[Q] few rom questions - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I have the verizon Note 2.
I'm wondering with the new android 4.2.2 is worth having over what comes with the verizon Note 2.
If is worth having, can anyone point me in the direction with it, and pretty much all the programs that come with the Note 2 just with out all of the verizon bloatware. If its not worth having can some one point me to one with the android version that comes with the note 2, but same thing as before with all the samsung apps, just minus the verizon bloatware.
I'm not new to loading custom roms, just new to the note 2.
Thanks for your time.

Must be new to XDA ..... This is the sprint note 2 forum .... post in the Verizon once and you may get a good answer

You can only have one either record or swap but not both

Screen record function

Any status update on this feature,I could really use it one of the main reasons I bought the device, that plus LTE will make this device simply PERFECT x !

Would love to see this feature too! What's the status?
Im lost, when you say screen record function, do you mean screencast (or the like) or soething else

Its a feature on the Note 2 (Similar to Screencast, but for the Note 2),
You can record tutorials, and other stuff to show to other people. This feature is currently on the International Note 2.

don't think international has it either, but it was advertised. anybody has the feature?

I think this feature is controversial because of DMCA. As a result US Carrier Note 2's don't feature this and won't feature this for a while. If Samsung was so keen in putting this feature in the first place, they should have limited it to a few seconds or something.

I have to disagree because screen record shouldn't have anything to do with DMCA and I find it odd Samsung would advertise a feature that wasn't allowed in the USA. If so they should have mentioned it would not be accessible for our model, not to mention the DMCA existed before this feature was enacted so why lie about its availability if you know prior to release the limitations presented before you? I can still put my phone into debugging mode and connect to usb to show my screen on my computer then simply record the screen actions from there. This feature just made it easier.....hopefully we get an answer so we can deal with the answer I hate being ignored I've asked T-Mobile and Samsung and never get a straight answer it's always a bi reply

I read somewhere that carriers were not allow to enable this feature on our Note 2's because of copyrighted issues. I know it doesn't make sense because our computers can screen-record as well. What Custom ROM has this feature? It sucks when Carriers eliminate features and / or charge for features when they come standard with the international version free-of-charge (for example; WiFi Tethering).

I meant the International Note 2 is suppose to have the Screen Recording function.
If not, I suggest using Screen-cast.

More comfortable?

So the Samsung guy paid a visit and brought the AT&T version of the S4 with him...my question is: Is this better than our Note 2? I don't mean internally or as far as screen. It does everything the Note can do and more without need of a stylus AND has Multi-Window, all in a smaller package. Is this the ultimate device in terms of power AND comfort? I, like many, have that nagging obsession of buying everything that comes out...so I will get it. How about you? Would u switch because of the S4's much smaller size?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
The main reason I bought the note was the size. Would never get another phone simple for a smaller size.
So anything below 5.5" is too small? My S3 feels tiny in my hand after using my Note and the fact that everything is smaller on the screen doesn't help either. I wonder how much of a difference it'll be between the Note screen and S4 in everyday use.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
I would stay with the note, mostly because I'm used to it now lol. But I would go to the s4 mostly because of 4.2.2 on it

Ohh hell no!!! I would never switch to an S4,I'm very happy with this beast of a phone.
Just like the wise man said YOU COULD NEVER STAY UP TO DATE WITH TECHNOLOGY).
EDIT: just an fyi, there is a sticky thread for phone comparisons especially the s4.

I to am still in love with with my note. Even if the S4 is greater than or equal to note 2 I will keep my note. I have actually come to enjoy the stylus and would miss it if it were gone.

New to the Note 2 Family

Hello everyone its been awhile since I have been on XDA (college,Full Time work etc etc) but just wanted to share my excitement that Monday I will be buying my new Note 2 and just wanted some feedback on how you guys have been enjoying the phone, or not depending on the case. It will be a big jump for me in terms of size(Currently use my Evo 3D) but I have big hands so it might not be a concern hopefully. It was the Galaxy S4 or this one and the specs are nice but the battery life from what I have heard on the Note 2 is a deal breaker for me. Also I hope to bring some roms/themes to this phone like I have done in the past(back in the OG days of Sammy's Epic 4G hah
Welcome aboard and I can almost guarantee you will love this phone ...

Ha! You're just like me! I too came from the evo 3d to the gn2 back in October and I've never once regretted my pricey decision! You will love it!

Same here. Came from Evo 3d in December. I actually put down my 3d and used a nexus s 4g due to getting so many bad refurbs. Glad to make the jump though.

Coming from the EVO 4g lte, and could not be more pleased. Always a few things that could be improved on, but haven't had this much fun with a phone in a while.

Thank you very much. Of course im going to root it and what not but from what i've heard many people choose to leave it stock simply because of the many features the stock os uses, mainly the s pen features. And that brings me to my first question: Do the S Pen features work in other roms as well as they do stock?, or are things changed?

All tw roms have the same if not better spen functions as stock unrooted/rooted rom. The aosp roms dont use the spen features that tw roms do, but its still usable with apps from playstore.. ie papyrus etc

With or without rooting, Note Buddy (formerly s-pen helper) is a great tool for the s-pen and may solve some issues if go asop

just bought 2 note 2's for 19.99 on amazon and me and the wife are loving them! Wish I could unlike the "sim" to work on GSM networks for a good laugh

Who's planning on upgrading from note 2 to 3 ?

Now that we have plenty of info on it do you plan on upgrading and why ?
I thought I'd want my note 2 for three years atleast but the upgrades on the note 3 makes it certain that I'll be upgrading to it in January after some changes are made to our phone contracts in Canada (switch from 3 to 2 years). As it's cold here I believe being able to use the spen on the back/menu buttons is great without needing to take my gloves off. It's smaller but bigger screen. Better battery life considering the new radio which uses less energy. I just wish it was waterproof and dusty proof but I'm sure the note 4 will have that.

You know there's a device upgrading thread already. Found HERE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187272
So most likely this will be closed..
FYI using the back and menu keys with the S-pen already exist ok. It's called Pie..
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 4
I saw that thread. Went in and nothing useful is going on in there. It's just thrash talk. And I have seen pie control all over but I'm more into native support. Regular apps are not usually good for key features.

CM12 for AT&T Note 4 ETA??

Ok I just got the Note 4 and I honestly hate Touchwiz I wanted the Nexus 6 64 but couldnt find it. Had a One Plus and it fell apart within a week but I love Cyanogenmod its way better than Touchwiz when is it coming out? Why is nobody else talking about it?

well sorry. but people have been talking about it. however if you look at the forums you would know that att and verizon version of the note 4 has a locked boot loader which prevents rooting. so unless you have the t mobile note 4 right now you are stuck on a stock phone hope you enjoy it more then the one plus
