Hi.
I hope that I choose the right section. I have a Samsung Galaxy SIII GT-9300. Lets say that i was full and wanna try something else so I downloaded the Samsung Galaxy S3 ToolKit flash recovery insecure image with TWRP, rooted and unlock the bootloader, because I wanna try the Ubuntu Phone. Well later on I found that TWRP wasn't the right choice and because I follow the tutorial probably wrong way I wipe everything. Then I tried to install the cm-10 and error show up. I tried to google it and almost everywhere I read that I need CWM 6. But here is the problem I have on my phone just TWRP and nothing else. How do I put back Android System? I need a help! I spend 2days googling testing and haven't found solutions that works.

You can boot into twrp means of course you can boot into download mode. Or go and ask nandroid backup file for ur device with som1 in that section. Place it on your extrnal memory using adopter and pc and restore backup via TWRP.

So after rooting my recent Tmobile GS3 and then attempting to flash the overclock my phone simply wont turn on. The root did fine, and I was able to install setcpu and everything but the second I installed the overclock my phone shut down. Now whenever I attempt to turn my phone it just flashes the Samsung insignia and then it shuts down. I can get to the Downloading screen (by pressing Volume down + power + home) but can I do anything about that? If someone can help me out that would be amazing. Thanks.
Also, I tried flashing a stock rom with Odin and it keeps failing. If anyone knows anything thank you.
Can you get into recovery? Volume up + home + power
If so then flash back to a nandroid backup or to a new rom or whatever.
If recovery wont boot, try again but look for blue text at the top right corner that says "booting recovery" when the sammy logo comes up. I've had it where my recovery wouldnt boot but I saw that for a split second when I tried. If this is the case, get back into download mode and flash the insecure boot + cwm again with Odin. Then you should be able to get into recovery.
If Odin fails to flash, reboot you're computer and try a different USB cable.

If you can get to download mode, then you're probably in good shape.
There are a few tricks that can be found in this thread:

Just make sure when you odin/flash something, you are flashing the correct image for your phone/carrier.

well I thought I'd give it a try using instructions here. and now I'm hosed. I was able to root and install the ALLINONE (Insecure Boot, CWM & Busybox) rebooted, super user showed up in apps etc. I thought everything was fine. the next thing I tried was disable boot up animation and now the phone won't boot up at all.
I can get into the recovery and download screens but whenever I try to restore I get "can't mount /sdcard/"
The toolkit no longer sees my phone either. When it's plugged in and the toolkit is active, it just cycles over and over "samsung" then "Samsung Galaxy SIII" logo then black screen repeat.
The toolkit keeps giving message either "device not found" or "Waiting for USB debugging to be enabled".

I tried that a few times to no avail and gave up. figured out that I needed to unzip the stock rom from t-mobile in order for Odin to recognize and load it. That's where I left it last night. So I'm now back to stock and reloading all my apps and settings.
I'm ok with that, this is my first go at flashing/rooting. My phone works ... and for that I'm breathing a little easier. thanks for your reply!

I'm very comfortable with flashing and using custom roms, I've been doing this since the original Droid.
I rooted my GS3 right after I got it, and it was great until the OTA updates started coming out too quickly.
I like having root use, so I decided to flash the new blazer rom, I always liked the one for the gs2.
So I download it, put it on external SD, go to clockworkmod, nandroid backup, wipe data/factory reset twice, flashed the rom.
It won't turn on. It just buzzes, shows the samsung screen and shuts off.
Fine, it doesn't work i guess. So I go to put it back in recovery. NOTHING. just buzzes a few times, that's it.when charging while off it shows the battery icon, but when i hold volup home button and power it acts like it's going into recovery, then shuts off.
I don't know what to do I've never had an issue getting any phone into recovery.

Did you try unplugging the phone, pull the battery, reinstall battery and then boot to recovery? If that won't work or volume down for download mode then I would say likely bricked.

Nope, brick is that...a brick, does absolutly nothing, no power, no buzz, no LED, no nothing.
Soft brick, some sign of life, like they describe in OP "Samsung screen come up, then phone buzzes and shuts off".

