Android update - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

I am rooted and have been since I got my GS3 in October. I tried a few roms before deciding on freegs3 v3.0.0 as my daily rom. It's very stable, fast and bug free for me. Just this morning I got a notification that there was an android update. This is the first one I've got since rooting this phone. I know not to accept it, I'm just wondering all of a sudden I'm getting this. What do I do too doable notifications of android update? I'm pretty sure I have Samsung push notifications turned off.
Thanks in advance guys.

Well actually it all depending on sprint. Not samsung, I would say march at latest since we just had jb update not to along ago. But hopefully we get soon, and its not like in the epic we just got left behind because of new phones.

I would think relatively the soon the leaks and update coming out for the epic touch are all 4.1.2 based. And I was running it for the last month made me contemplate upgrading to the s3

fastboot flash factory image, problem solved for me.
4.2.2 where are you!? Not going to flashboot, I'd rather wait for a decent update. Google destroyed the whole butter experience going from 4.1.2 to 4.2.0/1
I just unrooted last night and went back to 4.1.1, I forgot how smooth it was.

Jelly Bomb Domination question

This is the frist time iv ever rooted a phone and got Jelly Bomb Domination ver 14.0.0
I keep asking me to do a system update, do you do that with a rom?
I know im a total newbie to rooting
Depends. Is it a Samsung update? What are you prompted with? What exactly does it say?

Android system update
This software update includes new enhancements and improvements for your Galaxy S III.
Just dont want to mess up rom.
First off, this will get kicked to q&a, but that's no big thing.
Second, there is a way to disable the phone from knowing you have to update. It involves editing your build.prop file (really easy to do). CNexus put together a great tutorial on how to do this right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2209418

What's new!

I haven't been on XDA for months and my phone is severely deprived. I believe the last time I flashed a rom was back in October. Well since then, it has been very very slow. I've rejected countless updates that Sprint has tried pushing to me but it has been nagging me for too long and I finally have some time to get things caught up.
So...in short...what's new? What's the latest and greatest rom that you guys would recommend that I try? Anything else new that I have missed in the past few months as far as groundbreaking tweaks and all that? I'm constantly dropping calls lately for whatever reason...
Umm....yeah
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321867
Also, dropped calls very likely means that LTE is being expanded/upgraded in your area so be happy that they're dropping !
^ That looks like a great rom and it's a very cool port but I'm looking for something less hands-on that doesn't require me to stay up to date with constant flashing.
Just look around...?

New phone installing apps

Broke the screen on my Note 2 and just got the replacement from Asurion. The last time this happened to me I went through the stock setup process and all of my apps were downloaded automatically. This time no such luck. I tried resetting the phone again but that didn't work. It is really annoying to have to manually download all 200 apps. Any way to force the auto install process.?

Good question. Same happened to me. I only had trial version of helium at the time unfortunately so I couldn't just restore everything. Really glad I had my app data though... Good luck.

I haven't looked into it too closely, it seems random to me- sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't(I'm always happy when it does). I don't know if there is an apk or some functionality that some devs leave in and some take out of their roms.... or else if it is just kind of random. But I always do choose the backup and restore options when signing into the market.
