Hi, yesterday my desire just randomly powered off by itself after I flashed defrost 4.2. The phone became extremely slow (took 5 min to get into recovery and 10 min to get into system loading screen, and the animation appeared To be extremely choppy) . I was able to get into the system but it was basically in an unusable state and the system process keeps fc.
In recovery, the trackball responded to my clicking but scrolloling did not work. After messing around in the recovery console,I was finally able to fix the issue by wipes, reflashing my radio and rom. The trackball is fully functional again. I tried open desire and pinky desire, headphone jack doesn't work. When I plug in my headphone, the sound just plays out from the speaker. The camera apps give me black screens with the 4 corners of the screen appearing yellow. Is my phone broken? If anyone else had the same experience please share :'( Thank you.
I got my desire from Telus. I have HBoot 0.83 and my baseband version is 32.43.00.32U_5.09.00.20.

This sounds like an issue with the radio not flashed correctly or the incorrect radio version for the rom.
Can you pelase confirm which radio version your using?
Thanks
Yep, at 99% you have a bad flashed radio ROM or an incompatible one. Try downloading and flashing the last one:
http://android.adamg.co.uk/bravo/radio/32.47.00.32U_5.10.05.23.zip
Please pay attention on how a radio ROM have to be flashed starting at point 7): it's the only action that's able to really brick your device if not properly performed.
Cheers.
Thanks for your replies! Now I feel really reassured as I was going to try to exchange for a new phone Unfortunately I did everything right and it is still not working. I noticed that sometimes I go into recovery and the LED flash for 1 second for some reason. And also after I flash the radio, there is a process bar but it always stay at 0% before the system restarts.
RUUed, still not working. Although I exchanged a new one from Telus
I have been using the HOX for over 2 months now but this morning my phone display suddenly doesn't turn on even the backlight key still on and touchscreen still work ( when I sweep my finger up the unlock sound still play, and I can even adjust the volume of the phone, etc... ) I have no ideas if this is a software or hardware problem and how to solve it, I'm still on Stock Rom, Stock Kernel,... Please help me
try to reboot pressing power button for 10 seconds, if it'll not work, it can be hardware problem, as i understood you haven't unlocked it, so you can send it to htc and they will repair it, or if you can, you can change it by yourself,
have you tried starting in bootloader and factory resetting?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Really weird, it feels like the phone has woke up but the display still "think" that it still in standby mode
Hardware fault for sure.
Same Problem
Hey, ive been using my international HTC One X for about two months too now and there have been no problems. ever since the update to 4.0.3 ive been facing exactly the same problem. The screen does not turn on a lot of the time but the touch is active. Have you found any solution to it?
It would be great if you could help me out.
Thanks

I have the same problem now. Using it completely stock, the screen doesn't turn on. Well.... Except for the times I visit the Vodafone shop to get it fixed....
Their first reaction was a defect in the screen, so they ordered a new one. I brought it yesterday again and it is now in for repair.
I don't know if this will solve the problem. How did they fix yours?

hey guys
I had this problem a month ago, i know its frustrating.
anyway the only solution is factory rest from boot loader and flash RUU (worked for me)
the first time i had it, i did a factory reset, all my pics music were gone, phone went back to normal( stock, locked)
after a day the problem appeared again, second rest.
flashed RUU and the problem is gone. thanks god i have been using my HOX about a month science that problem and every thing is working great.
im sure its a software issue and I recommend every one to back up their files(pics, music)
just flash RUU and good luck
Lol, exactly the issue I had recently had with mine. Sent it backto htc, let's see what they would do about it.

My colleque has the same issue with his One X.
It started with suddenly everything on his screen looking "zoomed in", so everything double size, looking ugly as a mofo, and not usable. After locking the sceen and unlocking again, it was fine.
Monday suddenly also screen didn't want to turn on anymore. Did the hard reboot for him, and it worked again... Untill he locked his screen and wanted to unlock, same issue.
Also, that time when doing the hard reboot, screen didn't turn on at all. Did another one, and worked again.
He's now sent it in for repair, this definately sounds like ahrdware issue, even full reset through bootloader didn't help.

