Not sure if your version have or not the NFC chipset , but the simplest way is try to download any NFC related app, eventually try AirDroid as some app’s wont be installed thru the marketplay …
Hope that help
On the I777, it was possible to get NFC (minus Google Wallet) with some smali hacks in Settings and a permissions XML.
I believe the ICS leaks enable it.
This is better discussed in your device-specific forum.
Most of the roms I've tested have the option available to enable in settings. If not, you can check this thread

I have the Moto App installed and still get the unknown tag error message. If what else I've read is true, NFC has different profiles, sort of like how some of my BT headsets don't support A2DP even though it's Bluetooth.
I will try the Sony one in a bit though, thanks.
*EDIT* just tried the sony one, didn't work either.

interesting, what is exactly the model of your headset ….
Normally your H-Set should be AD2P …
I will try the Moto App’s and try to see what type of NFC code he his waiting ..
for the sony is normal it doesn’t work as what the app’s have to read is writing only in the sony accessories … i have made working the speaker Nokia 360 with the HOX i have and work like a charm … so i didn’t see why your H-Set Moto won’t work with your Note …
let me see that case

The model's the Elite Flip, maybe it doesn't work because I'm not sure if the NFC's offical, I'm running an ICS leak, and I know AT&T for whatever reason doesn't want NFC enabled in the i717. I don't have the international version if that makes any difference.

That don’t made any change, the biggest difference is you have the NFC enabled or not … in the other hand i have see the MotoSoftware is not that much open in AD2P like he must be. But let me figure out , how give a kick in the nuts to both ATT & Moto and made the things work like a Charm.
i will get back to you soon

[Q] Xperia NXT v.v1.3 HID Support

Hi everyone !
i wish to know if sobody know if this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649368
Xperia NXT v1.3 Supports HID Devices...
i own an Nokia Su-8w Keyboard and using Cyanogenmod 9.1 but its very unstable to me to rely on to colege... so i wish to know if this rom supports it or if there is an software to use it, ive tried: Bluez IME, and Keyboard Easy Connect, but the first doesn't has support to many of the Keys, and the other uses superuser and keeps popping out with the info that the SU has given permissions and that stuf, realy annoying.
thanks, to anyone who reads and reply !
As far as I know the xperia play doesnt support hid devices. I can confirm bluetooth does work with the xperia play btw. HID is a hardware issue not software.

well in fact isn't a hardware problem 'cause i've been using it in cyanogenmod 9.1 and it work in native way without any piece of additional software, and in stock rom either .47 .58 .62 with BluezIME and or Bluetooth Keyboard easy connect, but they doesn't work so well as the native cyanogenmod 9.1 does.

Did you already tested?. I will try tonight but I think this requires wifi direct, but lets see.
Requires WiFi direct and compatible, powerful enough hardware (Snapdragon S4 and beyond). That means no love for us.

WiFi Direct have not hardware limitations, it limited only by sertification of devices. And Xperia S is not sertificated only because of Sony. I currently investigating how to port and enable WiFi Direct and screen mirriring for Xperia S for month. The problem is that qualcomm has not released wifi drivers with p2p functionality for S3 processor which we have. BUT on test firmware of HTC Sensation WiFi Direct seen working, and i currently searching for files in that ROM which i must copy. If anyone could help - try to find what files, drivers, libs etc. are needed to setup this features.
Sorry for bad English - i am from Ukraine

Why do you think so? If WiFi Direct have no such limitations, and Screen Mirroring which working over WiFi Direct, why it should have such limitations. It is open source technologies, but it is very strange open source - i couldn't find any sources on the web. So it's up to us to find how it work.
I investigated that there is only one device in the world wits Snapdragon S3 8260 which have WiFi Direct in official firmware - it is Asus Eee Pad MEmO 171. i have it's firmware, but it is in raw disk image formate and it didn't opening in any utility. Could someone help? link to firmware 625 Mb

Because S3 isn't powerful to run it without problems. It's like: you have an Ferrari with all of their goodies, but a VW Fox engine and put it to race against other normal Ferraris. It will go? Yes, but won't win.

[Q] Display Mirroring

Some time ago I heard that Sony brings Display Mirroring on the Xperia S, but they didn't? Is there any possibility to add this feature to the official Rom or does a Custom-Rom contain this feature?
Display mirroring isn't on any S3 powered-devices because the processor isn't powerful enough to run it at an acceptable speed, so that's why we don't have it.
Anyways, is there any possibility to try it, even if it would hardly work?

Well, software part shouldn't be hard. But I don't know how to do it, sadly.
Is it possible to extract the necessary app from the Xperia Z or another phone?

[APP][PORT] Location Based Wifi for Lollipop

Introduction
So many people were asking so, here's the Location Based Wifi used previously by Sony on KitKat.
I have adapted the app to work on Lollipop and I have also add the possibility to launch as a regular app from your Launcher to avoid any modification of Settings.apk.

Hit Thanks and Install it as any apk

You'll have to modify the xml files in your settings.apk and repack it.
if it doesn't work for you, just get Smart Wifi Toggler from Play Store instead.
IMHO the best alternative solution for location based WiFi is Llama, a great apk which uses phone masts (no gps) to determine your wifi.
I use it for a long time and it works great.
There is a newer version for Lollipop on the homepage of the dev - google for it -
BTW thx @niaboc79 for porting it.

This is made to be useful.
When I am leaving my house, Wifi is automatically turned off and when I am coming back, it is turned on.
Wifi always on when not used should drain battery so I think it may help with that app.

Same here. Really liked this feature and it was a shame Sony got rid of it. Their reason made no sense at all and they didn't really back it up with anything.
I've been using Wi-fi Matic in the past: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.cprados.wificellmanager&hl=en.
Its pretty similar to Smart Wifi toggler.
