[Q] Htc One X 16Gb Gray - The noise from the external speaker - HTC One X

Hi all!
I was given Htc One X 16Gb Gray
He has a problem when playing music after a short time speaker (external) starts to make noise. In headphones sound plays fine. Tell me, who had the same problem, it can be solved in software, or is the problem the speaker?
Thanks in advance!
P.S.>Telephone in stock from the store. Not rooted and unlock bootloader.

It's likely a hardware problem.
To be sure, do a factory reset. If the problem isn't fixed after reset, it's a hardware issue.
Hold volume down and power buttons until you get to bootloader screen.
Using volume buttons, navigate to factory reset and press power to confirm.
(Note: your personal files will be wiped)

Had the same problem, sound coming from external speakers sounded distorted.. Handed in my device at a HTC service center and it was fixed quickly, all under warranty Never had the problem again *knocks on wood

Yes, the problem was actually in the hardware. Change phones in the shop for a new one.
Thanks to all for the tips!

Power Button Not Working!

Hey Guys,
My Power Button is not working anymore...
Therefore the only way for me to power off my phone is using the battery pull method, yes i know...that's just super ghetto.
Anyways, I was planning on opening my phone for a number of reasons, mainly curiosity and attempting to tighten my hinge which has become particularly loose over the past week.
I have consulted the guides in the forum on how to do this, so i am pretty much prepared to do so.
Is there something that I can specifically look for that is causing the power button to not be functional in my phone where I can go inside and perhaps adjust something and fix it.
ex. flex cable such as the one for the touch panel and led.
On a side note: My in-ear speaker seems to also have some problems, for it does not output sound as loud as it should. It is very faint, however the external speaker and the usage of headphones is fine.
Any Solutions?
Thanks in advance bros.
this isn't much help but, out of curiosity , how do you turn your phone on then if your power button doesn't work?
battery out and in lol...
the phone ends up booting up so, yeah.
the annoying part is that I want to install ROM's and stuff but without a functional power button I don't think I will be able to do that .
I am trying to look for some sort of location within the phone that is responsible for the function of the button which is connected to the digitizer/lcd.
Hopefully it is replaceable...
Your phone boots when you put in the battery, without you having to press the power button?
Sounds like you have some serious hardware issues. If your warranty is still in effect, you should send it for repair or replacement. If you open the phone and void the warranty, and you can't fix the problems, you're screwed.

If your rooted and using clockworkrecovery this is a known issue but it will take effect after you plug in your phone for charging

The misunderstanding is that you failed to mention that your phone is plugged into the charger when doing the battery pull.
Open up your phone, fix the wire, reconstruct than test.
LOL man that's funny what happens when ur phone dies how do u get it back on.......do you think the rom ur using is causeing the problem and you also don't need power button to install new roms just click install from sd card in rom manager

Does anyone know how to fix the volume buttons when they get stuck. My volume down keeps on being a problem. Just randomly muting and booting into safe mode when it turns on. It's also hard to press

have the same problem
same problem here. seems like a simple problem, but makes the phone totally useless.
rather strange how suddenly this problem arises with 3 different cases in just 3 days.
For me its definately a hardware issue. The phone had blatently been dropped as there was some damage there. It wasnt even clicking when I pressed it. I seem to have got it to work again now but Im going to try find a spare part for it in case it happens again although finding one seems to be an issue.

Try using an RUU to restore it to stock. Remember, you need a locked bootloader for it.

Well it started working again all of a sudden. Shall update if it comes back again.
Well it's doing it again. To flash the RUU could I do it in the stock mode by rebooting it into boot loader. Does it boot into boot loader by pressing the volume rocker button?
Thanks...

[Q] After 1 year; things started getting crazy

So after about 1 year and 1 month of owning this phone, this phone started getting crazy.
First the wifi started messing up, I barely get 3 bars when my phone is taped to the router.
Now the bottom buttons don't even work, when I click them they start clicking around crazy like opening a text box or selecting an option.
I lost my warranty sadly and don't know what to do. I don't mind the wifi I just want the buttons to work
.. Well..

Hi
I (and I unfortunately thing We) can't help you this way.
Maybe you can give me some information about how you took care for this phone.
Did you ever drop it..? Did you install some new firmware/kernel..?
I'm about to help you, but unfortunately I can't because I don't know what's the problem.

All stock no new software update since like 4 months (checked for a new one doesnt exist)
My phone has always been in a cover safe etc, taken care of no water 100%
What happened is the home button/back/recent apps just stopped working when ever I click them nothing happens except for an option on the main screen being selected as if I touched that option
All lights on buttons work
Well try a factory reset from the bootloader, but be warned that it formats the whole phone ! For safety also backup the sdcard !
As Mr. Hof says, try doing a full factory reset via bootloader.
If you don't know how to access the bootloader:
1. Turn on your phone, at least at the bootscreen
2. Hold down the POWER-button and the Volume-down-button for about 15 seconds, so that the buttons are flickering and keep holding until you see a white screen with at the top : **LOCKED**
3. Go to Factory Reset with the volume keys to navigate and the power button to select.
I hope that helps for you!
Let me know!

HTC one x doesn't have an external SD card so how do I back up my contacts/music/apps? do I just copy the folder "Internal storage" from my computer > HTC one x?

will give it a shot
If you do a factory reset, you will only lose the things that are on you Phone, and thus not on your Internal SD card. But, make sure you got everything you want to keep what's on your phone is on your Internal SD card. I recommend using ASTRO File Manager to manage your files, and copy it to your internal SD card, which ís accessable by connecting the device to your computer, but I believe if not, you first have to install an HTC Driver.

By the way!
The Wi-Fi problem occurs at many HOXs! It's a hardware problem. Try squeezing on the back of the phone between the camera and the volume button. If the Wi-Fi will become stronger, you've also got this problem, at least, I have. You can fix it by opening your phone (voids warranty) and placing a piece of aluminum foil on the right place. Go and search for a tutorial on YouTube or so. I can't help you with hardware, I'm sorry!

Watch out with what you write, there have certainly been reports of wiped sdcsrds after a factory reset. That's why i recommend them to always make a backup. Believe me, i know what im talking about here......
Oh, I actually did not know that. I'll check out some more forums before I post more, to prevent mistakes! Thanks for saying!

Doesn't HTC have a two year warranty?
In Holland they do, i'm sure.
Had my Sensation repared under warranty after almost two years.
Had to send it directly to HTC.
I'm also from Holland, and you're right. But I don't know if this counts for all countries. Guess not.

Something are repaired by factory reset like Mr hoffs said just back sdcard ...then do a factory reset then you can setup all back and if its all not repaired then you have to send it in...as your phone is locked and you didn't flashed any Rom etc they should repair without charge.....
