Can anyone recommend the best extended battery for the galaxy nexus i9250?
I would prefer:
The original size as the oem battery, as i already have a phone case which only fits the original
cheaper would be better, i am willing to sacrifice nfc (that thing is useless nowadays
I Use the Official Samsung OEM Extended 2100mAh Battery. I can't tell the difference since I've been running my phone on extended since day 1 but I seem to get pretty decent battery running franco kernel. I get 40-50% by 4pm with average use, I've seen people get better though. Average price is $30, a guy at the sprint store cut me a deal. The Sprint version of the official Extended battery is hard to find, but you can snag a Verizon or generic GSM one easily off of eBay or maybe preferably on Amazon just be sure you know what you're buying because I've seen people try to fit Verizon extended covers on their Sprint phones and vice versa and it just doesn't work.
Buy the OEM Samsung 2000mah off eBay from shimshop. Completely stock with NFC built in. Slightly larger with nearly unnoticeable bulge. Fits the phone much better IMO. Great battery life as well. A good 35-40 percent more for me.

hit that thanks button if I helped you
Forgot to add that with the Samsung extended battery, I use a TPU case with no fit problems at all. They of course have 3600mAh extended cases though if you decide bigger is better.
I have a VHBW EXTENDED BATTERY 3500mAh...I improved the durance more than 30%.
But of course is related to the setting that you use. I think that the durance can increase

Will these make me go faster?
I have read that before..are really that good ?
Whats the different between a 1550 mAh Mugen Power battery for 30$ and a random 1550 mAh battery from eBay for 10$?
some ebay sellers sells unbranded or fake batteries (would say 1800mah but is actually 1300 etc..), usually with no return/exchange policies specially the cheap ones like 3 pcs for 10$.
mugen pretty much you get what you pay for.
Man that's nice
I don't have issues with the stuff I got from them. I saw on their facebook page that they change the batteries if they're working...which is good and they have 1 year warranty on stuff. So far I'm going with them. Got 2 days on average usage on my Nexus
looks like I found the answer to my question. will check them out, thanks!

Personally for me the big difference is their brand presence across all available customer service channels (twitter, facebook, email, phone etc...) and high quality. I'm using my 4th battery from Mugen at the moment and totally happy with it and with their service.
Also I received a reply from their rep that actually makes sense - they say that their price allows them to give all the listed services to the customers, and it is simply not possible to make a good battery for 10$ using top technology and aftersales support.
Anyways, there's many info here about them, you can research a little.
While it would be nice to have an extended battery, I wouldn't want to make that change because it would make my phone heavier and clunkier with the extended battery backdoor. Another big downside is that my case wouldn't fit anymore. To solve my own battery-life issues I keep a Duracell Powerhouse with me when I know that I'm going to need extra juice.

You can always choose a slim extended battery that fits your original phone socket and does not require an extra back.

I have heard that the "extended batteries" that are the same size as stock are counterfeit in the sense that they don't actually offer more capacity. Lots of scams and shady companies around extended batteries...
It's 'Moogin' baby. Seriously, this is just a name tag being placed on the battery. It looks too ugly for me to put it on my Skyrocket.
will check them out, thanks!
Mugen Power batteries are great if you can afford the entrance fee. Yeah, it's not some cheap knockoff from Ebay, but the quality and battery life is worth it. I recommend them. Here's a review I did of the extended batteries on the T-Mobile G2 if anyone's interested

Plus one for Mugen from my side. I've been recommending them for quite a long time now. Some experience to share: ordered a battery from them a month ago and nothing got delivered. I contacted them on facebook, and it turned out that the post lost my parcel...I was a little nervous cuz there was more than 150$ in it, but Mugen replaced all of it in a matter of days. Not just great batteries but awesome support as well.
Very good battery. Works flawlessly.
are mugen batteries available in india?
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.com is shipping to India
Any1 know a place where i can buy a Galaxy Nexus battery with NFC support that ships worldwide?
I bought 2 times from ebay, cause the guy post a picture says it would replace the battery for i9250, but when i got it here.. it had no NFC support...
Also, the battery i bought "Replacmenet for i9250" .. the 2100 one... gave me more then 1 and a half day of nice use....
so i wonder if i can get any 2000+ battery with NFC for cheap price :/
so i'm with 3x 1900 mah and 1x 2100 battery here... without any good use...
all cost me about $20 tho :X
Any1 know where i can get it chepaer with NFC?
Thanks!
i am intersted to know too , want to get one for my bf
don't think there are any nfc chip battery over 2100mah.
can give this extended battery a try:
http://www.amazon.com/QCell-Verizon..._1_3?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1331016908&sr=1-3
Mugen and Seidio's extended batteries now both support NFC - in addition to 2,000mAh models, they sell 4,000 and 3,850mAh models respectively but they include after-market battery covers that significantly increase the size of the handset.
If you don't want to double the thickness of your handset significantly though, you're only going to get about 2,000mAh max.
To be honest, I don't really think an extended battery is really worth IMO. That tiny battery life increase doesn't justify an extra $40 or so but that's just me.
Anywho, batteries that have NFC as well wouldn't cost only $20, they'd easily go over $40. Here's a link to an example of a genuine Samsung extended battery (2000mah, the max genuine extended battery) with a battery cover (the battery won't fit unless you have it). There are many others if you search it "Galaxy Nexus 2000mah battery" eBay (official ones that is).
The others are ridiculously thick and aren't too aesthetically pleasing.

