S4:
Phone dimensions 136.6mm x 69.8mm x 7.9mm (slightly smaller & thinner, extremely similar to S3)
Battery 9.88Whr (~20% larger capacity than S3)
S3:
Phone dimensions 136.6mm x 70.6mm 8.6mm
Battery 7.98Whr
Anyone on Sprint for a few years probably knows the SGS2 (Epic Touch) battery was able to be installed into the SGS1 (Epic) with stock battery door and all for a nice 20% boost in battery life while keeping the OEM battery door.
So the question you should be asking yourself is, will the S4 battery be a drop in replacement into the S3? And how long until a reviewer/blogger tries this out and lets the world know?
I just compared a pic of the S4 to my S3 and it looks like the S4 battery is wider than the S3. Link to Pic: http://images.anandtech.com/doci/6832/DSC_9896.jpg

it can't be, otherwise samsung will not sell the extended battery for the S3... Samsung is smart enough to think of that...

Yeah, too bad its $50 and won't even fit under the standard battery door. When I had the S1 I upgraded to the S2 battery for about $12 shipped for an OEM S2 battery - not to mention a lot of folks walked into a Sprint store and got a S2 battery free of charge to put in their S1.
Just no bang for the buck here for $50 asking price.
Me too I think the oem extended battery is overpiced. I have x2 extra oem batteries for S3 here and I'm thiunking of modding them just like here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800177 but the problem is I can't find a nice looking cover... I hate ugly! LOL

No it wont. I have both and the battery is too big to fit in the SGS2
what other oem battery can you use in an infuse?
Whay do they got a have a different size battery for every different phone. bring back AA batteries they are standardized lol, no for real!
Holy zombified bringing back from the dead thread
hi all, anyone tried one of these or have any views on them?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220920058988?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
I'm skeptical that it will actually be 3.8Ah but who knows!
I would maybe try this one first
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2300mAh...ccessories&hash=item3f117fadeb#ht_5834wt_1413
i don't trust oversized. Also the Gnex requires that the battery has a NFC chip on it to be able to use the Gnex's NFC function
what's the capacity on the standard battery packs? That 2.3ah one you linked to does not look much bigger, do you also need a new back cover for that one?

thought more people would have views on extended packs?

Only $5.99 USD?
That's too good to be true ... most probably fake, I meant it contain less than 2300 mAH.
And it is for "Galaxy Nexus prime" ... bwahahaha ... Yeah, right!
Also, it does not look to have NFC.
I bought this one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/110797773716#ht_4338wt_905
It has NFC and it is (slightly) higher capacity. The back cover fits perfectly, and is almost identical to the CDMA GN back cover. Makes the device just a tad less concave near the bottom. Looks and fees better in my opinion.
I've ordered one of the 3,800 ones, I'll post a review when I get it!
Both the cheap ones do seem a bit too good to be true, but for the price of the so called 3800mah one I might try it and test it out.
I'll look forward to seeing the review if u get yours first mate

The 2000 ones are genuine. Many people have bought it and have no complaints.
NFC on it works as well if that matters to you. It has many prices some in USD etc etc.
Anyone bought one yet?

Yo dawg, check the accessories forum. There's a thread for this huge ass battery in there.

Been thinking about this. I hate putting on huge battery packs so the 2000mAh was appealing. but $50 for such a small bump is hard to justify for me, especially considering I have no plans to get a desk charger and swap batteries.

I was thinking the same thing, but I went for it anyway. I bought it so I wouldn't have to swap batteries. The 2000mah battery has about 15% more capacity, so if you get say 12 hours on the regular battery, you should get 13.7 hours. If you get 18 hours, you should get 20.6 hours. As well, I find my GN feels much better in my hand with the extended battery: it is slightly heavier and less concave in the back (i.e., it looks like an LTE GN).

No NFC chip. I wouldn't buy. Only the official Samsung extended has the NFC. It's stupid that they put it in the battery

Here's my thread on the 3,800 mAh battery
What do you think? if so what would be the expected mah?
I'd love them to, but I doubt it :/ If they do however, I will be pre-ordering it straight away
Agreed just got a Nexus and the battery life is half that of my iPhone. My iPhones screen would be at max and the Nexus at the minimum.
If they release a 2500-ish battery I will get it

I don't think they will. Personally, I was disappointed in their decision to use such a small extended battery. I know allot of people don't want to lose the slimness. Those people should stick to the stock battery. I wish it was close to 3000 mah.
I guess Samsung decided more people would buy the battery based on slimness than would not buy because of mah rating.

