Ok fellow nerds, Android 4.2.2 & the Linux 3.8.0 kernels have started pre-alpha - test at your own risk & kinda buggy loads for a handful of devices.
My question is what are our superior kernel devs cooking up for us, or is it Intel chipset only?? Any clues or ideas? Let's hear what the people say!
According to rootzwiki
"Yesterday the latest release appeared, based on Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2, and running on the Linux 3.8 kernel. Along with other improvements is the ability to dual boot Android alongside Windows 8."

Petition "Broadcom: Release the Driver Source of GPU and CPU for BCM21553 devices"
Info frm the site :
If Broadcom release the drivers of GPU and CPU for BCM21553 devices, we should be able to run much more things than the one we can on custom OS. This will include CyanogenMod, AOSP, CyanMobile and lots of other differents OS. If they release the Source, we could have Ice Crean Sandwich 4.0.4 smooth on our device. Even we can think of first Jelly Bean port based on 4.1.2, 4.2.2 or even 4.3. Port of android 2.3.7 it has released stable release due to we used Alcatel GPU and CPU libs. They were similar to AOSP, so we could use it on our devices for CyanogenMod 7.2, AOSP, and CyanMobile. All of them based on android 2.3.7, because Alcatel uses AOSP 2.3.7 so we could use it easily.
This libs are not compatible with 4.X version of android due to they need modifications at source. This is why we need the source of that libs instead of the pre-built binaries Broadcom gave us.
The libs that Broadcom gave us were simply wrong libs, with the excuse of test builds.
Broadcom knew that there was lot of people complaining about the CM drivers, so they said, let's give us something to them to be them happy, but let's give them a test builds, not fully working, so they could not use it as a daily driver. Now that we know what was the meaning of this, we complain about the REAL source of libs. The ones can be adapted to our device for newer versions of Android.

I think you need a common file like with SlimICS, but I can't seem to find it. 70mb is on the small side for a JB rom

Huge thanks Val D. Should have had more coffee.lol
Completely missed the unsupported files on the slim site.
You have a great day!
No problem. Navigation on slimroms.net is a bit confusing. Unfortunately, they delete older builds. In my opinion build 6 was best 4.2.2 based Slim. If you are looking for a light and fast ROM, than try ported CyanCore v.4.0.0 (CM based) and GamerzROM v4.0, both stripped down versions of CM10.1, Android 4.2.2. Both are stable and good for daily use.
Guys .. I'm trying to develop my own rom based on Stock Acro S (JB .96) however there are many tutorials that are not giving a good development base for me, because there tutorials for ICS and JB using different tools and OS ...
I already developed my own kernel (not unlike the Stock Cabatro's .96) because I cant founding something concrete also talking about adding the governors / schedulers and modifying the frequency tables ... (I need help on this too)
In general wish someone would give me a faithful way forward to make the Beta ROM (Stock .96) and Kernel version modified to provide to users on forum for testing...
Any help on this would be great
(I Can Develop that on Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 8.1)
On 2012.05.28 ipaq3870 uploaded his last version of i8000 android kenrel. a kernel that is based on M910 (s3c6410) phone, modified for our device.
Two years later and after saw gingerbread running on our phone, even with some problems and lacks i decided to contribute, work and continue this project.
i want to modernize this kernel in order to make our froyo ROM faster and make gingerbread ROM with more features to work.
there are many sources over the internet. we only need some volunteers. no need for advanced linux/programming knowledge. some free time and will to study a little is necessary of course.
volunteers can contribute here

my last goal is to see latest version of 2.6 kernel on our phone. i do not think our old phone can ever execute 3.X kernel or run properly android ICS, JB etc
for those dreaming about it can conrtibute on erikcas 3.0 kernel for i8000 here

Hi,
I know, that sooner or later there will be a CM ROM based on Android 5.0 for our n7100. But it will be really nice to see pure AOSP ROM, compiled from sources of 5.0. I don't know, if is it possible, so I'm posting a question about it.
I remember I had i9000 long time ago, and somebody created AOSP 4.0 ROM for it - that was the best, most stable and fastest ROM I've ever used on i9000. Compiled from Google sources, without any add-ons. Hope to see Android 5.0 AOSP for n7100 sometime...
