Just released another live wallpaper. This wallpaper is tells how much battery you have left, voltage, temp and status. The spinning core will spin faster when you have full battery and slow down when your battery level gets lower. Also included are some particle effects. There's a few customization on the free version and more in the paid version. Its been optimized to use as little ram as possible and update cycles were slowed down to drain less battery. Tested on nexus 4, nexus 7, galaxy s2, galaxy s3 and lg g2x. Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 were my primary test devices so it should work pretty good on them. Check it out.
8-16-2013: Updated to allow users on the free version to get all features of the paid version by completing simple free offers. Download it for more info. Also, some bug fixes.

Thanks.
Installing also, love how it is themed to match the AOSP visually!

Paid version uses almost a third of the RAM per "Running Apps" section in Settings... awesome!
It's awesome.. But it uses too much of the cpu. I was surprised to see that after a few minutes of using the lwp, I suddenly saw it in the battery usage settings and it says that it's using about 7% of the battery.

That's weird. I've never seen it on my battery usage, not even on my nexus test devices. I truly put my test devices to the test when I develop on them. The only time I've ever noticed live wallpapers showing up on the battery use percent is when I just fully charged and rebooted or something like that. It probably only shows up cause I haven't done much on the phone

This might be a problem with the free version...I may have forgotten to change some code around. I know I had some last minute code changes...hmm...I'll need to look into it in a few days. Kinda burned out right now and I really dont want to look at any code for a few days.

I updated the app, thanks to some feedback. Should be available in a couple of hours. Heck, if anyone has any different core ideas, dont be afraid to tell me about. If its something I can create, I'll credit you with it.
New updated things:
* Move text to top of battery core
* Cleaned up settings menu
* Adjust glow effect color on battery core(paid version only)
* Glow effect of battery core changes color on low battery, user sets low battery point
Nice. It reminds me of iron man

I updated the app. Its should be more centered now. Also added in 2 new basic cores, nothing fancy. I'm hoping to get in much better look cores in the future.
awesome!! installing soon :good:
Published another update. This time I think the 2 new cores, Core Type3 and Core Type 4 are pretty cool. Also added in some more particle shapes.
It went up as my wallpaper the day you posted it and it never came down. Sweet!!
Added another update. I dont know if anyone noticed, but I managed to fudge cake Core 2 with the Arc Reactor in my last update. There's also been a slight design change. It was a difficult decision, but I think in the end its a better design. Plus, doing it this way, has increased performance on phones 1 year or older, not that the nexus 4 has any problems with it. Heck, I still think its pretty powerful...running 60 fps even when flipping through the home screen really fast...unlike the Nexus 7, drops a few frames.

Excellent! with heavy use of ~ 200 emails a day 1h on internet and about 30min looking up news and 1-2h of calls i get 12-16h.
I tried the best I knew how and I couldnt kill the battery for 2 days. I ran everything at once (not truly everything) and it just wouldn't die.

Battery is ridiculous. After diagnosing my wifi wakelock issue and installing jedi rom I get 4 hoursish per 1% when it goes into sleep, and that's in a basement mostly with horrible reception.
im getting worse battery life ever since the multiwindow update. not sure if anyone else has the same issue, but it seems like tmobile users are complaining about the same thing. it might be due to lack of battery calibration.
Well, here's a visual. Just achieved this impressive feat. 81 HOURS on pure battery! Almost 3.5 hours of screen-on time. I choose to not utilize my phone much over the holiday weekend, so that explains the low screen-on time. Regardless, I think these results are more than impressive. Nothing was restricted on my device. Live wallpaper going the whole time, auto screen brightness (usually a high setting), WiFi going, auto-syncing from emails to Facebook to Twitter, watched a bit of "The Dark Knight Rises" in full-1080p HD, made a bunch of miscellaneous phone calls. I am more than amazed at this phone and its battery. Haven't seen anything close to this in more than five years or so. These results are after updating to 4.1.2 with multi-window, and these are the best results I've ever gotten on this device.
On a side note, if anyone is getting results like the first poster with 8+ hours of screen-on time, it would really help if you described what you typically do with your phone and what you may have done to your phone. Just posting a screenshot tells nothing. You could be web browsing all day with your screen set to 20% brightness, and nothing more. What are you doing? Watching movies? Listening to music? Emailing? Texting? And if you're rooted that makes a ton of difference, so the results wouldn't be exactly truthful or accurate I should say.