Well we got the Seidio extended battery. Not exactly Samsung but I had good experience with their batteries. My only complaint about the battery is the back cover. Not a big fan of the color. Should have made it the color of the phone
Samsung wont make a bigger one. they did same thing for the galaxy S2.
Im waiting for the mugen one. I had that on my SG S2 and it was a beast
I hope Samsung or somebody else does. The siedo is huge and kinda ugly. Personally I would like around 2500mah -3000mah depending on how huge it is. Including NFC would be a huge plus too.
What's the seido?

Doubt it as it'd ruin the lines of the phone. The official 2000mah extended battery fits nicely and the cover just makes the phone feel better in the hand
the mugen will have how much battery?
i dont think they would but it would be very nice to see if they do....

Samsung have already officially released an extended battery for the GNex. It is on Amazon for $33.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galax...SUUG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327052643&sr=8-1
That's the Verizon version, the GSM one can be found on eBay...

All depends on your usage of the phone. It is only an extra 250 mAh, so if you are a heavy user, you may get an hour or two out, medium user a couple of hours and light user a few more!
I find it is easy to carry around a spare cheap eBay battery just in case you need it!
as long as it doesnt look like this:
http://www.fonearena.com/blog/22046/samsung-power-pack-ebb-u10-for-galaxy-s-is-out.html
Novel idea there, although it looks FUGLY!!
I'm not gonna lie. I'm tempted to get the Seidio one since I'm a really heavy user, especially during the night shift with music and such. But idk. I'm thinking about buying an extra extended battery since Verizon still has them for half off or getting the huge Seidio one. I don't use NFC so that doesn't really matter. What do you guys think?
By the way, sorry if I like jacked your thread with this question

Most people are going to tell you use the Samsung because it looks better...personally, looks don't matter to me, so if you feel you need the extra juice the seido is the best option at the moment. The thing keeping me from the seido is NFC and the price. I just went with the samsung. You can buy 2 of them for less than the price of the seido.

Can anyone recommend the best extended battery for the galaxy nexus i9250?
I would prefer:
The original size as the oem battery, as i already have a phone case which only fits the original
cheaper would be better, i am willing to sacrifice nfc (that thing is useless nowadays
I Use the Official Samsung OEM Extended 2100mAh Battery. I can't tell the difference since I've been running my phone on extended since day 1 but I seem to get pretty decent battery running franco kernel. I get 40-50% by 4pm with average use, I've seen people get better though. Average price is $30, a guy at the sprint store cut me a deal. The Sprint version of the official Extended battery is hard to find, but you can snag a Verizon or generic GSM one easily off of eBay or maybe preferably on Amazon just be sure you know what you're buying because I've seen people try to fit Verizon extended covers on their Sprint phones and vice versa and it just doesn't work.
Buy the OEM Samsung 2000mah off eBay from shimshop. Completely stock with NFC built in. Slightly larger with nearly unnoticeable bulge. Fits the phone much better IMO. Great battery life as well. A good 35-40 percent more for me.

hit that thanks button if I helped you
Forgot to add that with the Samsung extended battery, I use a TPU case with no fit problems at all. They of course have 3600mAh extended cases though if you decide bigger is better.
I have a VHBW EXTENDED BATTERY 3500mAh...I improved the durance more than 30%.
But of course is related to the setting that you use. I think that the durance can increase
I have just recently purchased my first android smart phone. It is a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Gt-N7100 clone from fastcardtech.com. I was wondering if anyone else has one of these GT-N7100 clones and has added an extended battery to one, or if anyone knows if a regular Note 2 extended battery and cover will fit my clone? I have been researching and the dimensions of both phones are litterally 1-2mm difference, so i do not know if the cases and batteries will fit the exact same on both. If anyone knows of one that can fit my clone, please let me know. I dont want to spend a lot of money on a battery and case that wont even fit. Thanks.

I once bought a gold battery with extended mAh it said 3100 mAh when removing the golden wrapper it said 950 mAh underneath.
Same size batteries claiming to have far bigger amounts of mAh is 99,99% of the times bullsht. They are unstabe and can become twice as thick after some time. if you are unlucky they explode or burn down.
Just buy genuine batteries at your local store. Stuff selling on ebay is most of the time not genuine (even when they say so) and will damage your Phone.
Really watch out what you are buying!
Why do you need to purchase an extended battery ? Its more expensive than the fake note 2
Sent from my GT-N8000 using xda premium
Yeah buy the extended battery clone to go with your note 2 clone.
This is a forum for Samsung galaxy note 2, not the knockoff that has no affiliation with it.

Well you bought a clone, why would you assume you'd get the good support/dev/quality as we do with our original devices? Why would you even bother with asking the question?
Lots of people with clones posting here, it's annoying.
