Hey guys, i have a ritorical question ) I have dinc2 with 2.2, gsm is locked there. Can i s-off it with alpharev and then completely unlock it with xtc when it will arrive ? Will xtc work with patched boot ? Thank you for any input.
I'm pretty sure you would be fine doing that, but why didn't you just get an unlock code from Verizon?

Generally they make you wait till the phone has been in service for a while. Also if you get an unlock code from them, they wipe insurance and warranty from the line. At least that was the policy when I worked for flextronics

Just wonder if S-OFF means SIM unlocked, since when we S-OFF HTC inspire, it will also be SIM unlocked

I don't think this is correct, although I could be wrong so don't hold me to this!!
I thought the only way to unlock SIM was using XTC clip.
Again, sorry if this is wrong!!

Before we had a "software" root which is done on the computer, the only way to root the inc2 was with an"XTC clip" this gives a FULL NAND un-lock and is irreversible, so once you have s-off you're stuck with that, un-like the software root that later came u can turn back to s-on.
but yet XTC clip is something you must buy, or pay someone to "use"

ive actually been looking for a free way to unlock the sim without calling verizon as well
will the original rom (with root added) work globally....id assume it would but you know what happens when you assume lol
edit: after a bit more searching it looks like there isnt a way to unlock w/o the xtc clip, verizon or paying

Yes. That's why all the global enabled ROMs (sense based) are all based off of the stock firmware so global works well. SkyRaider is the best example of this. It's stock firmware with sense 3.0 stuff added to it.

Hey lucky One X owners,
I searched, but didn't find any thread with this subject, so I'm sorry if already exists one...
Did anyone tried method 1 on this thread to SIM unlock the One X?
Thanks for your answers
I gave it a go but my device outputs nothing, so method 1 doesn't seem to work, I can't try the ADB method as I'm at work at the mo

Now I must decide if I'll buy an unlocked one that will cost more, or a locked one and find a cheap way to unlock it
Thanks for your help
Go for the unlocked version. The price difference probably isn't worth it

well, I finally bought my One X (arrived 2days ago) but the best deal I found was with a sim locked one.
I should followed jmpmjmpm advice because now I can't find a code to unlock it...
I tried on this 3 different sites and so far none of them was able to provide me an unlock code...
http://www.mobileunlocked.co.uk/
http://cellphoneunlock.net/
http://www.cellunlocker.net/
Has anyone manage to unlock a HOX already? Where did you bought the code?
Thanks
EDIT: Finally I get it unlock!!
After 22h cellunlocker manage to provide me an unlock code.
So if someone is in the same situation, give them a try

The phone will work, but you might just have to carrier unlock it unless your seller has already unlocked it.

If its not unlocked, u might have to unlock it. I bought an unlock code from unlock fusion for 1.69. Had the code in about 2 hours n I can confirm it works.

hi - i have a htc one x locked to orange uk, its totally original phone and never has never been rooted or modded before, i purchased an unlock code and the seller is 100% sure thats its the corrrect unlock code for the phone but it doesnt work, after several times of trying the code it still says " unlock code ir wrong".i thought perhaps unlock code was wrong so i bought another from another seller, it was the same unlock code....phone still obviously wont unlock...is this a deliberate ploy by orange to stop people using other sims in their phones.. I also have reset the phone to factory settings and tried with diffrerent sim like gif gaff, vodaphone etc but still remains locked and wont accept the unlock code. I have no reason to doubt the seller. im in the uk. Ive read somewhere that it may have something to do with the radio.zip whatever that is. To be honest im totally new at this modding lark so would be greatful if someone could walk me through this problem or help me in some sort of way. i would like to use my tesco sim in the phone. Thanks
Get the unlock code from orange/ee whatever it is called now.

That's the same reason I didn't get mine unlocked through T-Mobile (greedy @$$€$!) Got mine on eBay and it worked perfectly first time.
If the code isn't working for you and you got the same code from 2 sellers, it looks like your out of luck mate and you'll have to give your greedy network the money.
