2430mAh batter - look legit? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....sPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en#ht_2408wt_1141
I'm sceptical of ebay, however 2430mAh without changing the dimensions of the phone, they have great feedback. Will this give me an extra 38% or so of battery life? Or is it probably just a sham...

looks interesting, the price is skeptikal but the posting of it seems legit.. at least in my own opinion, don't really know until someone orders it and runs a battery test
and just a FYI, the genuine 2000 mAh extended battery makes the phone bigger but barely... and the phone feels a lot better with the extended battery.

I'd consider buying it, really wouldn't mind someone else's opinion first though. I already have the 2200 man battery, so I'm not quite sure if this would be worth changing for...

if that battery is not bigger than the gsm 2000mah extended battery(ie it doesnt need a new back cover) theres no way its 2400mah. when it comes to batteries oem is the highest quality so an after market one will need to be bigger to give more juice. you are right to be skeptical about aftermarket battery they always bs their mah ratings.

the battery in the link is for the gsm nexus.

OP, that does not look legit at all.
Many times these batteries have a label showing a higher capacity...then when you peel it off the true capacity is underneath.
I'd bet its probably fake.

Agree with you although its surprising to me to see how Motorola could fit a 3300 mAh battery on a phone with a pretty slim-profile.

They also made it non-removable as well as ging it a huge bezel and a 4.3 inch screen, all while making it wider and only slightly shorter than the GNex.

This is a scam for sure. It's tempting though. But no.

Back in the g1 days. These "gold" cells did perform a lot better. Anybody care to try?

Any news on extended batteries?

Hey just want to know if anyone has heard anything about extended batteries, I would be very interested, I know its a bit early but you never know. Thanks.
Yeah I'm hoping for one that won't need a bigger back to it =/ wishful thinking perhaps

I'm interested too. Something in the 2500-3000 mah range would be pretty amazing. Innocell have not released anything for the Vibrant yet though. Sigh.

most if not all batteries that are rated more then OEM and are the same size, are actually even worse then OEM with lower rating....
and same for oversized batteries, if not OEM, then all ratings are bs. but of course it will give you anywhere from 30-40% more juice.
Last night I was reading something about Seido batteries, they claim to be 1750 but when you rip them apart, undernearth the fake 1750 badge that Seido puts on them, underneath is some kind of serial number or something that shows they are really 1300 batteries made by another company. Ouch
Just do a google search, the consipiracy should come up.

Yeah, check out nexus forum, those 1650-1750 batteries are really somewhere around 1300
Amzer has a 1600 mah battery on their site.

Just wanted to see if anyone has seen any news of an extended battery yet? I could really use one with the amount time I spend on the phone.

Carry another battery with you and you just double your juice nice and easy.
http://www.amzer.com/Amzer-1600-mah-Lithium-Ion-Standrad-Battery-P88958.htm
here's one from amzer, but I don't think a 1600mah will make a huge difference since ours is 1500mah? plus I don't know how good amzer batteries are, haven't really bought any third party batteries.
EDIT: oops nm someone already mentioned this battery, didn't see it
That's absolutely ridiculous how dishonest people can be about the MAH that's within the battery. Why lie? Create a price and sell them... people will buy. I am anxious for the 3500MAH that i had with my Nexus one. It last for 1 day and 2 hours (26 hours) even though it had that thick back replacement. I wouldn't mind making this phone a little thicker (preferable heavier) to make up for this cheap quality which compares to the nexus as a TOY! lol But I am in-love with this phone and soo need an extended batter. this batter slightly sucks. It's just ok.

Seidio extended battery... IT'S COMING!

I know many of us have been anxiously waiting to see for an extended battery option from Seidio (or other reputable 3rd party), but nobody has announced one for the Captivate until now. Finally:
http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/4411.htm
Unfortunately, no mention of price or when it will be released as it's currently "under development" but that they have added it to their store is exciting enough!
Yeah I just saw that too, and wow 3200mah is huge!
Do you think they will make a case for it? I have the body glove that was launched with the phone. I kind of like it. Has anyone purchased from these guys before? Any experiences to share. Did you buy a case? They made a huge battery for the EVO didn't they?
This means a battery about 2 times as thick as the current one, so expect a custom back with a bumpout for battery.
The Moto Droid 2800 extended battery is $69 so this one will be between $70 and $90 - I would rather have a spare battery or an external rechargeable charger for half the price. I would never make "The Captain" thicker. No pot bellies (or junk in the trunk) on my captain just a slim toned physique.
But Seido has always made a good product - usually they can take the current sized battery and squeeze a little more in - like an 1800mAh in the current size. I hope.
Has anyone actually tried to wrap their head around what this thing will look like?
Our fancy locking closure will either make this thing hideous or cause our phones to look like the back of an Incredible (which I don't mind personally, I liked the terraced back. It reminds me of the zen like nature of steppes carved into a mountain for hillside farming.)
Either way, I want one. I'm just actually trying to fathom the design, and what will happen to the sound quality being the speaker is built underneath the battery cover.
We'll see... I don't think it will be that bad, as the Evo battery only adds "5-6mm" to the phone and that is a 3500mAh battery. But given the option, I would prefer a battery in the range of 2200-2400mAh that only adds maybe 2-3mm. But beggars can't be choosers.
If they could crank out a 1800mAh "slim" battery that does not require a cover, that would be excellent as well. They have 1750mAh for the Incredible and Evo, so who knows.
I have one of their "big" 2600 mAh batteries for my old Bold 9000 and while it put hump in its back, it fit my hand great and having that extra power was fantastic. I'll get this when it comes out.
Im totally down for this hopefully they make the back tapered and not just a straight "step" up, I'm 6 foot 3 and consequently have large hands so I wouldnt even mind my phone being a lil bit thicker.

