adding lockscreen option in settings.apk - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hello every body
i am working on putting the xperia Z lockscreen on my xperia arc so i tried to use "xperia z lock screen for .13 by jader" mod but this mod replaced my settings.apk so i lose many options in my settings (modified settings) and also i lose power key menu options (reboot , cwm ,.....)
so i decided to the xperia z lockscreen by jader to my settings (at least try to do that)
I got the "UxpNxtLockScreen.apk" (lockscreen apk from jader's mod) and i learned how to modify my current settings.apk to add a lock screen option (and that was a hard work to understand how to add options in settings) so i can now use the new modified settings without losing any options
the question is what files i need to modify in framework\ folder to add the lock screen without losing some features like power key menu ??
if some one can help me understanding what is the framework\ files for and what is the relationship between system features and .jar files in the framework\ (for example the relationship between lockscreen and .jar files or the power key menu and .jar files)
and how to modify this jar files ?
i searched a lot on google but cant find exactly what i need or some thing like !!!
finally sorry for my bad english and i hope that some one can help me

To do that you just need to just replace framework-res.apk with crt off mod and battery mod, animations are placed inside this apk in folder res/anim. I can attach my mod if you wish, with just three animations mod for unlock, status bar and left right slide (if you wish you could replace it with stock ones fom framework-res.apk copy-paste all xml files from anim folder) and amazing battery graphics (with percentage) stolen and little color moded from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12949583&postcount=1413
So just replace other two .jar files from this post with stock ones, to have no expanded lock menu, and to have crt off and percentage battery (I can upload my little mod of framework-res.apk (without blue color battery and some orange blue system color mod).

LOL
I did got one bootloop when I deleted android.policy.jar and framework.jar from your zip (becouse it first wipes than copy files), so if all followed writen above won't cause bootloop
BTW thanx for your mod once again, but I changed battery color from blue to green(er)
Funny thing happend after I made stock crt off framework-res.apk
it was always showing full battery icon and even after I flashed full stock JVB ROM. With moded framework-res.apk it works flawlesly, now I'm on homemode JVA(less buggy) but still don't know does the stock battery works, didn't tried it...strange?

[Q] Quick Settings edit

hi,
quick question: how to edit the quick settings in the drop-down menu (notification tray) in Gingerbread Sense ROMs ? (im using insertcoin)
i want to know ! how to do ?
Maybe this Thread helps you
well unfortunatetly no answer there, just an idea to decompile an .apk and suit it to my needs.
still, anyone ?
Its so simple in MIUI Rom... their is an option in settings/Personal/ Custom Status Bar..
Incase you desperately want the setting, you can try MIUI ;-)
Well it's a difference if you did the thing yourself or if you want to change a HTC based feature without big hacks. I think it's pretty much impossible.
But if there is a solution, let me know - 2G/3G is missing
it is not impossible, in stock you get only a few quick settings, in custom roms (rcmixs, insertcoin) devs extended it - i want to know how, so i can remove the unneeded shortcuts.
robocik: not that easy, you should take a modded systemui.apk and a stock one, decode both with apktool and diff them, that way you will see how it is maked and will be easier for you to modify it.
this is the method, have not tried it yet though.
if any of you intrested guys tries to do this, i really apprecieate your feedback here thx.
and big thanks to robo, not only for all the amazing job he is doing for our community, but also for responding to my Q
I have rooted Desire Z with Virtuous Sence v2 Rom.
Go to
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1071118
and download Extra QuickSettings 0.2
http://www.multiupload.com/W7GXFQJN6R
Extract SystemUI.apk from zip file.
I used DroidExplorer to replace original : system/app/SystemUI.apk
with the downloaded one and have ne quick settings menu.
Is there any way to change "quick settings" with rooting?
If by "change" you mean "add/remove features in the settings list", yes, there is. Check out this thread.

Delete stuff from ROM? System UI or ROM control?

I'm trying to delete battery icon profiles from ROM Control - IceColdSandwich. I know that icons are in SystemUI but somewhere there, there is a list of them and I want that deleted too, because if I delete icons only they do not show up in the menubar but the list is still intact. It's somewhere in xml files, I tried baksmali both systemui and romcontrol but I'm not fluent with code and I can't find it. Any help would be useful.
Also anyone knows how to set the clock color to #ffd3d3d3 and center it? I know I can do that in ROM Control easily, the thing is I want it set like that by default. When I flash the ROM I want it to be set like that from the start.

how to change home in cyanogen mod 9

i want to use xperia s home.apk but i cant change it on cyanogen mod (it uses trebuchet as default)
can anyone explain me how can i change it?
thanks!
(should i only rename home.apk to trebuchet.apk? jaj)
"i cant change it on cyanogen mod" is a bit vague - u gotta explain your problem...
r u sure installing unsigned apps is enabled?
Is the xperia s home not dependant on stock firmware? If so then you can't use it on cm9, aokp, miui etc. There's an xperia home for any rom in Android general, if that's any use.
install the apk or if you already did go to Trebechuet launcher in settings n pick clear defaults
