Hello guys, now I was wondering is it possible, that when now we have sense 5 and android 4.2.2, to get HTC Zoe? Is there any port? Is it possible that maybe later we will get it?

There is no Zoe in the HOX 4.2.2 Sense 5 update.
It is a feature exclusively for Ultrapixel cameras.
There have been numerous discussions about porting it. There is NO source available, nor will there be, and the only phones that have it are based on Qualcomm and we're Tegra.
There is no need for another thread about it.

There is not.
There is a partially animated gallery that just crossfades between pics, and only in event view.
Zoe is a shooting mode not the gallery.
And this effect used on the HOX is incomparable.

So zoe is hardware feature 100%? because we basically in my opinion have everything it needs - burst mode, camera D). Ultrapixel as I know is only a technology to take more light from environment when taking picture. Or not?

Ultrapixel camera photosites are double the size on the same sensor dimensions, hence half the number. Yes, larger photosites capture more light at lower ISO.
Zoe is exclusive to the HTC One. It is a part of the camera software which is dependent on the existence of compatible hardware.

So it is as I said only a software. Think of it - maybe the camera has only bigger photosites and no other major hardware difference which would make zoe impossible but HTC just for marketing purposes says that it is impossible. I remember back in the days when Samsung Galaxy S was the most advanced android phone you could easily get basically everything ported on it because devs didn't listen what Samsung told is possible or is not. If i had enough knowledge I would try to port that feature myself.
No hate, just discussing all the "maybe" of a great exclusive feature

It can be done, with a kernel and app, bin, lib files and some little changes to media_profiles.xml ... I know that it is 100% possible but I'm lazy now Check out that I gived a little finger to pirlano and port the kernel for htc one s and now on one s, we have ZOE ... Tralallalaalala

We maybe can't get zoe as there are no libs for tegra to get it working....but we will see with kernel source code if it's possible

Hi all,
The black HTC one X has a different Camera.apk which has only Grid in the interface options, a measure taken probably because it is illegal to turn off the shutter sound in the camera. (From what I know). Comparing them side to side, the black version also "stutters" less when moving around, but also, both the colours and the screen seem to have a better contrast.
These are the photos, included is the different software number. I saw this model in two different stores.
Can anyone perhaps upload the black camera.apk? I think it fixes some of the issues the white one has. Are there any roms based on this version?
All the best.
Must be regional as your version numbers all differ a great amount from mine.
Also, I have a white one with the ability to toggle shutter sound. A black one from a friend also has that option.
Also, why on earth would it be illegal to turn off shutter sound?
Kernel 3.0? It's a custom ROM...
Mine is black and I don't have any deferent camera.

That's just retarded imo. I mean, normal camera's and such don't have shutter sounds aswell.
This is probably an unreleased FW version on the phone used on display models? I think HTC probably pushed a non-consumer version of the 3.0 kernel for best performance? better performance = more sales. I'm not sure.

I've got international black one X and trust me, there is an option to turn of the shutter sound.

You're right. This is the XL. A simple google search of the FW number revealed the XL FW page. And for a second there I thought the 3.0 kernel release was imminent.
Baseband was the giveaway...
It could be the One XL, I didn't know they look alike so much. I'll double check when I go back to make sure.
Posting two photos of One X versions with different menu colours, red and yellow/orange, both of them display models.

You guys are funny. The phone itself is exactly the same. In the last stage of assembly it's put in to either a white or grey body. There's no h/w or s/w differences between the colors. You can buy a different colored body on eBay and change the color and nothing will change with the internals.

This sounds like BS if you ask me. Why would HTC include kernell 3.x, still use old HTC API and Android 4.0.3... While they have A 4.0.4 TEST rom out which uses the new HTC API...
And from the SW version it is 100% a One XL!

I heard in radio that it's illegal to turn off shutter sound in phones, and that is only in Japan or somewhere there.
The best is the reason. Guys loves to take photos of strange girls on the street, specially when they have very short skirt. Problem is that the guys taking photos of what is under this short skirt. Therefore is better when it's making sound also.....

Every phone I've had has taken good close pictures without a macro mode. But ok, I put macro mode on and still it can't focus well. It does makes me angry, because I got specifically the HOX for the Quad-core, 32GB, great screen and camera...Although, I works like charm, and I got JB already, the camera is disappointing. I take pictures everyday since I manage social networks and my phone isn't living the expectations. I need to see if it can be repaired somehow and how much would it cost me.

When I try to focus on something close, the phone

Wie. Youre creazy :banghead:
No no. Realy its Cool. Show us photo if thats work fine.

Not sure why'd you'd do this - unless the HD was borked perhaps?
If I had both I'd probably just use the DHD
Very good idea! A Desire HD camera module costs 8 pounds if you google for "desire hd camera module".
If I could upgrade my camera in my old desire, I'd be very happy
(BTW replacing the kernel module on /system should not be too hard in any ROM; the rest of the software stack would probably work fine)
Good idea and the camera modules fit but in the photos it dusnt show how it is when its fully asembled?? Maybe another ss with the device is fully asembled

Camera is the one feature that utterly sucks in desire, would really like to see it replaced, if the hardware fits together, would the software recognize it?
You would need to port the desire hd camera drivers from DHD kernel to Bravo kernel before it would even work alot of work for just 3 extra MP not worth it
Good job

Impossibles in the past are easy possibles today, I think that if the module connections are the same, probably there is no limitations to the device accepting it. The only limitation here is probably how the kernel will interface with the camera but we have ported roms from other devices (with other camera models and specs) and our camera works with the modified kernels/drivers. I'm really curious about it, so it would be nice to test it.

If HTC willing to open sources the camera driver for Google, it is possible for the One aosp camera to make use the benefit of the imagechip2. However, you still can't get the Zoe to work except Google implements it into One aosp camera with HTC permission.
I think the possibility of the above to happen will very low.... lol... yes, it is not that very make sense to get a senseless HTC One. Only S4 needs to sell Nexus ver this time, not HTC One.
But I guess the software focus on Qualcomm S4 600 should be improved, it might be okay for the HTC One aosp camera for normal use. I don't know, I don't have a HTC One.

It will still difficult to implement if HTC gives out permission because sense camera will need to access the framework from sense rom. There is no sense framework in aosp therefore Zoe won't work in the camera.apk even though HTC releases the imagechip2 driver for Google. Google will need to make his own aosp ver of Zoe start from scratch, so the possibility is almost zero at the moment.
However, I beat Samsung, Sony, LG will implement similar function in the next generation flagship. At that time, when this feature become one of smartphone standard, Google will make it in Nexus.
HTC One and HTC One V aren't anywhere close in hardware similarities (that I know of) so I doubt the camera in 4.2 could become of a working state with it.