16 reviews for a company that has been selling accessories for many years (5 that i know of) is not much of a statistic.
I can tell you that, when I was a moderator for Qusers, many people bought from Seido and never had a problem. that doesn't mean there is no problem, but everyone I know that has bought from Seido was satisfied. Their products are regularly review by major blogs, and amazon shoppers give their cases 4.5/5.
I have shopped at hundreds of sites and never filled out a review for resellerratings - so I am not sure that they are the best source for any information.
From my knowledge of the company I would not hesitate to buy from them. if they put out a 2000mAh battery that is the same size as OEM, i will buy it in a second.
I would rather leave the internal battery in place and add a accessory cover with a priority battery slot. The internal battery might have to be replaced with one a mm or two shorter to allow room for the internal battery disconect. With an internal secondary and external primary, the phone could remain in operation during battery changes. Yes, this would add a hump, but I think the phone would fit my hand better...
mm.. I really rather have the same size format but a little more juice to it..1800mAh
how much more juice would that be compared to the standard 1500 :O

Anyone know of any extended life battery for this phone yet. This is insane this phone has been out a while there should be somethin. I saw the vibrant has a 3000mah, bout to get that and just stick it in without the back cover and throw a silicon case over to hold it in. Saw that amzer has a 1600 but thats almost not worth it.

"Samsung launches the Power Pack EBB-U10 for the Galaxy S i9000 in Germany. The Power Pack is an external battery that attaches to the back of the phone basicallt and offers 8.5 hours talk time and 500 hours of talk time."

extended battery from ebay

hi all, anyone tried one of these or have any views on them?

I would maybe try this one first
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2300mAh...ccessories&hash=item3f117fadeb#ht_5834wt_1413
i don't trust oversized. Also the Gnex requires that the battery has a NFC chip on it to be able to use the Gnex's NFC function
what's the capacity on the standard battery packs? That 2.3ah one you linked to does not look much bigger, do you also need a new back cover for that one?

Only $5.99 USD?
That's too good to be true ... most probably fake, I meant it contain less than 2300 mAH.
And it is for "Galaxy Nexus prime" ... bwahahaha ... Yeah, right!
Also, it does not look to have NFC.
I bought this one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/110797773716#ht_4338wt_905
It has NFC and it is (slightly) higher capacity. The back cover fits perfectly, and is almost identical to the CDMA GN back cover. Makes the device just a tad less concave near the bottom. Looks and fees better in my opinion.
I've ordered one of the 3,800 ones, I'll post a review when I get it!
Both the cheap ones do seem a bit too good to be true, but for the price of the so called 3800mah one I might try it and test it out.

Been thinking about this. I hate putting on huge battery packs so the 2000mAh was appealing. but $50 for such a small bump is hard to justify for me, especially considering I have no plans to get a desk charger and swap batteries.

I was thinking the same thing, but I went for it anyway. I bought it so I wouldn't have to swap batteries. The 2000mah battery has about 15% more capacity, so if you get say 12 hours on the regular battery, you should get 13.7 hours. If you get 18 hours, you should get 20.6 hours. As well, I find my GN feels much better in my hand with the extended battery: it is slightly heavier and less concave in the back (i.e., it looks like an LTE GN).

Longest lasting battery without bulk? Stock sized?

Do you guys have any recommendation on which battery to get?
especially the one that adds no bulk to the phones?
the 3,800 mah or above are marvelous, but I got this awesome body glove case and I don't want to get rid of it.
I need the stock size battery. I saw one on amazon that goes up to 1900 mAH ish
the 2000 mAH ish from that china website looks cool, but i don't want to order from an annonymous source.
So can anyone give me a battery brand, that's cheap, long lasting, and link to it please? thank you.

Honestly there isn't a better one than the OEM battery without going to an oversized battery. Even though some manufacturers advertise batteries with higher capacities like you mentioned, those batteries consistently underperform and are almost always worse than the OEM batteries in actual battery life.
The stock battery with cm9 and ho!no!'s kernel has decent battery life.

I agree too, their products are very reliable and the quality is superb, I bought an extended battery from them a few years ago for the Droid Inc and always got atleast 26+ hrs on it. Of course like any other battery, it too lost its juice after 2 years but I was very satisfied with its output. Right now there is no timetable on when the battery will be released (I sent Seidio an email and waiting for their response) but hopefully the battery isn't bulky enough that it sacrifices the phones' beauty.
