[Q] please can someone look out for your boy - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Man look out, where do I begin? so short and simple bricked my note 2 freezes on boot up at Samsung Galaxy note II, I can still get it to boot into twrp and download mode, so when I boot into twrp ive noticed that when I go into mount, system is un checked. ive flashed other roms that have worked but it still freezes on boot screen. so this is where it gets tricky for me. I cant get my computer to recognize my phone. . Also I just recently upgraded my desktop to windows 8 and ive done the research and seen about the drivers unsigned or whatever. I go through that process and have the latest ones installed on my computer but still cant get it to recognize my phone. so I have the stock img and odin but without my computer recognizing my phone im pretty much stuck. I was wondering if theres a zip I can flash to unroot or take me back to factory rom or I don't know whatever. If theres anyone out there that can throw a little help my way it would be greatly appreciated and I would bless game however I could. Just a noob trying to get lil insight, appreciate ya

Can you get in to download mode? If so, start up Odin and then plug in the phone......does the upper left turn yellow?

Did I brick my phone?

So I just recently rooted my phone and was using the wireless tether with no problem.
Today I tried to flash the new caulkulin ROM, but I forgot to backup 1st. Threw the ROM on my phone and booted into CWM. Then I ran the reformat file as instructed, but I have no SD card in my phone, so I think it deleted the rom and everything else on the phone.
Now I am just stuck at exclamation screen. I can still get into CWM. I tried loading an SD card from my evo 3g with the calkulin rom on it, but it doesn't seem to recognize it.
Am I screwed? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
can you get into download mode? Odin something.
Or, try moving a file from your computer to your internal sd and flash that from recovery. any rom will do.

a fresh download wouldn't hurt anything either. try starburst v1.9
Odin is the only way out of this one it sounds like.

I am able to get into download mode.
I found a acs-eg30-stock-kernal-pulled.tar in my recycle bin on my laptop but it's only 8mb. Is this an incomplete file?
The pc I'm on now wont let me transfer anything off it, and I have no internet otherwise.

That's just the kernel, not sure if it'll fix your problem...worth a shot.
My suggestion is that you download (when you get a chance) the Odin back to stock tar, it's like 450 megs, but always good to have to start fresh. It'll make you cwr and root free but that's an easy fix.

Ok I will try downloading it on my laptop at a cafe. Thanks for all the replies

Did this work? I also semi-bricked my phone in the same exact way. I'm coming from EVO 3D, so still getting used to CWM and ODIN. So all we do is go back in to ODIN mode and flash the stock-EG30.tar file?
---------- Post added at 03:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:00 PM ----------
It worked. Big thanks to Duce HD2 for the tip!
You dpnt have to format system unless ur flashing starburst. Viper and calculyns dont need format system. Just wipe everything.
Just incase you havnt done it yet
flashing that kernel wont help you one bit if you formated system
and youl lose cwm too.
hold on ill look up the tar you want.
edit this would bring your whole phone back to stock so you can start over
would have no root and no cwm

Glad it worked. A good piece of advice is to always have that "odin back to stock" on your pc as soon as it becomes available. It's a life saver.

Stock Bell unrooted rom

I've searched for a good 15 minutes, I might have let it slip, but I'm really busy and I need to have this rom for tonight. This is a big time request.
I'm sending my cellphone for overheating problems because I'm still under warranty, and I can't find the Canadian rom for the SGS3(BELL). I have the stock + root one, but I can't find a really stock one. My flash trip counter and other things that should be default are not tripped, so it shouldn't pose any problem.
Last little question : Do I flash the stock rom via cwm to keep the counters normal? It should also remove cwm, right?
Thanks, sorry for being a burden.

Could be Half Bricked?

Hey guys!
So I flashed back to my stock rom.
I run a Samsung Galaxy S III i747m.
Now when I boot it up its just sits on the "Samsung" logo.
The logo somewhat flashes.
Any help is appreciated.
It usually takes a few minutes to go to first user screen after replacing rom ...If you flashed stock rom onto phone not using Odin, You'll need to install cmw thru Odin.... Turn phone on while pressing home and up volume..... Once in restore you'll need to wipe data....

How to Unroot/Revert Note 2 to Stock for AT&T Return?

How do I go about unrooting , removing my custom rom and getting the phone back to stock? I plan on returning the phone and am assuming one must remove all rooting/roms before doing that. I have a Mac, so not sure how that complicates matters. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Search before creating new threads please............
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1992303
Yes I had seen that, but it looks to involve some use of .exe files. As I stated in the OP, I have a Mac, which is why I started the thread. Thanks
How did u root in the first place?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
The ExynosAbuse directly on the GN2
Is there a solution for this or am I 100% screwed? Assuming AT&T won't take a rooted phone running a custom rom back.
Lol. See thats the problem with those easy root methods like that,,
Makes it way to easy,, im guessing u never hear of hiemidal or what ever its called?

