I rather have my 32gb as main sd just like my previous device and the one before that. I did the edit but when I reboot no sdcard is found.
There are two of these files but they seem to be the same because when I edit one the other is already edited. Folders are etc/ and system/etc.
I followed the guide like in rezound, amaze and many others. It may need manual remount command but I don't know which one is.
This is how it is originally
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard emmc /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.1/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard2 /mnt/sdcard/ext_sd auto /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.3/mmc_host
The mod is just renaming sdcard to sdcard2 and vice versa.
I'm not responsible if others try this and damage or brick anything on their own, I took the chance to see if it works. I'm looking for at least a suggestion.

I am very interested in getting this to work because the internal sd is only 4gb, I can't partition my external 32 sd card to transfer apps to ext sd. I can only get app data like gameloft games to external sd using gl to sd on playstore. Thanks for posting this.

I'm glad more users are interested.
Btw I'm currently using jmztotemc2 plus the linaro kernel. I have not tested this in full stock rom.

I've tested this and it didn't work, and had to reboot into recovery and restore and accidentally lost internal sd data.

hello all!
i did partition SD Card with Rom manager and now i want to revert it because the SD card shows that it has less capasity then it should (the original capacity minus the partition).
so how can i revert it?
Thank you!
No it doesn't show the partition, its a partition called SD ext on which you can store apps and data freeing up internal memory using a script like dta2sd. Some roms have it built into them to use it if its there but some don't which Rom are you using?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=925982
Also there's an app to go with it called a2sdgui and makes all the basic commands easier.

I'm using cm. This SD card is 1gb and I made 200mb partition, and when I put it to the computer it shows that's its 800 MB card

It'ssupposed to show that way!nothing wrong!
For reverting just go to settings --storage--format/erase SD card (you will lose the 200mb extra as well as all data)

After I link an app in links2sd I go to manage applications and I see that the app I just linked is on my phones internal memory. Isn't it supposed to be on my sd cards second partition?
Link2SD creates a link on the internal storage. The phone is not aware that it's just a link, and reports that the apps are on the internal storage. This is perfectly normal for Link2SD.
But after I link a few apps it says insufficient storage. Doesn't that mean links2sd is actually using my internal storage

Reboot your phone. You should find that the free space has increased.
I rebooted and it's been stuck on the boot screen for 2 hours
Reboot into recovery and wipe both the cache and dalvik cache, then reboot again.
I rebooted and my internal memory is still the same. Also if the links trick the phone into thinking they're on the internal storage will they also trick applications like disk usage?
Sent from my Wildfire S A510e using xda app-developers app
You can view the /data/sdext2 partition in DiskUsage. You can also check in Link2SD "storage Info".
In the settings for Link2SD, make sure Auto Link is turned on and also enable Link application file, Link dalvik-cache file, and Link library files.
Thanks for your help

Before you create a link to the SD card, the apps have to be on the internal memory, maybe you had them on the SD card and that was the problem.
Why what happens if they're on the sd card

Don't know, I've just read it somewhere. I'm sure nothing bad, maybe nothing and it will work properly, but all my app were on the internal memory before I created a link to the SD card, and everything works fine and I still have a lot of space on the internal.
I am also facing the reported issue and don't understand why does it keeps on reducing my internal memory and if I place my apps on internal memory and then link then what's the use since in one way or other I am consuming my internal memory.
Can anyone help.

Hey guys, so for the life of me, I can never get my SD card to be mounted properly on any AOKP ROM I put on this phone.
I had this issue back when I was using AOKP ICS build 37 as a daily, and now while I am playing with slick ricks JB AOKP ROM.
The SD card does not show up on my phone even when using a file explorer nor is it mounted on my computer when I connect the phone via USB.
I've done quite a bit of researching with no luck on my end. Does anyone know how to fix this issue, or willing to help me solve it?
Download es file explorer. Go into its settins. Click up to root. Then close and open it again. Push the back button. Does it say either emmc or sdcard and then have a folder labeled external_sdcard? Do not go into emmc or sdcard. Just wanted to know which it had. External should be at the top.

The main folder is /sdcard
Going up to / I see a folder labeled external_sd
@ slick rick

/external_sd/ is empty
I have no idea then. My external sdcard works perfectly fine on my AOKP rom
So figured I'd try another SD card.
I put an old 2GB sandisk and it work.
Seems like buying a cheap PNY SD card was a mistake. But why doesn't it work with AOKP roms???? XD
I installed Tiny's CM10.1 on my DI but when I go to download files I'm told that the browser can't download anything without an SD Card. I can't find an option to make it work with internal storage. The same thing happens with the Camera. Am I doomed to use an SD Card with this phone?
I believe android requires an ad card perhaps you can fake an external sd card by symlinking it from internal storage.I'm not really an expert or anything but I think this is how phones like the droid DNA work.
Sent from my ADR6300 using xda app-developers app
A set of symlinks should technically work but you have to do it every boot and you need 3 symlinks for compatibility.

Could be kernel related and/or format related. Works fine with flars kernel and any sense rom with my exFAT-formatted SDcard, does not work so with GPE and flars GPE kernel on this SDcard.
Usually after installation FolderMount will do a check on your SDcard and offer you to reboot your device if changes are necessary. After reboot it should be good to go.
Else you should read here: Mounts2SD

At the beginning you select what folders you want moving to sdcard, you.can use the built in app analyser which shows what folders take the most space, also when you buy premium you can mount almost anything, I even mounted the full internal sdcard to the external but it's not recommended
No it does not format sdcard, the app also fixes android permission for 3rd party apps to write to external sd

Using flar2s kernel as well on AR HD 5.0. Formatted my sd card too and tried again still no go. Currently having a read of the linked thread you gave me. Additional info, I'm S ON and using a 64gb card.

Just to let you know using folder mount I've mounted my whole internal sdcard to my 64gb exfat uhs class 10 microsd card and its working flawlessly I copied a file to my internal sdcard and it actually saves it to the external card. So to some up, apps get installed on internal memory and all data that usually goes in the internal sdcard is actually moved to the external storage

How did you get it to mount the whole internal sd? I've been trying to get the whole internal mounted, and it just keeps saying the selected folder is the whole folder, please select sub directories and won't let me continue. Or did you do it for each separate sub directory.
