I am a happy owner of an N7102 bought in China with 2 GB Ram and 16 Roma and screen 5.5 "HD. pefettamente The phone works, but I noticed that the internal memory is divided into 2 parts and a 2 GB the other 12 GB. the problem is that while the 2 GB partition is empty, the other is all full. How do I format the 12 GB?, or that is in the OS?

format it by using the 3 button combo. ie volume up + home + power .. and then you will see factory stock recovery... just choose the option factory reset and all will be fine..

Few weeks ago internal storage in my Note2 became very slow (especially write).
It includes both Data partition and Internal SDCard.
AndroBench shows very poor numbers (2 MB/s write and 58 IOPS).
I have tried to wipe the device, format all partitions in Recovery but it did not help at all.
What can I do?
You can do nothing, it's a prelude to SDS.

what rom ? how much free space u have ?
Plenty of free space.

Reverted back to official N7100XXDMC3_N7100OXXDMC2_N7100XXDLK7
so does the problem solved ?
No. It still very slow
Hy guys!
I used to have like 4 gb of internal memory,I installed some games and apps, changed the rom to CM 11(clean install) and now I have only 1.51 gb of internal memory.
Why is this happening?

U did a clean install....but your app data is still there in your internal storage(like obb files, data ,downloads,etc).... Backup what u need in that storage... in recovery again do clean install by "formating data/sdcard (data/media)"or something... not sdcard1... and then flash the rom...hope it helps u....very important.... Backup what files u need...which is in your internal storage!!

You haven't wiped the internal sdcard, go to settings, storage, you should see an option to erase the SDcard, tap that and reboot, then perform another factory reset.

Hi,
I've recently rooted my HTC One X (unlocked,...) Erased data and all, but i can't get all my storage... Memory in settings is showing 1 gb free of 5 gb app memory and I can't install any app, whereas the internal memory is free and has been erased as asked.
I have used factory reset, wiping data from CWM but the app memory won't get erased and still shows me 1 gb free only.
What to do to wipe EVERYTHING on the phone ?
Thanks in advance !!

You can't erase that space because it is used by system files, it's normal to get about 5 GBs used by system folders (/system, /data, /cache...)

Could you please elaborate further on what you mean by "6 gb stay ant i got only 10 gb free"?
Also if you are S-OFF/bootloader unlocked you can flash a custom recovery (in this case TWRP) and use the 'Format Data' option in Wipe. It will completely wipe your internal storage (pics music, etc all files not on sd card), and leave your /system in tact. If you want to remove everything including your ROM then you can do Format Data, then Advanced Wipe and tick /system, /data, /cache & Dalvik Cache and wipe them all.

Well that's only a problem if you have a 32GB phone. If you have a 16GB phone, how much free space did you expect to have if the OS takes up about 5-6GB? Another 64GB free?
Not, I mean when I wiped data I have only 10 gb free, where are another 6 gb?

The other 6GB are used for the system, like I said before.
They don't install the entire system on a single partition. The HTC One M8 has 47partitions on the device. How is going to clear the data inside the partitions going to resize the partitions as well? It'll be the same unless you specifically resize the partitions yourself.
If I have a disk of 100GB and I make 25 partitions using 3GB, I used up 75GB leaving me with 1 partition of 25GB to put on whatever. Now I fill up the 25 partitions(75GB) in total, does that mean that on my 25GB personal data partition I suddenly have -50GB available? If I clear out all the data on those 25 partitions, does that suddenly mean that I have 100GB free space on my data partition along with 75GB total over 25partitions? No...
It's the same concept here. HTC uses 47 partitions on the device, among those 47 partitions is a data partition(For example 10GB free? ). On the other 46partitions they flash things like Radio, recovery, boot, cache, the system(1GB+) etc etc. You don't generally use ANY of the space on those partitions for yourself, you only get 10GB from the data partition. So out of the 16GB internal storage they gave you 10GB for data(For example) and the rest they split up between the various different partitions. Those partition sizes already get deducted from the 16GB just like my example above. Even if you wipe them clean until the blue moon turns to Swiss cheese you still won't get back those 6GB, it's part of other partitions.
I hope I explained ok, anyone else that wants to jump in to add and/or correct feel free.

Already explained above, but the short answer:
16 GB is the total storage capacity of the embedded SD memory chip. It in no way means you will have all 16 GB available as user accessible storage. Its simply impossible. A chunk of the memory has to be used for the OS, as well as other purposes (the partitions mentioned in previous response). In particular, just the Sense OS takes up at almost 2 GB.
Around 10 GB user-accessible storage is normal. No amount of formatting is going to change that.
