[Q] SIM unlock - HTC One X

Hey lucky One X owners,
I searched, but didn't find any thread with this subject, so I'm sorry if already exists one...
Did anyone tried method 1 on this thread to SIM unlock the One X?
Thanks for your answers

I gave it a go but my device outputs nothing, so method 1 doesn't seem to work, I can't try the ADB method as I'm at work at the mo

Ok, thanks for the info
Now I must decide if I'll buy an unlocked one that will cost more, or a locked one and find a cheap way to unlock it
Thanks for your help

Go for the unlocked version. The price difference probably isn't worth it

well, I finally bought my One X (arrived 2days ago) but the best deal I found was with a sim locked one.
I should followed jmpmjmpm advice because now I can't find a code to unlock it...
I tried on this 3 different sites and so far none of them was able to provide me an unlock code...
http://www.mobileunlocked.co.uk/
http://cellphoneunlock.net/
http://www.cellunlocker.net/
Has anyone manage to unlock a HOX already? Where did you bought the code?
Thanks
EDIT: Finally I get it unlock!!
After 22h cellunlocker manage to provide me an unlock code.
So if someone is in the same situation, give them a try

Well my Mrs is getting her upgrade tomorrow (HTC One X), but I'm guessing its going to come locked to ORANGE UK network.. I'm in THREE UK network.. So my Sim card wont work in it... right?
I need to try & get it unlocked to all networks... or I'll just have to sell it.

With a little patience, perhaps some clever people out there may come up with methods like they did for the desire and the sensation.

Root options

Hi guys,
I bought a One x a couple of days ago. I had a htc Desire before, my question is are there root posibilities like using a Windows program to root? If not will be there a program to root the One x without needing to unlock it with the site of HTC.

Unlocking is only possible by using htcdev at the moment

Thats what i mean. Now you have to unlock the phone using htcdev. But will there be another method to unlock the One X? Because of the warranty issue using htcdev.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA Premium App
I've been thinking of warranty issues as well. I'll wait a bit more, maybe someone releases a root method not involving HTCDev, but I believe it's quite unlikely. Let's hope when they get S-OFF, they won't be needing the HTCDev unlock to do it

Warranty UK

I have a one x two year contract with Vodafone UK. Correct me if I am wrong but if my phone goes faulty within the contract period is it Vodafones responsibility to repair/replace it. For this reason is it not likely that the boot loader will never be checked for locked/unlocked status, hence it is safe to htcdev unlock

they would have the right to check...

And if they send it back to HTC to be repaired? I read on the Vodafone forums that they did sometimes. Also they will be quite aware of HTCdev unlock. Its a right get out for them to use along with their favourite "water damage" excuse. Ive unlocked mine but i wont send it back if i have a problem, ill use my insurance.
from my experience with the one x and vodaphone staff they wouldnt have a clue one of them told me to to a system reboot and then i would need to connect it to a pc as she had wiped the rom i said oh thanx for the help and hung up not very savy when it comes to the one x defo not

phone support staff are not the same as tech/repair staff. vodafone may even send it to a subcontractor/htc for repair or further tests who would be capable of checking such things

What insurance do you use. Do they repair, send a cheque, or replace the handset

Its with my bank now and ive not used them yet. It used to be with Vodafone and they used to just replace with a new handset if it was beyond repair.
I´ve been reading, how to root, and it says you will lose, alter CID, so that´s an easy way to check if you unlocked the bootloader..
My question is, locking it again and run the RUU will get the original CID back?
And if so htc will not know it´s was unlocked in the first place?
thanks
Only problem is that it will say relocked rather than locked. There was someone who managed to get it back to locked apparently

I just decided to go for it and ditch the warranty. If I bricked the phone, there are loads of ways to fix it on here.
My only worry is I'd bring it to Vodafone and they would notice the CoreDroid custom icons.

In the 1st 6 months the seller must prove you caused the fault before denying a remedy. After 6 months its vice-versa
Unless they can demonstrate unlocking caused any issues, you're covered by the Sales of Goods Act

[Q]Network unlock

Is there any free way to unlock my one x to all networks? I've unlocked my bootlaoder?
Apologies if I'm hijacking. If it can't be unlocked for free, where is the cheapest place to get an unlock code?
I'm considering trading my Galaxy Nexus for a One X which is network locked to Three
As far as I am aware you will need to pay there isn't a free unlocking service out at the moment.

htc one x wont unlock

hi - i have a htc one x locked to orange uk, its totally original phone and never has never been rooted or modded before, i purchased an unlock code and the seller is 100% sure thats its the corrrect unlock code for the phone but it doesnt work, after several times of trying the code it still says " unlock code ir wrong".i thought perhaps unlock code was wrong so i bought another from another seller, it was the same unlock code....phone still obviously wont unlock...is this a deliberate ploy by orange to stop people using other sims in their phones.. I also have reset the phone to factory settings and tried with diffrerent sim like gif gaff, vodaphone etc but still remains locked and wont accept the unlock code. I have no reason to doubt the seller. im in the uk. Ive read somewhere that it may have something to do with the radio.zip whatever that is. To be honest im totally new at this modding lark so would be greatful if someone could walk me through this problem or help me in some sort of way. i would like to use my tesco sim in the phone. Thanks

That's the same reason I didn't get mine unlocked through T-Mobile (greedy @$$€$!) Got mine on eBay and it worked perfectly first time.
If the code isn't working for you and you got the same code from 2 sellers, it looks like your out of luck mate and you'll have to give your greedy network the money.
