Hi can any DEV port the HTC ZOE function to our HOX? If it is possible then we will not feel losing out to Samsung Galaxy S4.

HTC will surely include it in the next update.

In our HOX we are going to have almost all of the new system apps that are made for the one, but another things like sound bom are going to be out of us!

Can we still use Zoe?
I know it's mainly a software thing but I think I read somewhere that it ties in to the new Ultrapixel hardware on the One...
I can't watch, what is it?!

Hi everybody,
i own a HTC Tattoo with the fyodor ROM which based on AOSP with bluetooth and camera.
Maybe my mobile provider gives my a new mobile at the end of this year/begin of 2011. At this time i prefer a HTC Desire or a Samsung Galaxy S I9000.
Which is the better mobile?
For my Android 2.1 or 2.2 (better) is necessary and a Autofocus Camera.
The Samsung is cheaper, but i think the HTC support is better than the Samsung support.
What do you think?
kind regards

If you are looking at the end of this year, start of next, I'd suggest neither, since there will almost certainly be new models out then.

Dave

mate, no point getting excited about a new phone right now since you are getting it at the end of the year, new phones will come out, and android 3.0 by christams (apparenlty), and maybe a new OS will come out that is better then android, and by then Desire won't be as good...
Greetings to all dev`s of xda.
I am just looking for any Rom containing Sense 5 to our GNex.So I think that it will be good to have one.
I want to ask who or how can we port TDroid for example from Sensation or Ville to Nexus device?
That will not work, cause Sense stuff only works on HTC phones
But I heard the guys in the S3 forums are working on a port, but it's still very early and very difficult to do, so I wouldn' bet that it will come to our GNex one day.
Not sure if trolling or...

I like it too, it's way lighter than any other Sense.. Anyway... Porting that to Gnex won`t gonna happen, ever!

not happening.
if you want sense 5, buy an HTC phone
Yeah unfortunately won't happen. The best you can do is super theme it and nab a new phone of HTC with sense 5. Pretty beautiful though.

Without the HTC hardware to support Sense UI there is no way to use the Sense 5 Interface. There are some ROM's that have taken portions of Sense and integrated into their ROM's (Beans and there are some others), but no way to fully incorporate the UI.

with the HTC One getting AOSP, could this mean can get a port across with camera etc? Or are the devices too dissimilar?
Also would anyone want AOSP out of the box?
The sense camera won't be implemented in the google edition obviously.......

If HTC willing to open sources the camera driver for Google, it is possible for the One aosp camera to make use the benefit of the imagechip2. However, you still can't get the Zoe to work except Google implements it into One aosp camera with HTC permission.
I think the possibility of the above to happen will very low.... lol... yes, it is not that very make sense to get a senseless HTC One. Only S4 needs to sell Nexus ver this time, not HTC One.
But I guess the software focus on Qualcomm S4 600 should be improved, it might be okay for the HTC One aosp camera for normal use. I don't know, I don't have a HTC One.
yea certain rumours have confirmed that it WONT come with Zoe

It will still difficult to implement if HTC gives out permission because sense camera will need to access the framework from sense rom. There is no sense framework in aosp therefore Zoe won't work in the camera.apk even though HTC releases the imagechip2 driver for Google. Google will need to make his own aosp ver of Zoe start from scratch, so the possibility is almost zero at the moment.
However, I beat Samsung, Sony, LG will implement similar function in the next generation flagship. At that time, when this feature become one of smartphone standard, Google will make it in Nexus.
HTC One and HTC One V aren't anywhere close in hardware similarities (that I know of) so I doubt the camera in 4.2 could become of a working state with it.

Hello guys, now I was wondering is it possible, that when now we have sense 5 and android 4.2.2, to get HTC Zoe? Is there any port? Is it possible that maybe later we will get it?

There is no Zoe in the HOX 4.2.2 Sense 5 update.
It is a feature exclusively for Ultrapixel cameras.
There have been numerous discussions about porting it. There is NO source available, nor will there be, and the only phones that have it are based on Qualcomm and we're Tegra.
There is no need for another thread about it.

There is not.
There is a partially animated gallery that just crossfades between pics, and only in event view.
Zoe is a shooting mode not the gallery.
And this effect used on the HOX is incomparable.

So zoe is hardware feature 100%? because we basically in my opinion have everything it needs - burst mode, camera D). Ultrapixel as I know is only a technology to take more light from environment when taking picture. Or not?

Ultrapixel camera photosites are double the size on the same sensor dimensions, hence half the number. Yes, larger photosites capture more light at lower ISO.
Zoe is exclusive to the HTC One. It is a part of the camera software which is dependent on the existence of compatible hardware.

So it is as I said only a software. Think of it - maybe the camera has only bigger photosites and no other major hardware difference which would make zoe impossible but HTC just for marketing purposes says that it is impossible. I remember back in the days when Samsung Galaxy S was the most advanced android phone you could easily get basically everything ported on it because devs didn't listen what Samsung told is possible or is not. If i had enough knowledge I would try to port that feature myself.
No hate, just discussing all the "maybe" of a great exclusive feature

ZOE needs image sense 2 processing system. We have image sense 1. So it is hardware dependent.

OK now it is clear to me. Thank you. But still - hope dies last
It can be done, with a kernel and app, bin, lib files and some little changes to media_profiles.xml ... I know that it is 100% possible but I'm lazy now Check out that I gived a little finger to pirlano and port the kernel for htc one s and now on one s, we have ZOE ... Tralallalaalala

Right now I have HOS, I'm not so sure to buy a HOX... I had allso hox but I broke'it and I made a little downgrade to HOS... There are + and - beetwen HOS and HOX ... If I will change again the phone it will be One mini or HOX, if it will be hox you will get for sure ZOE.
We maybe can't get zoe as there are no libs for tegra to get it working....but we will see with kernel source code if it's possible

hello. i'm new to htc
i was going to buy Sam note 4, but people persuaded me to get htc m9
however while researching the phone i found this m9+ version
i need your help deciding which is better
Depends on what kind of phone you want. I'd advise you compare the information's to be found on the web and decide which choice would be the best one in you specific case.

To be honest, HTC have done some fantastic work on the camera since its release and now under MM its pretty good in Manual mode and takes some impressive shots and because you have Shutter Speend, ISO, and White Balance... the lack of IOS isnt too bad.. even in Low Light
If you want a Phablet with OIS, and an S_Pen, grab a Note 4, but if you want an all metal device, a camera that requires a little knowledge and awesome speakers running one of the fastest, slickest android skins on the market, grab an M9.

Sorry, i beg to differ. Htc camera is crap compared to samsungs. It does take clear pictures but the quality just isn't samsung. Htc admitted this themselves by backtracking to the ultra pixel from the m8 for the htc10.
As for knowledge.. You answered that yourself.