Yup, exactly the same problem I'm having, I sent it to HTC, they said they fixed it by replacing the motherboard, but now it is happening again, I will have to send to HTC again.
This just happened to my phone... Has anyone else solved it? Is reset and flashing RUU the solution?

I have the same problem right now.
It started last week when I was using Flipboard and suddenly everything started zooming in and stuff (same as mhulsegge above). It was resolved by locking my screen and unlocking it.
Last night, i've been getting the black screen when I try to unlock my phone. The touchscreen still works but the screen is just blank. It turns on if I keep locking and unlocking, but it's getting annoying.
My phone is an international One X (duh) bought in Hong Kong and I'm currently living in Canada so it would not be possible to send it back for repairs. Plus my phone is rooted and I am currently using the latest MIUI ROM (2.9.21). I have been using an app called "Sleep" which tracks your sleeping patterns. It requires you to place your screen face down on your bed when you sleep and the accelerometer will track your sleeping patterns and wake you up at the most optimal time. I assume that for the accelerometer to work the screen has to be on, so I am wondering if this can be a screen malfunction (overheat or overuse) problem since the screen has been on for so long (every night when i sleep for around a month).
Since sending it back is out of the question for me because of where I am living right now and I have voided my warranty, I am downloading other ROMs as we speak and seeing if it is a problem with my ROM. I will keep you guys posted.
-edit- I have tried factory reset and reinstalling my ROM (with a full wipe). Still doesn't work.
It´s probably not your rom since I use CM10 hand have the same problem and others have even been running stock and had this problem. The only one who seems to have solved this (at least in this thread) flashed RUU, so guess I´ll go try that now...
Would be great to hear if anyone else has solved it, and how!
edit: This has to be a hardware problem, if I push on the screen it starts working! Its like something is loose, and when i press on the screen it gets connected again.

Good tip, but I tried a gentle two-fingered push (zoom pinch) and the backlight turned itself on with very little pressure, certainly not enough to flex the screen. I believe that it is a state issue related to zoom, but will try again and report if the issue returns.
Screen black after replacement lcd display unit
Hi,
My HOX touchscreen was broken, the touch and everything was still working. I ordered a replacement lcd display Unit and replaced the complete display and touch. After replacement the screen is completely black but the phone still works. The touch buttons on the bottom still work and i can use the volume buttons. I replaced the lcd display unit very carefully and i am sure nothing is broken etc. So the touch is working but the screen is black. I tried 2 display units and both show me a black screen.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Did i forget to do something during the replacement?
Please, i need some help with this issue.
OneX has too much issue with Screen . WTF with HTC?

What happens when you plug the phone in? Does the green/orange led light up? If it does what color? Best case scenario, you have a bad cable or a bad adaptor and your phone wasn't charging. Worst case, fried board, dead battery or dead screen (phone is on, just the screen isn't lighting up).
The orange or green light dont come on soo what now??

You can try hooking it up to a PC and see if the PC can still find your phone. But from the sounds of it, it maybe a hardware failure somewhere. I would contact HTC if it's under warranty to have it repaired.
I ahd the same problem, dead - even power did not help
Try putting it on power overnight.
I hvae it in service for now, (but I used CM10 - and it broke down) I just hope the service will not have any problems with it and don't see it, for changing my hole motherboard

After having rooted it did they fix it?
Just flashed Ice Cold Jelly and rebooted but I seem to have no power to the unit now.
Obviously the bootloader is unlocked and it is rooted so I wasn't sure if they'd even work on it or what it would cost to do so. It is still under warranty.
When you connect the phone to a pc and it comes up as APX = Hardware failure ! As far as i know there is no fix for this
They changed my motherboard and I got it back . Didn't have to pay nothing.

