If T-Mobile stopped caring the Galaxy S3 Pebble Blue 16 GB and replaced it with the Titanium Grey version; and a manager said the warranty replacement is on backorder; and the Pebble Blue hasn't been in stock for at least 2 months, does that mean I will still get a Pebble Blue one since it was my original phone?

If they don't have it in stock they will send you the titanium gray. Login to your my T-Mobile account and look under orders to see what they ordered for you.

My bet is you will still end up with blue. Maybe out of stock for new but I'm sure there are plenty of rebuilt ones for warranty replacement. Usually when you return a phone it goes to a rebuild factory and get a few things replaced like charger port and power button and things like that. and than they use those for replacement. Of cause I'm not talking about "recent purchase" but warranty replacement. Keep us posted.

He was told that they are out of stock on refurbished blue s3's. They don't give new phones for warranty replacements so they wouldn't have told him their inventory on them. This happened to me with my s2. They were out of refurbished black ones so they sent me a brand new white one. It depends on how long it is going to take for them to get you the original color/how far backordered they are.

I just hot off the phone with t Mobile. Not real happy. They are out of stock on s3. They are back ordered with no eta. I asked is there a different color or something else they can do? She was no help. Ill be leaving town Monday and looks like ill have to dig up an old RAZR i have somewhere. Very disappointed in Tmobile. Pay warranty and insurance month after Month after Month. Need a replacement one time and this is the service they deliver. Shame on you rmobile. Pi$$ poor.

I actually just talked to them today to replace my white one. After issues I had with a waaranty replacement they offered me a brand new one but since they are completely out of the white one they offered me the titanium. I don't care about the color its the same phone. I didn't care for the blue ...so . but they lady told me as far as she knew the white was out of stock and they only had the gray or blue but blue was backordered. I must have gotten the. Last titanium . . Maybe they are getting rid of the. For the lte version.

Dang, but the silver lining might be that you get a T999L model as warranty replacement due to their inability to provide a T999 model. Just have to wait until April to receive your replacement phone.

They sent my phone to me on the 21st. I got a bad IMEI and I still cannot get it unblocked. They told me 48 hrs on 3/21, 24 hrs on 3/23, and then 24 hrs on 3/25. Sounds like they cannot do jack for me. I have to wait till like 6pm ET tomorrow if not, call and get them to send me another phone and I sent this POS back to T-Mobile. My parents are pissed that T-Mobile is treating my like crap. $400 for an S3 that I paid out of pocket from work during the summer down the drain. Bad luck for the college student, smh.

I'm currently an owner of an htc amaze 4g. Ive seen people exchange from the htc amaze to the Samsung galaxy s2. I just want to know how I could do that? I'm really getting tired of the problem that this phone has. I really want a Samsung galaxy s2. What's the easiest way to do that? Should I just buy a new one? :/.

lol everyone says that. well the i cant put a case on because it makes the wifi signal weaker, the flash messes up the pictures at night, the faceplate creaks when you put pressure on it(its very loud) and haptic keys on the bottom of the screen bleed through the screen of the phone so you can see it lighter on the bottom of the phone. that's a problem with all of the htc amaze. im just tired of all of those problems. i love htc sense though :/. is there any way to put htc sense on the samsung galaxy s2?

Officially? No. However I bought a sensation on Craigslist and it stopped charging after a month. I think I broke the charging port. I went to t mobile chat and told them. At one point I was asked where I got the phone. I lied and told them from t mobile and they replaced it with the amaze. My old sgs4g I Gabe to my wife who is on her own plan and she started having software issues so she called t mobile up and had that replaced.

That is not ture anymore. I went through 4 HTC Sensations and the current one is having issues, and they will not replace it with a different model. I've tried multiple agents and pleaded at several stores.
Well was it within 90 days or less. Its in their policy. They are probably untrained or overlooking it. I have done this on two occassions. You can always have them transfer you to retention. Or if you complain hard enough you can initiate them to look at their policy. My wife has the mytouch 4g and had some freezing issues last month. She went through two exchagnes in a matter of weeks. The Rep told her at both the store while I was there and one on chat that if she specifically had three or more exchanges for the same device within 90 days an alternate phone would be offered. It is similar to or better. The reps can't choose as it chides the most comparable phone to your current one as well as same price or more. Sometimes they offered another option. It would be worth mentioning the policy next time or speaking to a manager and or retention.

For clarification tmobile use to do that they dont always anymore speaking with retention will do nothing in terms of that we cant force it to happen neither can a manager either your given the option or not. I believe they made changes to prevent people fraudelantly doing this just because they know the policy. Best thing you can do is sell your phone and just buy a galaxy s 2 used, just find a reputable seller.

That's lame. So they'd rather have an unhappy customer that's gone through many refurbished versus, than just shipping out a newer. Phone? I can see how warranty stuff can be abused.

People sell their phones on Craigslist and then report it lost/stolen and file an insurance claim with T-Mobile/Assurion. They get shipped a replacement phone and your phone gets blacklisted which means it wont work on T-mobile.

Thru the warranty they send you the phone overnighrt. Usually you'll get it by the next day or the day after. Then after you receive it you send your defective phone via the same box the new one arrived.

You can only get a replacement through T-mobile if you have their insurance plan, otherwise you have to go through the manufacturer. You're **** out of luck if you don't have a receipt though. They don't care about the manufacture date on the phone, only the receipt.