If you took any OTA, Samsung patched the stock recovery to rewrite itself everytime it boots. I suggest you odin VALEN (LEN stock 100% stock), and start the rooting process all over again. Look up QBKing77's videos on youtube on how to unroot SGS3 and how to root it and you'll be back to where you want to be.
Blazer didnt brick your phone. You did by accepting the consequences of flashing a 3rd party rom on your device. the warnings are in post 1 of his thread

The point is that when I flashed that rom, the phone stopped working. period. I understand he isn't liable for anything that happened. but it doesn't mean his rom didn't cause the problem.

I think whoever said that if i had ever accepted an OTA update a few comments ago hit the nail on the head. my kids were playing with the phone and accepted it about a week ago. it didn't work obviously, but i guess it re-wrote something that is causing this issue. I'm going back to stock whenever the VPALEN stock rom is done downloading. It seems sprint or google or samsung doesn't like us to mess with the phones, and keeps putting out "fixes" for people who have rooted. it'd be nice to watch my movies on there without worrying about the drm but at this point I'd just like my too damn expensive phone back lol.

This is exactly what I was about to suggest. File corruption is actually quite common and you can get a bad download just by downloading a file straight to your phone. Try re-downloading the file on PC, then transfer it to the device.
T999 Variant of the phone
I have just installed TWRP Recovery, and now the phone doesn't want to boot into recovery mode, I'll pull the battery, hold power+up volume+home button and it'll say RECOVERY BOOTING.. Then I'll sometimes get the samsung galaxy s III logo, but most of the time nothing will happen and it just says RECOVERY BOOTING... then goes to a black screen until I repress the buttons. The phone WILL still boot up into this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2089801
I have no idea what to do.
You linked to the Verizon version of TWRP. I hope you didn't flash that one. Use the one in my signature.
1.) try reinstalling twrp recovery through goo manager (make sure it's for your phone)
Or
2.)Boot your phone up normally, go to the play store and download rom manager. Once in rom manager, install cwm (clock work mod recovery) then try booting into recovery.
|When Emotion Goes Up, Logic Goes Down|
You need to let go of all the buttons when you see the blue text.
If you keep holding them, it will do exactly as you described.

Personally, I just use a "reboot to recovery" app or function in an app (such as goo manager) - that way no need to hold down buttons and time it right.
If you have a custom ROM, it will often have that option when you hold down the power button.

Was using the Galaxy S3 toolkit to update cwm, went to flash an AOSP rom intended for d2att models, went to reboot the device... It flashes the samsung logo briefly then sits at a black screen with a solid amber LED. ODIN does not see it, my PC sees the device but I can't flash anything at all. Can't get to download mode either holding the power and any combination of the volume keys does nothing. Someone please help point me in the right direction to fix this. Thanks in advance.
If or PC sees it u could check and see if ADB sees it and maybe wipe and flash from there

I have been trying to root my GS4 since Friday. It will not work. I have the Tmobile version M919.
I did the motochopper one on my Main Win7 computer it fails.
Did it it on the netbook win 7 failed.
Did it on the mac and it failed.
So, I decided to do the oden thing. Well I get to where it says passed. But when I try to boot into recovery it is the android recovery and not CWM. What the heck is going on. Ben at this for 3 days and it is driving me crazy. A friend of mine just got the ATT one. I sent him the info to root it on the mac he did it within 10 min. Mine won't do it. I am wondering if Tmobile has something to do with this. I got an update from them a few days ago.
Anyone have info to fix this problem or is it just me? The only other possible thing that I can think of is this. I have a GS2 and it is rooted. I signed in with my google info on the GS4 which brought some of my rooted apps and some of my superuser, rootchecker and stuff lilke that. Would that stop it from rooting? Sorry for the misspelling.

Showed it passed. It rebooted. I chose shut down. Pulled cord out volume up, home button power and the android system recovery comes up. Did this 3 times as far as trying to get into the recovery. I don't get it. Should I do a factory reset on the phone or something just to pull my root checking app, super user stuff off there. Also I did run the zip file a few times earlier today. It did something weird. After the phone rebooted it just kept playing this music over and over. Sounded like upbeat church music I would hear on a Sunday morning.

The phone is off. I push down volume up, home button down and then hit the power button. It comes up galaxy s4 and then I let off the power button and about that time the android recovery comes up. Happens every single time. I have rooted every single phone that I have had. I used to work at a cell phone shop here in Dallas. I am going to make some calls tomorrow and see if I can find someone else to root it and see if they have the same problems. But this should be a no brainer I would think. I just can't figure out why it is not working.
