Help please urgently needed.
I need a stock backup of JB on telecom nz. CID TELNZ001. with s on
or a firmware.zip with JB and hboot included.
Reason: MAINVER IS HIGHER THAN ANY MAINVER THAT EXISTS IN THE WORLD.
it was updated in the androidinfo.txt.... so it permently updated the mainver. unable to roll back to stock ICS as mainver is newer.
and there is no RUU for JB on telnz001.
even if there was a RUU, it would result in an error as mainver is newer than ANY JB firmware in the world 3.76.xx.
many attempts of trying firmware.zip, rom.zip ruu, flashing through fastboot, ruu mode etc all do not work.
i can restore to stock ICS software by changing androidinfo.txt to match my mainver..... but with OTA updates it results in constant rebooting or rebooting into fastboot as mainver is newer than OTA update.
and yes when i tried all this i relocked bootloader, reflashed stock boot and recovery, tried many different boot.img, recovery.img files. nothing seems to work
and 9/10 times a zip is ALWAYS corrupt.
IF ANYONE HAS JB TELNZ001 nandroid or firmware.zip could they please upload, also needed hboot so JB works thanks
You need a ICS nandroid backup or a lower version than that. Your bootloader says 1.12 hboot, that's not a JB hboot.

No i dont, i need a JB firmware.zip / rom.zip or a nandroid backup, i have hboot1.39 for telnz001 which i can flash IF i get the nandroid backup.
IF i put ICS on it WILL crash on OTA updates, it reaches the 2.17 update and CRASHES it boots and reaches the ring lock screen and restarts, i have tried this dozens of times, with my own ics backup, other ics backups, extracting the rom from telecom nz ruu (ics) and everytime it crashes after the OTA.
By flashing hboot 1.39 for my own carrier i will be able to use JB TELNZ001 this is why i am asking for it, as a last resort i created a username and password specifically for this question as i have been trying to revert back to stock ( and have it FULLY UPDATE WITHOUT FAIL ) to JB and have not been able to as it fails,
after doing this i have updated kernals and other img files, and have not been able to get it to fully boot after the OTA update.
You say you have the firmware for the 1.39 hboot, yet you ask for a JB nandroid and a JB firmware. I read it very clear in your OP
No i have the hboot 1.39 FILE, NOT THE FIRMWARE, the firmware i said i had was ICS stock, which when i update it FAILS ALL the time. i made that clear, if i had the firmware for JB i wouldnt be asking for nandroid backup... all i am asking for is the nandroid backup of jb telnz001 as all i have is the ICS nandroid, ruu , firmware.zip and rom.zip, which all of the above when installed refuse to flash properly or boot, its not even the JB update it crashes on, its the update just before the JB update. However i did say i have the JB firmware OTA zip, which is USELESS as it CANNOT be flashed
Edit : nevermind !
I wish you al the best and good luck to find a nandroid.
Mr Hofs said:
Then you might have used the wrong words. The file to update the hboot to 1.39 is the firmware. And the firmware you speak of as ics stock is the nandroid backup ics !

So do i , i obtained the hboot 1.39 from an OTA JB zip file, whch in a way i supose is firmware. but there is no way to install the zip file onto ics. or is there? its not flashable and contains recovery.img hboot 1.39 boot.img and a system folder and a few other things, if the folders were img files i would just flash these and wouldnt have a problem.
i guarantee if i can obtain a nandroid backup of JB it will work, i have been susessfull on another htc one with a very similar problem, but the problem is i cant use their nandroid they are no longer in the same town , so i am unable to use it untill one is available to download

Paste the firmware.zip in your fastboot folder.
THen
1. fastboot oem lock
2. fastboot oem rebootRUU
3.fastboot flash zip firmware,zip
The hboot is upgraded. But you cant boot up cause tou are locked.
Again unlock with fastboot and your unlock_tocken.bin
A standalone firmare.zip is flashable. But i don't know if it can be extracted directly from the ota. Search in the collection of firmare updates. Maybe there is news about that
The firmare can be flashed with
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmare.zip
These commands and the right firmware will update the hboot to 1.39.
The only question is if you can flash the firmware.zip without it needing to be modified or not ?
i can flash a modified or unmodified firmware.zip easly with adb / fastboot with phone in RUU mode, the only problem is the contents in the OTA update are folders so its not flashable, i zip boot.img hboot file recovery.img and system.img and androidinfo.txt name it firmware.zip and flash it... the problem is i can not find the system img which has JB contents, as the zip contains apks, folders and files and its not flashable lol. hence why im asking for someone to upload nandroid backup , or a firmware.zip containing JB as i can put my TELNZ001 hboot file in the zip and susessfully flash JB onto my hox
Maybe you can ask here too about a firmware ?