I think people getting the 2100/2000mah battery (LTE/GSM) should think of it like a spare battery instead of an extended battery.
I don't know about others, but I only get an hour+ more time on the extended battery with moderate use. And if I think of it as a spare battery with NFC, $40 seems alright. (though I got mine at $25 from Verizon)

I'm sceptical of ebay, however 2430mAh without changing the dimensions of the phone, they have great feedback. Will this give me an extra 38% or so of battery life? Or is it probably just a sham...
looks interesting, the price is skeptikal but the posting of it seems legit.. at least in my own opinion, don't really know until someone orders it and runs a battery test
and just a FYI, the genuine 2000 mAh extended battery makes the phone bigger but barely... and the phone feels a lot better with the extended battery.
I'd consider buying it, really wouldn't mind someone else's opinion first though. I already have the 2200 man battery, so I'm not quite sure if this would be worth changing for...

if that battery is not bigger than the gsm 2000mah extended battery(ie it doesnt need a new back cover) theres no way its 2400mah. when it comes to batteries oem is the highest quality so an after market one will need to be bigger to give more juice. you are right to be skeptical about aftermarket battery they always bs their mah ratings.

the battery in the link is for the gsm nexus.
OP, that does not look legit at all.
Many times these batteries have a label showing a higher capacity...then when you peel it off the true capacity is underneath.
I'd bet its probably fake.

Agree with you although its surprising to me to see how Motorola could fit a 3300 mAh battery on a phone with a pretty slim-profile.

They also made it non-removable as well as ging it a huge bezel and a 4.3 inch screen, all while making it wider and only slightly shorter than the GNex.
This is a scam for sure. It's tempting though. But no.
Back in the g1 days. These "gold" cells did perform a lot better. Anybody care to try?

price = quality.
Having purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note as an alternative to a tablet/phone combination, I have also found myself often turning to it instead of even my laptop and this is something which no device has ever managed to offer me before. I am rather impressed, but this heavy usage comes at a cost and I only manage to scrape around 4-5 hours of battery life with my screen turned on 100% of the time as per tablet usage and would like to see this extended with the purchase of a larger battery for my Galaxy Note. I initially looked to 3250Mah batteries, which would not extend the size of the already pocket-bursting Galaxy Note, but the improvements I have seen are not worth the price tag. I am looking for the "best" battery for my Samsung Galaxy Note. Here is what I am ideally looking for from a battery...
Whilst I understand that a larger battery is going to increase the phone's overall size, I'm looking for one with as minimal an impact as possible.
If the battery does require a different back to the phone from the stock one, I want this to be white to match my phone and also of a sufficient quality that will protect the phone as these battery cases will prevent me purchasing a protective case for my phone.
Finally, I want a decently priced battery. As impressive as it may be. the $90 dollar Mugen isn't an option for me.
You should read the battery thread. You might want to try the Hyperion extended battery. Steer clear of the 3250mah batteries because those are actually worse than stock if I remember the thread correctly. The anker batteries are very good, better than stock, and you can get 2 for about $20

I don't really trust smaller companies or independent battery sellers. Try and stick to major companies like Seidio or Mugen. I personally prefer stock batteries. My experience is that those cheap ones DO last longer... 3 charges later they're worse than the OEM battery! Lol. Not to mention the attention paid to them is probably a lot less.
I honestly believe that if Samsung, or any company for that matter, could fit MORE MAH into the same size, they would do it. Most companies try and boast their large batteries. If they could spend 40 cents more in the manufacturing process and fit 3000 mah instead of 2500, they would.
Stick to OEM or Mugen (with whom I have experience and make decent batteries, but the cost of OEM vs Mugen decides it for me: OEM battery! Without a doubt).
Hi all,
I just scored a used Galaxy Nexus, Sprint version, on eBay. It seems to be in good working condition, however the battery cover is not flush against the battery. There's actually enough space there that when I shake the phone, the battery shifts up and down in its housing, clicking against the cover. Is this normal with this model, or should I quickly take advantage of the 14 day return period?
Definitely return. NOT normal.
I would GUESS you have a standard battery with a cover for an extended battery
After Googling around a bit and looking at photos of batteries, it looks like my battery may have been switched in from a different Samsung phone, possibly a Galaxy S II. I suppose I could order a Galaxy Nexus battery and hope for the best, but I think I'm going with the return option. Better luck next time, I guess.
Pics of this? I didn't know gs2 batteries fit

On further examination, I think you're right. Someone helpfully posted a serious of comparison photos on the Amazon listing for the Verizon extended battery/cover combo, and the extended cover looks pretty much like mine. Now the question is do I return the phone (since standard covers don't seem to be available anywhere), or suck it up and buy a bigger (heavier) battery for this one?

Personally, I use both the stock and extended Verizon battery, but I only keep the cover of the extended battery on me. Not once have I had an issue with the smaller battery shifting out of place. I'd say you keep it if there isn't anything wrong with the phone and even ask the seller if they happen to have the stock cover lying around anywhere.

If indeed you have the stock battery with the extended cover and don't wish to buy anything extra (although i would recommend getting the extended battery for longevity reasons aswell as fit) you could opt for the primitive fix: tape a piece of paper to the inside of the cover to hold it tighter.
