MIDWEST -CHICAGO etc - LTE discussions here, where, when, how fast! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

The general thread is 100's of pages long and may or may not be helpful.
Discuss your experience in the Midwest. Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan area. (and any state I left out in midwest)
Recently Chicago near town has jumped from kb speeds to 10+ mb speeds which is/was long overdue.
Still downtown you cant pick up 4g or its spotty if you do at all.

You could just search for your city within that thread and see what comes up, and then post your own experience

No.

4g in LI is a secondary market, but I bet they are already starting to change to Network Vision. The whole Island will have 4G LTE by mid to late 2013. As soon as the NYC market is finished your area will get a LTE bath.
I saw on the S4GRU map that Queens and parts of Hempstead was already being worked on for Network Vision.
yeah ive been hoping those predictions are true... i work in queens and am in NYC often, but haven't had to much 1x experiences there yet...
hear NYC should be by the end of this year, so hopefully wont have too long of a wait...
Dying for some LTE in the city and Bx, my phone is pretty much like a dummy model when I'm at work.

If that is CM I see it might just be a bug where it isn't displaying 1X/3G properly.....

4g in DC? About damn time!

Saw my phone flip over to 4g while walking to get lunch in Van Nes the other day. Seems the 4g coverage is rapidly spreading within DC. Before it only turned on around the white house and union station. Now I'm starting to pick it up even on the edge of the city. And its getting decent speeds. Not as good as my AT&T phone on LTE... but a hell of a lot better than what sprint claims as 3g.
Now need to make it to Arlington.
Looks like you had a marginal signal of LTE with that speed.

yeah, southern queens/nassau border has some, and northern manhatten. i guess they are expanding now. i don't know if i'm going to live long enough to see 4g in my area (north shore li), but whatever. lol.. my girlfriend lives in forrest hills, the only time i used wimax was at her place.
4g in ny has been locked twice I think
You gotta use the matter thread in the sticky event though having one just for nyc seems like a good idea to me

LTE makes it's way to Boston.

I started having problems with data this morning and noticed LTE 4G was popping up then dropping signal, in order to maintain coverage I had to deselect LTE in network settings but the point of the thread is to make it known that it is being implemented today for Boston.

That is also the point of this other thread. Instead of having a thread for every city, there is one to rule them all.

+1 I'm in the Taunton area, just south of Boston and I've had LTE coming in and out for a few days now actually.
On a side note (and not at all to go off topic, but it must be said)

LTE spotted in Amherst, MA....FRICKIN' AMHERST MA!!!

So I just flashed over to Wicked v4 this morning and noticed the LTE icon. At first I thought it was just another fluke, showing LTE instead of 4G or H+. I only had 1 bar vs my normal 4 which is normal if I'm using the fast APN instead of epc in a non LTE area (none of western MA is on LTE). Yet, low and behold, when I switched my network to GSM/WCDMA only the icon changed to 4G. "What the....", I thought to myself, so I changed back to LTE and the icon reappeared. Alright then time to check status in Settings. HOLY SH#$! LTE!
THANK YOU T-MOBILE!
For reference my normal speeds were 11ish down and 2 up.
Easy there killer. I know your excited but there is an Lte thread right below yours. Calm your Tits and have a wonderful morning

If you don't care, don't comment. If no one cares the thread will die and that'll be the end of it.
My excitement is warranted and my thread is certainly as worthy as others. With Boston just getting on the official LTE track, having it in a "rural" area of mountains and tobacco fields and dairy farms kinda stands out in my opinion. And apparently the opinion of tmonews.com as well.
And TBDBITL to @sweets55.