contained in the ota update is many files folders and img, except system img its just a dir folder, there is a firmware.zip but its corrupt. actually almost every zip i extract from or download (flashable ones) are ALWAYS corrupt, and i have noticed MANY peol;e have this issue.
also if i put ics on and ota it boot loops regardless of weather im locked or unlocked, regardless of boot img, recovery or even flashing kernal no matter what still boot loops
I think the firmware.zip is encrypted and not corrupt.....

thanks dude, i asked there and they updated the link.. but its still 1.29 (ics)
i have a file named
OTA_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_Telecom_NZ_WWE_3.17.781.2-2.17.781.3_release_304681lsq8o9k2p8n4minf.zip
it contains firmware.zip with hboot.139 in it, i cant flash as it comes back unknown error 99
regardless of locked or unlocked bootloader.
i tried extracting files, and editing androidinfo.txt to match my mainver, but still comes back with an error.
is there any other way to flash the hboot? i have the img itself, and still have the original ota update zip but its not flashable
OK so i can only run one rom.
stock ics
any other rom will not boot, even after flashing boot.img i really just want to get this phone working
Hi, not sure if you have managed to find a nandroid backup for TELNZ001 stock firmware yet, but if you're still searching for it, here it is:

I've been trying to reset my HOX to stock for OTA JB update, but it keeps going into boot loops in which the only solution is to hold down the vol_down to go into bootloader.
I've been following vladnosferatu's method 2:
Extract the rom.zip from RUU of your CID (google how extract ruu.exe)
-fastboot oem readcid (to know your CID)
Extract boot.img, system.img, signed_recovery.img from rom.zip
Flash
-fastboot flash recovery signed_recovery.img
-fastboot flash boot boot.img
-fastboot flash system system.img
-fastboot erase cache
-fastboot oem lock
Power on the phone
Run the RUU exe file (of your CID) and upgrade your phone

the bootloops start after oem lock.
I tried ClydeB1's noob-friendly method first, but it won't work since I'm already on 2.xxxxxxxx, and it refuses to downgrade to 1.xxxxxxxx
and I was on Renovate rom before this.
I have reset to Stock from Renovate once before, but now I can't seem to do it again. I have adb, fastboot and RUU(and extracted rom.zip)
What should I do? I've considered re-flashing CWM, flashing a Renovate again and restart the entire process, but I would like to confirm whether it would work first.
Thanks in advance for all responses!
UPDATE: I have just realised that there are 2.14 and 2.17 RUUs for my .707. I am now downloading those and trying if re-applying the steps using the updated RUUs will work.
Seriously .......WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE 2 MINUTES TO MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP !!!!
if you upgraded the hboot you can only revert to stock when JB OTA is availabe for download an flash.

My hboot is 2.x, but it's not even the JB hboot of 3.x. I have been able to flash ROMs just fine on 2.x, so why can't I revert to stock? The 2.x hboot is obtained from stock OTA in the first place, too.
Just download the 2.17.707.3 RUU, then put your device is fastboot mode, relock the bootloader - fastboot oem lock
Then in fastboot mode too, run the RUU... you will for sure be on stock rom; there is no need to extract this and that and bla bla bla
And there is a JB OTA awaiting for your device

Hi ckpv5, I have also noticed that the 3.14.707 and 3.17.707 RUU has been uploaded. Can I just RUU the 3.17.707, skipping the manual 2.17.707? Because the only reason why I'm reverting to stock, is to update my hboot to 3.x, so that I can flash JB ROMs. Bypassing the 2.17-3.17 OTA would save quite some time.
Ya... I would do that if I were you... straight away run the 3.14 RUU instead of 2.17; but the RUU comes out after I did the OTA. So not so sure if it works that way but theoretically it should.
Just a note, the JB RUU, you cannot do the extract thingy.. so just relock the bootloader and run the RUU.
-- question deleted cause I saw some numbers wrongly that caused confusion =/ --
Hehe no ....just got bored from the one v forums ...nothing new happening

Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work. The 3.14 gives me an error saying something about finding the right RUU for my device. Now downloading 2.17.707. Man htcruu downloads keep timing out halfway and I have to restart over and over :crying:
UPDATE: Yeah so it seems I had to RUU 2.17, and manually get 3.14 from OTA in order to upgrade. Can't skip that step.
I have HTC One X international
with cid HTC_621 (Chunghwa - TW version *.*.751.*)
I was trying to upgrade to JB using the factory RUU, but never got to that point.
First I flashed the new firmware/bootloader(?) in the xda thread
firmware collection
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376
using
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
I hadn't downloaded the ruu image back then, so I proceeded to boot the phone as usual.
When I booted the phone I got boot loops.
Now I am trying to use the original ics ruu, but it says battery is below 30%, even though it looks as if the phone is totally charged(LED is green).
Is it possible the phone is not charging
I am trying fastboot, and
Code:
fastboot devices
lists the device. However most commands return an error (command write failed , or something like that)
How do I flash the ICS RUU, or get the phone working again?
Thanks for any help
You've updated the firmware, but not the ROM. You need to install a JB rom for it to work. You can't downgrade to an ICS rom because of S-On.
Flash any JB rom and it should work (don't forget to flash the boot.img that comes with it).
If you're not sure how to do that, you can also relock your bootloader and flash the appropriate JB RUU file. That will also fix it.
If you want you can flash a ics rom (at least the sense ones) on the higher hboots. But you can't downgrade to ics with ruu. But you can restore a ics nandroid backup so it seems you are on stock ics
If you get the cid from your phone you can look for a matching nandroid backup in the nandroid backup thread from matt95 in the general section. If you restore that completely and flash the stock recovery after that you will probably also get the JB update to update the phone to the proper JB stock rom
Hi
Having some issues with HOX
My mainver is: 3.78.61.6 HIGER THAN ANY EXISTING MAINVER POSSIBLE
I can ONLY install stock software via CustomRUU as i need to match mainver to = 3.78.61.6 WHICH IS HIGHER THAN JB!!!
ONCE INSTALLED I CAN NOT OTA UPGRADE because MainVer is HIGHER than JB update.
So it just crashes after installed (At Lock Ring). Because stock is installed i MUST do OTA update as phone insists i update.
JB RUU DOES NOT EXIST for my CID BUT OTA JB UPDATE DOES
Cid: TELNZ001
hboot 1.12.000 (BUT UPDATE IS INCLUDED IN OTA)
I have the ota zip file, which has FOLDERS not IMG so is not flashable.
HOWEVER DOES contain Firmware.zip with HBOOT 1.39 FOR TELNZ001 in it but is not flashable.
I have two questions:
Can anyone help me to downgrade / fool mainver, so i can revert back to stock and OTA to JB
OR
IS there a way to flash the hboot.img from OTA update.
I CANNOT flash firmware.zip from OTA as its CORRUPT and has been CORRUPT from every download site.
Thanks

Lol no matter what i post i get completly different answers than im actually looking for.
I know there is a way to charge mainver on some htc phones.
no one seems no one has a telnz001 JB backup.
and im having trouble flashing the hboot img
if i can flash the boot img i can run a jb rom...
What's the problem with flashing then ?
problem with flashing hboot?
There is NOTHING telling me how to flash the hboot.img file itself except for ruu / firmware.zip WHICH come back with errors, through fastboot i get error 99 unknown.
i cant flash it via the firmware.zip as mainver in the OTA JB ZIP is too low. either that or i need to find a way to sign the zip which is impossible.
and if i rebuild it ( make the mainver higher in the text file higher to match my mainver which is 2.76.xx.xx ) it refuses to flash.
the problem is .... i cant flash the hboot as it appears the only way is via ruu / ruu mode with firmware.zip
which is because my mainver is 3.76.xx.xx
next problem is even IF i could flash firmware.zip or ruu to an OLDER version is it updates the stock software to 2.17 but mainver still remains 3.76.xx.xx so its impossible to do the jb update which is 3.17.xx.xx
does a zip exist to make my mainver 1.00.00.00 as i would just be able to flash ruu and OTA and it will work
ive tried the mainver fixes and nothing has worked so far.
An older firmware.zip is never gonna work, you need S-OFF for that. The best is to get a nandroid backup ..... it doesn't matter if that is older or not. When you get hands on a nandroid you can restore it and update with official ota. Even if its an old one. The hboot will stay the same during updstes. The only thing that get updated is the software.
as far as I read about this, you can never downgrade with S-ON
if you want to keep using Sense , You need to look for a backup for your CID.
and I think you're probably figured that out by now
I think rephrasing the question might help you get someone to aid
and maybe you can upload the Firmware.zip for advanced developers to look at, you might get lucky and someone find an answer to you problem
anyway, you can read This , it's about Unlocking CID TELNZ001, might help?