Sorry for the lack of detail, I should have included that. I was browsing the net on wifi, playing Words, emailing/texting, various phone calls, watching youtube videos, and spending time on the XDA app. (of course)
I'm rooted and using clean rom 3.5. Auto brightness is on and I'm about 50% on the slider.
Here is where I sit today: (not much youtube though)

^^^ Thanks. So, that does change things, since you're rooted. The reason why I'm making a big deal about it, is because your results (and anyone else rooted) aren't typical results of someone stock. So a person not knowing any better would assuming they'd get your battery results from stock.
How is that possible? I use my note for about 5hrs of screen time and it's at like 3%. I am on an international rom and I undervolted along with perseus 1.8ghz kernel. Clean Rom 3.5, I also make sure and close out of anything I'm not using. I also use the ES Task Manager widget to clear my ram before I power down for any period of time.
That's about it, besides not having a ton of widgets running.
I didn't get much over six hours of screen time with my Jedi Rom, but in fairness to it, it was my first rom and I don't think I did it quite right, installing other things with it that probably weren't compatible.

Like Dr. Evo points out, one of the great things about custom roms is they get rid of all the bloatware from ATT and other carriers. Stock I was lucky to have 1gb of free ram at any time, now I'm always around 1.1-1.2gb free without much effort on my part.

if you didnt happened to read the article, it only improves performance by continuously invoking all cores at the highest clock speed available on your kernel. this IS NOT a good thing.
" the app is forcing the CPU to stick to higher clock frequencies due to the constant I/O use. For many users, the processor running faster offers a smoother experience at the cost of your battery. As many users began to notice, Seeder was causing otherwise full day smartphones to die in four hours."
I read the article a few times. What I got from it is if constantly on, we will see a significant decrease in battery? So, can this decrease the life of the processor or is is it strictly related to battery performance? If just battery performance, I would give that up especially in the evenings when my phone is on a charger when I catch up on all the forums and rom development or searching websites that run videos or load alot of pictures. I can see not using while mobile but if I have a charger readily available I would run this as I am now and seeing significant differences.

So it lowers battery life and thus you say it is USELESS? How about those of us with spare batteries who want performance and don't care about lowered battery life? We want our rigs to scream and this mod seems to help.
Hardly useless. Better to update your OP to say, "If battery life is your number one consideration then this may not be the mod for you, but if you want to phone to run at it's fastest and don't care so much about battery life, you may enjoy this ..."
Users can turn it on when they have access to AC power and turn it off when they are going to be away from the juice for a while.
there are easier ways of boosting performance at the cost of battery life.
Performance governor does the trick just fine. (or setting min/max to the same clock speed.

That's called the placebo effect. The app doesn't do anything beyond keeping your cpu at higher clock speeds.if you're already doing this, then is doing nothing for you.
Tapatalk is a network intensive application. Whatever performance gains you perceive, are likely due to network issues.
I think your quad core phone with 2gb of ram can handle tapatalk.

I don't have the Seeder mod turn on by default. The other day after changing out my battery I opened Tapatalk and noticed that it was loading a half page of threads and then hanging. I turned the Seeder mod on and it immediately started loading the entire page. I turned it off and again it lagged.
There is NO DOUBT WHATSOEVER that this mod is making at least certain apps run faster.

i say it is useless because it doesnt do anything you cant already do better. it's being marketed as if it is some new miracle program when it isnt. perseus at 1.8ghz w/ performance gov on will outperform this everyday, simply because the program is writing to your nand constantly, whereas, any kernel overclocked can do this without writing to nand. battery life wasnt really what i was talking about.
i pretty positive the continual writing/erasing of things from your nand is not a good thing and will significantly decrease the life of the emmc/nand on your phone as well as the life of your cpu.
I tried it and It works great on my one. I'm using icy snap 1.5 and it was little bit lagy but now 2x faster than before...

Actually, you don't. Even the most experienced developers can't tell if their own applications are running faster specifically due to any one thing just by running them.
To make a causal connection, you not only need to do proper benchmarks, but also understand why.
The mod does have a side effect of keeping your clock speed higher, which can speed up your device...but if you said you've already set your governor to performance, then the mod is doing nothing for you.
And again, tapatalk is a network intensive application. Whatever improvement you see is much ado with network congestion that anything this mod can do.
...but c'mon, really though...tapatalk is your benchmark? My evo shift can handle tapatalk without lag.
Any lag you see in tapatalk is network related. And any improvement you see in tapatalk is network related.

