Rename Nandroid backups

Does anyone know if you can rename your nandroid backups, so you have a idea of what they are.
Didn't know if it would corrupt the file or if clockwork mod would choke on it.

Yes as long as you don't have any spaces in the name .... ie cm-7 would work but cm 7 would not

Rom manager with cm10?

Ok so rom manager came pre installed on cm10. I never used it on my old phone because of bricking stories. Question is, is it being used for ota updates for cm10? And is it safe for me to install cwm touch from it?

Rom Manager and this phone are not a conversation that is even taking place. But as far as the question CM is going back to their own "ota" system and while I am sure CM9 will get it as well CM10 will definitly have ut.
As far as this phone since we are not official yet I wouldn't worry about either at this time. Your updates are here.

Do not install CWM Touch recovery!!! That's asking for a brick. We have TWRP if you want a touch recovery. Aroma packages also give you a customizable touch interface for installing .

Thanks.. that's the answer I was looking for. Is there a flashable zip for the twrp. Recovery? And has it been used with cm10 before?

This phone has the recovery packed in the kernel, so you will be looking for a kernel+twrp or kernel+cwm. The recovery will change everytime you flash a different rom or kernel that has a different recovery packed with it. Some people, like me, use el26+cwm for recovery related things, such as wiping, flashing and backing up/restoring. However if you go this route you will need to locate an ics or jb kernel to flash to boot to your rom, if you aren't flashing a rom. You will need to flash a compatible kernel either before making a backup or after restoring a backup to make it bootable. I typically flash the kernel then do the backup so I don't forget to flash it after a restore.

Odin with root and clockworkmod

Ok I am not new to the forum but I am having issues finding Odin with root and cwm. I twice tried to flash the clean blue ROM in el26 and even from recovery on calk's 3.0 and doing full wipes x2. The ROM has gotten my phone stuck on the galaxy screen twice with no way to get to recovery but thank goodness I was able to successfully use download mode. If there is one on this forum.... Can someone please link me to a one click that has root and cwm? It is hard searching this using my phone for some reason. It would greatly appreciated! I am back to rooted EL29 but in desperate need of clockworkmod. This stock rooted stuff is killing me. I need my Nandroid backups lol. Please help. I'm sorry because I can sure this is in the forum but it's very difficult to find on my phone for some reason.

Boot into recovery.. Manually wipe (don't use the scripts) make sure you have a good download of the clean blue rom (by checking the MD5) and then flash away

Thanks! I do already have the EL26 Kernel... I really need a link to install a customer recovery. Had to start from scratch and now i'm in a area when the computer I have to user only stays on for ten minutes. I am rooted on stock EL29. Just need a one click or the e4gtauto link to get custom recovery.

Kernel and recovery are all on one on this phone. Can't have one without the other.

Same here... nothing like soft bricking in a place without internet and a half ass laptop! Translation... 32 gig external SD... now with full rooting tools onboard the phone! Thanks again guys

How can I check the md5 after downloading clear blue? Hope I don't brick for the third time. At a bad house to brick again lol. I won't use format all x2. I will do it manually and use either EL26 or EL29 since it has direct boot through mobile odin

If you meant that you flashed Clean Blue, you said clear blue before, I went to the OP and it says it's extremely debloated. Without flashing, I would guess that _dan removed the email app.
Not sure if it's a solution, but you could get gapps, edit and remove the apks you don't want/need and try adding it back that way. Or find the email apk and push. Might want to ask _dan as I'm not sure if it would work without reading that thread.

W.I.P. Rom(port) miracle whiz. Rooted, deodexed. Multiwindow

This rom is a port from the note 2 ota update. It is a stock touchwiz based rom that is a work in progress. I need testers who will give positive feedback and ideas for updates. This rom has not yet been debloated. As this rom gets tested and I figure out which apps is and which apps is not used in multiwindow I will start to debloat on future updates. This is my first rom and as of right now it is working on my AT&T galaxy s3. If you are with another carrier and try this rom and it works please leave comments saying what carrier you are with. This is a test version so im sure we will find things that dont work if so let me know and ill work on a patch or update to fix any problems. I dont mind answering any questions but please read the thread all the way thru. Its a waste of time to keep answering the same questions over and over...

Install instructions.... please read and follow step by step. If you do not follow directions to the letter then do not complain to me if your phone explodes, acts funny, or becomes a paperweight..
1. Download and copy the rom to your sd card.
2. Boot into recovery. I strongly recommend using TWRP especially if your sd card is in exfat format. Here is the link to the thread on XDA for the only version of TWRP to support exfat. The official TWRP on goo im will NOT support exfat on this version will. No version of CWM for the S3 will support exfat. I have read cases where both CWM and the official TWRP have recognized exfat cards but really screwed the flash up when attempted. So if you have exfat sd card and do not use the version below and end up with a bricked phone do not cry to me. It only takes a few minutes to download and flash the zip file in the thread below. Also the work in the thread below I take no credit for so go hit up

3. Dont be foolish or in a hurry. Take time to make a backup while you in recovery anyway. It only takes a couple of minutes and could really save you a great big headache later...
4.Format system, wipe data, (factory reset) wipe cache, then dalvick cache.. never ever dirty flash a phone. If you do not wipe everything do not cry to me when your phone dont work..
5. Flash the file you downloaded to your sd card.
6. Reboot. First boot will take some time so dont panic. Mine first boot took 5 minutes.
7. Enjoy...

From the search I just did this is a common problem with cwm on the s3. Error 6 means something is going on with your sd card. Did you download to external or internal sd? And is your external sd card formatted in exfat? If so cwm does not handle exfat. There is a version of twrp that can handle exfat and it is what I used to flash this. I hope someone using twrp tries this that way ill know if I got an upload problem or if its a cwm thing. Oh is your version of cwm the latest version and is it touch? I really feel this is a cwm problem or a bad upload. Did you happen to check the md5?

I might if dropbox keeps giving me trouble. You have built roms before what would cause error 6? From what ive read its mostly a cwm problem

PM me and we'll get it up on my goo. I have never encountered it but M0D said it could be a bad signature or bad update-binary. So check the updater script for syntax errors.

No problem. just remember that the 100% stock boot animations are in a weird format (because Samsung made it like that), as opposed to the bootanimation.zip located at /system/media that you will see in custom roms.