I changed this into a my progress thread. I have verizon and insurance.
I tested everything on the phone over a 24hr period. And here is progress.
Still using phone 2 as of now.
Phone 1 - random reboots.
Phone 2 - proximity sensor failure, vertical banding
Phone 3 - 2-3 screen purple, loses full signal and data then comes back. Few times a day. Basically like a ping out. Timeout. Whatever.
Phone 4 - coming tomorrow 8-15 maybe this one will be good!
Phone four is good so far! No data drops. Good screen. Korean model.

I would trust a refurb from Verizon over a new unit. They're all tested thoroughly and any parts replaced are new...
You would think that however there are tons of people who go through more then four replacements trying to get a good one from Verizon. There are videos of un boxing and having issues from first power on.

You have 5 days or so to ship the faulty phone back upon receiving your new phone. They pay for the shipping both ways. If it is faulty just tell them you have already wiped data etc....battery pull blah blah blah so they don't make u do it and you aren't tied up on the phone. So glad I pay the $6.99 for TEC from asurion on both my lines. This process the few times I have had to do it is relatively painless.

90% of warranty exchanges are garbage.
So Sunday my GS3 died out the blue. It was fine, then suddenly it turned itself off and then wouldn't go pass the boot screen. I call T-mobile and they say the phone is on backorder so I'll have to wait to get another one. Today I get a text message saying "The replacement device for your warranty exchange order is out of stock. A complete kit with a similar device or better value is being sent in its place. Your delivery may be delayed up to 48 hours".
Does that mean they are sending me a brand new gs3 or a completely different phone? I doubt they'd upgrade me to a gs4 right? I'm only worried because the last time I had issues with a warranty replacement from T-mobile, their idea of a equal value was to replace my Blackberry with a Nokia, which I refused.

Well originally they were on back order so I got a message saying they were sending me a brand new in box phone. It came with all the accessories and everything that a new phone has. But it acted like a refurb. Didn't charge correctly. First thought it was the battery but they sent me a new one and that didnt help so they sent me another phone. This one came like the refurbs do..with just the phone, no battery or back.
I just had to use my extended warranty from t-mobile (Asurion is the company I made the claim with) last week. I received a brand new T-999L to replace my T999. I'm loving the speed of the LTE and did root using odin to the stock rom. I'm not too keen on going further though after reading how all the roms on here don't fully support the t99L, reading how they might work or require patching but may not work at LTE speeds is reason enough to just keep the phone as is for now.

I also have the T999L and was wondering if the rooting methods for T999 will work on my phone. It was sent to me to replace a nexus 4 from TMO. I had no other choice..it was all they offering. Anywho, this is one of my concerns..will my LTE still work? Have you rooted and ran ROMS and your LTE still works? I want to jump in the game but don't want to mess up a good thing.

Well, as a few of you may or may not know, I bricked my LGOG (running dirty unicorns 4.3) and couldnt get into LGNPST or recovery. Anyways, I took it to best buy and at first, they werent going to replace it because they said if its after the first two weeks of purchase, it has to be shipped out and exchanged. We (my mom and I) called the Geek squad corporate line to get some more info because one person told us it would have to be replaced with a refurbished phone. That makes no sense, why have insurance if youre just going to give me something used, right? Well, after we read them the paperwork that was given to us with the purchase of our insurance, they confirmed that it would be a brand new LGOG.
Turns out, the LGOG is on back order so they said if it's not here in a MAX of 10 days, I can come into the bestbuy and pick out a phone of my choice that day and keep it. I'm probably gonna go with the G2 or that gorgeous blue HTC One (Although, id be happy with another LGOG, anything is better than this Nexus S 4G i have to use)
At any rate, I just wanted to tell you all what happened, in case you have geeksquad insurance and didnt know what they would do if you bricked your phone and couldnt fix it yourself. I only posted because i know when i went looking for answers i couldnt find any clear ones.
Seems like the geek squad insurance is really worth getting. When I do get to upgrade I will definitely be checking out bestbuy.
Are you able to get the Geeksquad insurance at any time, and do you have to go through Best Buy?

You have to get the insurance within 10 days of buying the phone from best buy.

Ah, bummer. Makes sense, though.
I haven't bought anything from Best Buy in... probably 10+ years.
I dropped my phone, cracked screen, non-responsive to touch. I am getting a refurb in the next day or 2. No mention of a backorder to me. Best part is that it wont cost me a penny.
Of like kind. Is what it says and i've become rather familiar with the reasons for that. New or refurbished. If it is backordered for 14 of it being checked in then it is a new phone of like kind. And im rather familiar with the rules.

We just got my wife an S4 a few weeks ago and found out they no longer do free replacement, there is a deductible now.
The program looses 100m a year. They are trying to stem the bleeding. That is why there are charges now.

Regarding Geek Squad Protection
Before some point mid Oct. they used to cover screens for minimal cost @40 now it is $150. Other than that still worthwhile.

Yeah I got the old insurance. I just sent out the LGOG I JUST got back due to a Security error lol. I was trying to restore an old EFS but ended up relocking my boot loader. So now I'm stuck on a Nexus S until November 13th. If my LGOG isn't back then I'll be getting a Nexus 5 or G2.
