[Q] Android 5.0 AOSP - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I know, that sooner or later there will be a CM ROM based on Android 5.0 for our n7100. But it will be really nice to see pure AOSP ROM, compiled from sources of 5.0. I don't know, if is it possible, so I'm posting a question about it.
I remember I had i9000 long time ago, and somebody created AOSP 4.0 ROM for it - that was the best, most stable and fastest ROM I've ever used on i9000. Compiled from Google sources, without any add-ons. Hope to see Android 5.0 AOSP for n7100 sometime...

[Q] Build AOSP ROM

Hello Developers
is someone able to create an AOSP (KitKat 4.4) ROM for our Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini? It would be great if we have a "vanilla" Android version for our Smartphone and this can be used as base for other ROMs. Would be great if someone could build it
Greetings

Most ROM are based on AOSP or CM (which CM is based on AOSP) :/
And if you want a minimum ROM, there's few ROMs are even less 'bloat' and more 'vanilla' than AOSP itself.
I think he meant that he wanted an actual aosp rom, not just an aosp based rom. While we don't have a pure "aosp" rom for our phones, cyanogenmod is pretty close, slimkat is also pretty bare if you're into that. I'm sure a lot of people could port it, it just remains to be seen if any developer is interested enough to actually do it.
Yes a pure AOSP ROM would be great. The whole ROMs which are aviable for our device are based on AOSP so I think it wouldn't be so difficult to build one from AOSP isn't it?

Slim kat is equal to Slim ROM? In that case there is already a port to the S4 mini in the developer section of this forum

[Q] Pure AOSP?

In my experience, it seems that pure AOSP builds have always been more stable and less buggy than cm or other aosp based roms. But I've also learned that it's a challenge to build purely from source. My question is, how likely is it for the g3 to get an AOSP ROM build from the main source?

Now that lollipop is officially out

Now that lollipop has officially been released to AOSP, do we still need to wait till LG releases their source code merged with Android 5.0 ? Or can devs simply grab it and compile from googles source code ?
Probably won't be able to get much functionality (i.e., it won't work!) until LG updates the hardware drivers.
Yeah.... I just mentioned this in another thread.... Any custom LP ROM that gets shared will be a hybrid.... Android LP built on top of LG's KK stuff (kernel, modems and drivers).
Not saying that it can't be done, but I would expect some issues... My only seat time with a ROM like that was running Kitkat builds for my Galaxy S3 back when KK was first released. If I went a day with only a couple of reboots, I was lucky (every time it switched from WiFi to mobile it would panic boot, for instance). And that was just a 'minor' upgrade (4.3 to 4.4).....
The unofficial CM rom is working really well for me and it is still in alpha. I think by December we should have some pretty stable 5.0 AOSP roms.
The Pac 5.0 rom is very stable, the only thing I found wrong with it was the IR Blaster

Build AOSP Lollipop ROM

Hello Devs,
I think the new Lollipop version is great but at the moment we only have CM12 ROMs for our S4 Mini. Can someone of you build a pure AOSP Lollipop ROM for our device that other dev's can use as base for other ROMs? I do not like CM and at the moment I'm using SlimKat but it looks like there is no update to SlimLP in the next days so it would be great if someone can build a pure AOSP LP ROM.
I would do it for myself but I have no experiance in ROM development. I found this thread but I'm not sure how to add our device. Also I found this and this repo on GitHub but I do not know which from them (or maybe both?) I need to compile the ROM or if I have to change something on them because they are for CM and not for AOSP. It would be great if someone can teach me these steps because this is often my problem when I try to learn something about Android ROM developemnt.
Yours sincerely
Cilenco
Cm12 at the moment is just aosp, give it a try it's very good

Most stable ROM

Hello guys.
Could you please suggest me the most stable ROM (your opinion) for my GALAXY NEXUS i9250 ?
I am not interesting in latest Android features I am interesting in stability.
Thanks !
Unlegacy Aosp KitKat 4.4.4 with kernel 1gb is speed and estable.
I've tried android 6 and 7, and for me android 5.1 (CM12.1) is the best blend of stability and newness. Things multitask well, and I don't get video crashes. Unfortunately it's not being updated anymore, and I don't know if or when the newer releases will be as stable. But for now, it's new enough, because the last build I've found is not even a year old yet!
i think the slimrom 6 is my choice because it's stable but when install too many app it will lag again.

Hello, sorry to bother you. Does anyone have a download link please? In the CM thread the links are dead unfortunately. Thanks.
same here.. any working links for the latest CM 5.1 ?
LOS 14.1 works stable for me. You just need to turn off the system animations.
