My hometown of Fernandina beach, Florida. Has lte up and running went to visit family and the 4g icon was glowing.
15 down 3 up was the peak.
Smart move for sprint to cover outlying areas first then move into major cities.
Now if they could get it up in Jacksonville.
I would really be excited.

Yeah, nothing official on that site, but they really seem to know what's going on. They're projecting an August/September timeframe for the LTE to come on around Chicago which makes me happy. I'm going to have a hard time waiting with just 3G as it's horrid around this area, but hopefully they'll start getting it together soon.
@hayzooos Yeah I'm in ATL Ga, and they have been testing here for some time now.
So should be turned on here soon

Looks like the Detroit area is getting left out of the fun again. First no wimax, now its looking like we're not invited to the lte party either... What is their obsession with the Grand Rapids area? Is there a corporate headquarters there or something? On the bright side, I'll at least get a good signal when I go out that way to my cottage during the summer!

DC looks to be getting some LTE love soon. AWWWW YEEAAAAHHH
Any NYC love?
Anyone know or estimates when NYC would be getting LTE?
just wondering...where the heck are the LTE settings in the menu? i looked all over and didn't notice anything about 4g
Yea Baltimore and DC should be online really soon! Cant wait!
I found it under mobile networks or something like that. Choose the option that has lte and cdma but there's no actual on of toggle for it. When you change the setting your phone will reboot
Settings>more settings> mobile networks>network mode

S4 lists Seattle area LTE going on early in the second round... Wonder when it will be up for testing... and if someone can modify our modems to take advantage of it?

Can't wait to get LTE where I am. Should be done in a few months they say.
Is lte like Wimax where you have to turn it on and off to use or is it like hspa where it's on always?
My life for Aiur
Will our phones just have a 4g indicator at the top when using it? My area is rolling out and done by Fall but I heard it was possible to get some reception as they keep building towers throughout the Summer.
So yesterday a sprint article came out saying they were rolling out 4g lte in over 100 cities over the coming months. I can confirm that boston has towers currently active.
This is probably just sprint yesting the towers as ots very intermittent however while connected speeds are very good.

Discuss this here
Saw my phone flip over to 4g while walking to get lunch in Van Nes the other day. Seems the 4g coverage is rapidly spreading within DC. Before it only turned on around the white house and union station. Now I'm starting to pick it up even on the edge of the city. And its getting decent speeds. Not as good as my AT&T phone on LTE... but a hell of a lot better than what sprint claims as 3g.
Now need to make it to Arlington.
Looks like you had a marginal signal of LTE with that speed.

So does the tmo gs3 have the premium suite aka multi window?
Or should I just get the gn2
No, but custom ROMs do
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
None of the US S3's have official Multi-window. The mod is for roms with 4.1.2 and there are some roms with 4.1.2
Actually I believe sprint, verizon and US cellular has the 4.1.2 update for their s3's. Honestly I found that multi Window is only useful when taking notes from the web or you cant copy n paste something to use in other app. But yeah to get multi window you would have to flash a custom rom. We have some good ones with multi Window. Tmobile probably wont give our s3 4.1.2, they just gave it to the s2 though, but we will be getting 4.2 after release of the s4 which is when 4.2 touchwiz will be officially released. Also will be getting 5.0 when that comes out.

is tmo generally only good in cities? Is coverage better than sprint?
Depends, I live in Scottsdale, AZ (basically Phoenix) and my signal fluctuates all over the place. If I'm outside I usually always have 3-4bars or 95ish dBm of HSPA getting 15-20ish mbps. As soon as I get inside a building signal goes to 2ish bars, sometimes to edge. It really varies where I'm at. I have friends in the same exact spot as me and we do a speed test, and they are about 8mbps below me on average, so I'm going to strongly say T-Mobile is better, where I live and hang out at.
Just look at their little map if they cover your city, generally they don't cover a lot of rural areas.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
check the map and look up your area. Tmobile covers most of the U.S. and major cities. Im using straight talk, using tmobile signal towers and sim, live in Miami, and almost always have full bars, rarely ever been under 4 bars. Also get 14-16 mbps average, always getting hspa+ even in moving car/bus. Would highly recommend tmobile if in well populated area.
Sent from my Galaxy s3 using xda premium
I used to work at sprint and their service is spotty at best. Their lte is a joke and has no building penetration whatsoever. The fact that I couldn't stream music while working out was the kicker and I went back to good service...tmobile! I was getting free service with sprint and still hated it.

The general thread is 100's of pages long and may or may not be helpful.
Discuss your experience in the Midwest. Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan area. (and any state I left out in midwest)
Recently Chicago near town has jumped from kb speeds to 10+ mb speeds which is/was long overdue.
Still downtown you cant pick up 4g or its spotty if you do at all.
You could just search for your city within that thread and see what comes up, and then post your own experience
No.