I ony have one little problem with restoring from nandroid...
that is:
it does a couple of updates before the jb update is available
so it hits the 2.17 update maybe the update just after that and gets stuck on the lock screen and constantly reboots.
Very fustrating phone now in boot loop after OTA update.
does this EVERY time
relocked
stock boot and stock recovery.

Hi guys.
Finally today I receive the OTA upgrade to JB. First an smal upgrade was succesfully downloaded and installed, and then the firmware to upgrade the phone to JB (I had 4.03 custom rom).
After the phone install the JB upgrade the phone stuck on the HTC ONE white screen
I had a backup on the SD that let me recover the phone, I try to install the upgrade again, with the same luck. I read a post that said that erasing the SD will resolve the issue, and I have no better idea than do it!!! (yeah... really!!)
I read several post all day on XDA, I try to flash again the boot and ROM with the upgrade that I save on my PC, and with a Backup via
fastboot. But nothing work (I dont know if I did it right). I cant see the SD on fastboot, already try a factory reset, when I go to the recovery option on fastboot the phone just rebooted with no options.

Sorry, I mean I had the ORIGINAL ROM (4.03), the only change that I made was root the phone.
My CID is BSTAR301, I only have the backup files that I copy to my pc and the OTA upgrade that the phone download. I attach the images of the files that I have.
Could you please tell me how to restore it to complete stock with the commands? which files should I use?
Thanks for you help.

I assume that you first installed CWM or TWRP recovery to root your HOX, and if you make backup of your recovery this is CWM or TWRP recovery.img, not stock recovery.img that is came with phone because you reflashed original one with TWRP or CWM and official ROM need official recovery.img. I hope that you make nandroid backup before root with TWRP or CWM because is it "must to do" in every installation guide. If so, when you wanted to update via OTA for official JB you needed to:
1. reverse to stock software (for you, you needed only to unroot or use nandroid backup if you have yours, if not try to find one in xda one x forum matching your current CID and main-version)
2. reverse to stock recovery.img that is matching your CID (exact matching) (you need to find it on xda one x forum section) - i see that you have firmware folder but dont know is it from your backup or from OTA, if it is from OTA than you can use recovery.img from that folder to flash stock recovery.img via fastboot commands (only recovery.img)
3. then you can do official JB update via OTA
And then if you have need to custom ROM you need flash again CWM or TWRP recovery.img
Also you can get full stock with RUU but RUU must fully match your CID and main version, but RUU isn't available for every phone version, and after RUU you can do officall OTA JB update (for RUU you need to lock bootloader)
Information that can help us is yours phone current main version (fastboot getvar version-main)

Thank you!!!!
so i just recently switched to my nandroid backup of the stock sense 4.1.1 original
but the problem i got an software update notification but when i tried to install it
and when the phone restarted i was already in cwm recovery , i read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714
and the backup i had already is restored and the boot.img flashed so there is only one thing left is to lock the oem and then the updates will be installed am i right pls help cuz i want to stick to the stock rom and get updates now.
To be able to update official HTC updates you need
1. stock rom - you did that
2. flash boot.img - you did
3. flash stock recovery.img - you didnt do that, you still have CWM
You dont need to relock bootloader
Stock recovery.img you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376 in firmware, but be aware that you need matching CID
