Game was on sale for one dollar so I got it, download and installation went fine, but couldn't play, black screen with gameloft loading circle and it just keeps flashing and crashing. Any help? Purchased from Google play store and reviews say the same thing.

I also bought it for a dollar.. mine working absolutely fine..have u tried rebooting.. and I think for the first time it needs a net connection... if it still doesnt work ..then I think maybe some dile got corrupted while downlaoding.. uninstall and re install again
I don't what system language you use. Try changing system language to English and then run the game. It worked for me.

sim city is 1 of the games that's 10¢ today and I'm DYING to download it, but it says our phones are incompatible. anything we can do to change that before the sale ends? any mods or anything you can think of?
It's just you. I got it fine. Did you change your resolution?
No, never
even when I search the market from my computer, it says it's not compatible with my device

You're wrong, because I can't get it either. How can you possibly know it's just him!? It will install fine on my tablet, but won't even show up under My Apps on the phone.
I just loaded up market on my phone and Simcity Deluxe doesn't even show up.

I am rooted and I can't get it on my phone. I have bought it and installed it on my tablet, I am trying to copy the files onto the phone to see if it works.
I moved the APK onto the phone and installed it, but when it tries to download the 50 MB of data required, it sits there stuck at 0% complete forever.
*EDIT* OK, that worked. If anyone has a tablet or presumably another phone and you can purchase it on that, do so and install it, then let it download all the files. Then copy the .apk onto your E4GT (I used the free appsaver app from the market to back it up) and install it. Then browse to /Android/data/ on the first device and copy the entire folder called "com.ea.simcitydeluxe_na" into the same directory on the E4GT and voila!
Seems to be working fine here with that work around so far, not played it, but it loads up a scenario and lets me scroll around without complaining so far...
Any advice for those of us who only have access to one Android device? I'm playing with the build.prop settings to imitate some other device but nothing is really happening. This is turning into way too much work for a game that I probably won't even play.
Have the same problem with the football game that was for 10cents, not showing up fir the EPIC Touch

As the title says. Bug or do you think the game just needs an update since the Ion just came out in America?
What makes you say it's not compatible? I was just able to download it fine. Downloading the required files upon initial launch now. I'll let you know if it starts up okay.
Usually with Gameloft games when you start the game up it brings you to the screen to download the SD data, for me it says that it's not compatible and to ask for a refund. I had this game running perfect on an HD2, I don't understand what's going on with this...
Working fine for me. Did you get it through Google Play or the GL store?

Play Store
You think since I bought the game originally for my LG Nitro has anything to do with it? Could I get your SD data and see if that does anything?
When you went to the play store it said purchased right? Didn't have to rebuy it? I had previously bought it for my Xperia Play so I don't think that's an issue. Did you try rebooting after it initially installed before doing the data download?

Yep and no, I'll uninstall and see if that works.
Still no luck -.-
No idea WTF I did but I somehow got it working, downloading the SD data now!

Sweet glad it's working or you.
Something is wonky with game installs on the Ion .
I had a very similar issue with NBA Jam.
I downloaded from the Market. Tried to Launch and the Ion gave me an error message, then force closed.
I uninstalled, then dowloaded again, now it's fine.
Yesterday I had some apps that had new updates on the play store, so I started to update them.
I started seeing one wouldn't go through because it was giving "Package file invalid". So I tried over WiFi and same issue.
Got home and looked at my two tablets (Nexus 7-2012 and asus tf101) and they were having similar issues with updates, but different apps. I was also even getting download error #497. Sometimes just trying over and over again would work but now it seems like some apps just wont go due to the errors.
I tried clearing the cache/data of play store and download manager as google suggests, but that did not help. I've tried to use google's contact us form but I type this lengthy description of my issue and it tells me that I need to type more... (probably a glitch in their contact us form...) So I cant get something sent to them.
My girlfriend just got the S4 for sprint yesterday and now she is having the same issue, some apps wont download due to invalid package.
Is anyone else having this issue? Any suggestions on what can be done? Anyone think this is a issue on google's end?
Also, of my devices only the tf101 is rooted at the moment. Had some issues where I had to do factory restore on my GS4 and haven't rooted it again yet, and nexus 7 I kept reverted back to stock to get official 4.3
If they're system apps use a root explorer and delete them and install them again (if they're available on the playstore) if they're not then install them delete data and cache and remove your account and launch playstore and sign in and it should fix it... Remember if u delete an app with a root explorer you have ti reboot for it to take effect... And also fix permissions...