Oh well. I continue to be amused by the fact that individuals who are not in possession of my phone seem to know better how my phone is performing that I do.
Let me say it again. My phone JUST RUNS FASTER with this mod enabled. Period, end of sentence.
And you claim that SetCPU does exactly what this mod does if I set it at 1.8 performance? But you admit that this mod does it in a completely different way? So how do you know this doesn't add an extra benefit since it is doing something differently? You don't.
You keep talking about how tapatalk is network based and therefore this mod could have no effect. Did you consider that this mod may cause network data to be parsed faster and more efficiently? Image heavy web pages also load faster. The improvement is undeniable.
I promise you I will have sold or thrown away this phone long before the memory gets burned out.

Because it doesn't. It didn't claim to do that. It claims to do one thing and thing only: it keeps /dev/random primed. Read the description of the app.
As a side effect, it keeps your clock "awake" and at a higher level. This is equivalent to switching to performance governor...but doing so in a manual way. (Less efficient way)
I think that's the problem with your over confidence. You are so sure that it's working...You don't even understand what the app does.
And the app definitely has no effect on memory management. Priming /dev/random will do nothing of the sort.
Also,You may not have noticed, I have the same phone as you. Of course, it's possible the app doesn't work for non-believers.
Yes, I know your next argument...it's not placebo because this makes things just seem faster.
I can't argue against that logic, but causality is definitely against you.

I think I have the bugs have been worked out and should worked pretty good on the GS3 for sprint. This wallpaper tells you battery information. I like it, I'll roll the free verison to get a idea about battery life, if all is good I'll be purchasing the paid app.

What ROM are you running for those Icons I love them. if you could link me to them please?
App updated.
*PLEASE SHARE your experiences and RESULTS here in this thread. Do bear in mind it will take 3 or 4 days to find out though!*
''Snapdragon™ BatteryGuru is a battery life saver app that extends battery performance and improves overall user experience by intelligently making changes that optimize device functionality in phones with Snapdragon mobile processors. This app:
• Delivers longer battery life with fewer charges, acting as a battery life extender
• Intelligently learns how you use your Snapdragon-powered smartphone and optimizes your device without disabling smartphone functionality
• Requires no user configuration - Snapdragon BatteryGuru automatically learns and adjusts the smartphone settings so you don’t have to
After a brief 2-4 day introduction period, Snapdragon BatteryGuru learns the user’s behaviors and then notifies the user that it is ready to extend the battery life and improve the experience. Snapdragon BatteryGuru continues to operate in the background, deepening its understanding of the user and further optimizing the experience over time.''

The app seems a good for the average Nexus 4 user. I think. It certainly is polished
I'd like to know peoples experience and (improved?) results with this please. I can barely get out of the learning phase as I keep updating my device ROM so I know it will be frustrating/useless for many...
People seem to be very positive on reddit and elsewhere which is the only reason it's caught my interest. Beta results for some are impressive at least. Others less so. Hopefully posting some ACTUAL RESULTS here will be better than endless posts saying 'its great' or 'it's useless'.
Cheers.
waiting..
I read the reviews on google play, and I flash roms and kernels daily-- so I am holding off till more results are in or I stop this compulsive updating ..

What exactly does it do does it only change sync settings

I used this a few months ago. Did nothing. If you are looking for battery life, try a custom kernel

I used it while it was still in beta. Uninstalled it - no battery improvements seen. Re-installed it again today, will see how it performs. I use to manually disable what I don't need most of the times.

The principle? Why only Snaps then... If it uses their well-undocumented QMI stuff, the heavens may break loose, in principle again.

Seems incredible! Well, are you sure? My girls would say I'd be losing my weight, that might be an ounce, the Chinese battery charger.

Google what?
This app has been posted multiple times here on XDA. The general consensus is that it sucks or doesn't do anything.
I've given it a try twice. The last time I uninstalled it because it kept turning wifi on when I was nowhere near a router or hotspot. I'm pretty sure my battery life improved once the app was uninstalled off my phone.
I've been using this app for quite a long time (I think since the first day it came out as beta).
Works as it's supposed to, got the option to disable any sync (OUTSTANDING battery life), simple, minimalistic, doesn't bug.
The only complaint that I had was that before installing, an email from gmail would hit my phone a minute before it showed on my computer. After installing it, even with the use most battery setting for Gmail, there is a delay in notification. I have been using this since it came out as a beta.
Very good program. When it gets used to your preferences, saves a lot of battery.

...Perhaps it's because Gmail depends on sync and BatteryGuru controls sync?