Found it.
I tryed everything, nothing worked. After the JB update the hox only shows his logo.
Last time i let him receive the big JB update, but before installing it i made a copy to update.zip on the root of the sd.
Then after installing the update and again only showing the htc logo, i rebooted in the recovery and used custom recovery to write the boot again. Now everything works .
Thx anyway.
Keep up the good work here:good::good::good:

lol you bricked your phone by installing an ROM meant for the international One X, not the dual core version.
HTC one international ICJ bricked
Hi all,
Please forgive me if I've done something wrong posting here, I'm new here and I'm trying to post in the most relevant forum.
I have the international HTC One X (Tegra 3 etc) and Ive been using Ice Cold Jelly for a while. Yesterday I flashed Ice Cold 2.2 (the one meant for the international) with all the recommended wipes using TWRP. The phone worked fine for about 10 mins then froze with a messed up screen. I tried to reboot but it froze again during the reboot and hasn't turned on since. There's no LED at all when it's plugged in charging to any power source and it won't boot up no matter what I do.
I've done my best to search for solutions but to no avail, any advice anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!:fingers-crossed:

Thanks for the quick response!
It doesn't seem to be recognised by any operating system at all - as in the operating systems can't see it. There's no notification of hardware failure or even a device being connected.
What happends when you hold the power button and the volume - button together for a long time.....say like 30 seconds

Yeah that's the only thing that can happen, keep it on the charger or pc usb connection....hope it comes back to life !
I have a same problem, My htc one is bricked when I went to update it to the latest orginal android via gprs, my battery had 40% charge and the updating process was on 75% and it is turned off, now when i connect it to the windows 8 the windows tell me something connected to usb but I can not access to anything on my phone and the phone not charging via charger....
Is here anyone to tell me how to fix it or is it fixable or not please?
Hi!
My problem is that when I wake up my screen, its black but its responding to input. The screen works when starting the device, but when pressing the power button and then unlocking it like 10 minutes later, the screen stays black. It responds to input, but no picture on the screen. This problem occured today when running IceColdJelly ROM, but I've already run an RUU and are currently on stock, but the problem still exists.
Anybody knows what can cause this?
I remember experiencing the same on a JB preview rom, the only fix would be to hard restart(holding power button for 10+ seconds) and switching it back on.

The problem is I have already done that multiple times. I even run a RUU and are back on stock, but the problem is still there. The phone is totally unusable at the moment. When receiving a call the ringtone starts and it vibrates, but the screen is black and I cant answer.
Oh, well after I went to stock (done because I was sending for repair) I never faced it again.

Hey bro,
I had that issue before and had to exchange my phone. It is a hardware problem and I completely feel your pain since I was in a similar position with the warranty. Lucky me I bought it from a 3rd party vendor.
I believe the only way to get it fixed is replacing or repairing it. I wish you luck and hope it works out fine for you mate
Cheers

Wait so this issue is the BSOD(blank screen of death?) how come mine went away after relocking and flashing RUU? I always assumed it was the JB rom I was using. And trust me on that rom I faced it at least 3-4 times which got really annoying. And since I anyway had to relock, I decided to go stock. After going stock, I used it for a good 5-7 days and no BSOD.

Yeah, the strange thing is that I can have the screen on for hours. But when putting it to sleep and then waking it up the screen stays black but the buttons on the bottom lights up. I bought it from the carrier 3Sweden so I can only hope that they repair it and not HTC.
And BTW, I'm writing this message from this mobile.

Hi all!
I was given Htc One X 16Gb Gray
He has a problem when playing music after a short time speaker (external) starts to make noise. In headphones sound plays fine. Tell me, who had the same problem, it can be solved in software, or is the problem the speaker?
Thanks in advance!
P.S.>Telephone in stock from the store. Not rooted and unlock bootloader.
It's likely a hardware problem.
To be sure, do a factory reset. If the problem isn't fixed after reset, it's a hardware issue.
Hold volume down and power buttons until you get to bootloader screen.
Using volume buttons, navigate to factory reset and press power to confirm.
(Note: your personal files will be wiped)

Yes, the problem was actually in the hardware. Change phones in the shop for a new one.
Thanks to all for the tips!