ive also been having errors with this. im on revolt 8/6 build and using PA gaps. but i have also tried with normal gaps, and get the same. its funny because it only happens with certain apps, and the apps that have the error change everytime i flash a different gaps. And yes, it even happens on newly installed apps.
Though to fix, i just turn off wifi and use data, its inconvenient but its a workaround until the actual problem is identified
Does anyone know how to stop the automatic update s in the play store?

I dont think that will work because if it happening across multiple devices with and without root then I'm thinking it's a issue on Google's end. Plus my phone is not rooted anymore.

go to play store, open menu go to settings and there is an option for auto update. I believe the default is to update over wifi only.
I was reading something earlier tonight (after having problems with 10.2 unofficial and getting error 497 with every file I tried to download) that Google was having problems with a few different ISP's and the Play store connections. Some people with the Nexus 7 (2013) were getting this error straight out of the box. Updates sometimes worked via Mobile network, but WiFi would fail with an error code or say package invalid every time.

Yeah, I just saw some articles on it finally. Sounds like everyone is reporting the same issue no matter what version of play store etc.
Use a VPN. Apps that refuse to update on my Wi-Fi network seem to update or download successfully if I use something like Hideman or Hideninja. I've not had problems with either. I can't vouch for their security, but Play Store reviews seem mostly positive for each. I use Hideninja VPN because it's free without time restrictions whereas with Hideman, you're limited to 5 hours each week and the shortest length of time you can activate is a 1 hour block.

I had read about using a VPN over the weekend, just needed to find a app to use. Hideninja did the trick and my apps all updated finally.
The hardest part was trying to download hideninja... it wouldn't download on my phone haha but luckily I have helium on all my devices and its set up with my google drive so it thankfully downloaded on another device.
Edit: Problem solved itself over time.
Hello everyone.
Like mentioned in the title the tablet only shows apps under my Apps in the Play Store, I downloaded or updated manually in the Play Store. It also doesn't show preinstalled Apps like Chrome,Gmaps or YouTube in the Application manager, unless I looked them up and manually update them in the Play Store. I had exactly the same problem yesterday with an Samsung Galaxy Trend (GT-S7560), but after some messing around and several restarts the apps suddenly showed up and everything worked fine then. Sadly I don't know what fixed it on the phone. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this problem? It isn't a huge problem, but with all the Android devices I set up, I never encountered this except with these two Samsung devices.
Many Thanks in advance!

Sorry forgot to mention that I already tried it, sadly, without success. It was one of the last things I did before it worked on the phone, didn't worked on the tablet yet.
What play store version do you have?

The problem solved itself again! Just as I went to look up the Play Store version (4.5.10 btw.), the apps appeared under the "All" category and in the Application manager, could update them and everything works fine now. Really strange that this occurred with two Samsung devices on two following days. Thanks anyway for your help!
Nice!!

I've been struggling with this issue for weeks and I'm hoping that someone here has an idea on how to help. On my Note Tablet, Family Guy Quest For Stuff is unplayable. The game developer says that it's an issue with the tablet because the error is memory related; Samsung says it's an issue with the app.
I used to be able to play, but a full battery would be dead in about 20 minutes. I searched around and people complained that the game drained the battery but there was no solution. After upgrading to KitKat, the game crashed every time I tried to visit a neighbor. Sometimes I got the error "std:bad_alloc". Often the game would just go back to the desktop without giving an error. I installed aLogcat and sent the log to the developer but they said that it didn't capture the data that they need. At the Play Store, when I filter this game's reviews by device type, I see that all of Note users are having the same problem. The game runs fine on my Galaxy S5 which is running the same version of KitKat as the tablet (4.4.2).
Does anyone have an idea of what I can try? I'm not rooted.
I haven't seen a solution yet and since the last two updates I haven’t been able to load the game at all. I used to play this game every day and now it just takes up space. If you ever do find a fix please let us know.
