it copies at 1.4MB/s

Yea I came across that yesterday, I`ll check it out thanks
I've tried about everything and always go back to just using either Dropbox or Google Drive. It's a 2 step process but I've found that I can almost immediately go to my other device and it will be available.
I use Total Commander with the LAN addon now, works perfectly, create a shared folder on PC, done
I'm using Droid over WiFi for this