Bootcamp?
No sir, I have not. Not too technologically advanced, but had rooted my Galaxy Nexus pretty easily and the GN2 wasn't much of an issue. But now I'd like to return the phone and I find myself in this big predicament.
I think thats the way you do it on a mac... im no expert on that

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
Yes. Clockworkmod, I believe. Recovery boots into the TeamWin screen
Thats twrp , not clockworkmod.........okay so now that u have a recovery your gonna hafto go to the play store and buy chainfires triangle away then run it
●○●○takin a crap as we speak●○●○
Alright, so after I do that, what is my next step? Looks pretty dangerous and says only on stock firmware. I'm currently running CleanRom
Lol as long as your not running any international roms tryangle away
Is safe...its from the same guy who dose root for samsung devices...as long ur device model maches what u choose in the app its good...
Keep in mind im guiding u in the right direction. Iv not used hemidall method due to I use pc,, but I have used triangle away on my i317m and it works
●○●○takin a crap as we speak●○●○
---------- Post added at 02:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:23 PM ----------
Since u have custom recovery on your phone that will trip your counter ..triangle away resets that counter. Then u would flash back to stock from there.

Thank you again for all your help
Re: Custom recovery...Right, but how do I go about flashing back to stock? Is that what you are not sure of as I use a Mac?
See. Thats what your gonna hafto read about.....I dony know about that....what I suggest is read till your eyes bleed, wait for more people to chime in on this thread... u seem smart so I know it will go good for u

Start here, it is initial root on a Mac so it will at least give you a walk through of heimdall, I am still looking, there was a thread in here somewhere with what you are looking for. You will do the same steps and tar file as windows I believe, just with heimdall. Please research a little to make sure I am right though.

Similar situation
I'm having a similar issue. I'm on Linux, so no ODIN. I'm using heimdall, though. I had rooted and flashed several different ROMs (mostly CleanROM), and had things generally working. However, now I've tried flashing back to stock, to begin this process, but now my phone won't boot at all. I get the boot logo, the AT&T ball-dropping with the noise (although the noise gets cut off), and then it sticks at the "SAMSUNG" logo with the flashing blue shadow. I've tried various versions of stock ROMs I've found (UCALJ1, UCALJ2, UCALK7), but none complete the boot process. I've also done a factory reset/wipe in stock recovery.
I'm able to get into download mode without issue, and can easily flash TWRP or stock recovery (and enter those). However, something's causing my phone to not boot all the way. Any tips, pointers, ideas ... ?
Why don't you non pc people install a virtual machine with a Windows OS? Then use Odin without all the problems. ..

From what I've read, Odin doesn't work well through VM's. Can't post external links yet, but Google turns up plenty of people having trouble.
Either way, that wouldn't help me. I can flash just fine through heimdall. The problem is either I don't know what to flash to fix my phone (is it boot? is it kernel? something else?), or I don't have what I need to flash. The stock ROMs I've tried all come with system.img, recovery.img, cache.img, hidden.img (what is this anyway?), boot.img, and modem.bin. None of them seem to have a kernel. Could that be what's missing?
---------- Post added at 12:32 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:23 AM ----------
OK, just got one of Scott's rooted stock de-odexed ROMs to boot (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2070105). At least I'm back in business.
From here, how would I get back to completely stock (for return purposes)? I can flash stock recovery, Triangle Away, and un-root from SuperSU, but that doesn't restore the stock odex-ed version of the ROM.

Well I probably didn't read your phone cuz it was in a bootloop and it probably messed up the rom enough to get rid of the drivers that let's the phone connect to the pc I would just try dirty flashing the rom again to get everything back

Hi. I have reflashed a new room then did tons of reflashes after that and now im on 4.3 rom. Everything is working fine and it conects when my phone is on. But when it is in downlaod mode. It doesnt detect my phone. This is quite strange. Should i install kies or contact mobile odin people(not gonna answer me anyways xD)
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
It sounds as if you have exactly the same result as I did when I reflashed my Samsung S3 I9300 and then updated it to 4.3 Jellybean.
Try removing the battery and leave it out while you go have lunch or something, i.e. for some extended time. Then try download mode again. That worked for me but only once. At this moment I'm waiting again, with the battery removed, before I can use download mode again.
Maybe there is something different with 4.3, only time will tell. Lots of people are running alternative ROMs so they may not come across this at all.
