Hi all,
I have a question
Sometimes when making a call its sound really clear and crisp and full of detail in high and low end tones,
And sometimes it sounds rally like crap, like all flat tones i.e. when a equalizer turns all tones to low.
Is this fixable?
Setup

Awesome beats v5
Pimp my ROM "arm wideband" enabled
Pimp my ROM "bravia 2" enabled
Newest radio flashed
Full GSM signal strength
No provider issues

Amy advice is welcome

I just bought a GSM Galaxy Nexus. Have been using it for a week on T-Mobile now. I love the phone, except for the speaker volume. It is extremely low. I have searched and found that this is a known issue, especially stock JB ROM. Many people recommended Volume+ app, but that does not work on notifications or ringtones in JB. I have tried multiple apps, but none have worked.
Can anyone recommend anything? Are there any apps that would at least extend the vibration of the phone so that I may be able to hear it vibrate?
Thanks
That's something I would love to know my self

well GoSMS can extend the vibrations for texts!
Volume+ from the play store. Great app.

Great app. But it does not solve the low notification volume issue.

Does anyone use Voxer and notice that the mic quality on the Inspire/Desire sucks? So much background noise it picks up.

Yes i have ssame problem too , just installed on my Galaxy S3 and surprised about the poor audio quality
Heytell is much more crisp in the sound , but voxer offers the functions i need .. sending images text and voice :good:
My galaxy nexus came with a noisy vibrator and I can keep it from making noise by lowering the vibration strength. I've installed Air Kernel so I can change the vibration strength.
Now I can change it and it sort of works, but the little it does makes a difference it changes itself. After a each vibration it seems to gain strength back and I can't stop it. When I get a text the first vibrate sounds good but he next one is strong and makes the noise.
Does anyone have any idea to fix this?

Never mind. Found a kernel that actually fixes it

I can't be sure if it's me but sometimes I get really bad sound quality on phone calls after flashing any audio mod. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thanks.

There is only one audio mod which has no effect on phone calls for me, its "Awesome Beats".
All the others I tried or those which are built into custom roms with the except of Beats distorts
the phone call incoming voice unless I turn the audio way down making it way too quiet.
None of the audio mods have any effect on the out-going voice.
It's actually 2 for me. Whether it's been merged into the ROM or installed as a 3rd party app, Awesome Beats and Noozxoide has had no affect on call quality. That just goes to show how different each device really is lol

Strange, I thought I tested em all, but I have never heard of Noozxoide until I read your post.
I will have to give it a try, our devices are really not that different...
It's just that I never heard of Noozxoide til now.
It's pretty good, not the BEST but it definitely makes a difference.
Every device, even the same model, can very well handle ROMs, kernels, mods, scripts, binaries, etc.. differently and that's what I was referring to.
You know this though.

Please and thanks

Maybe the only way to fix it is take it apart?

You need some sort of sound mod that supports mono. The old Voodoo sound app is an example of a sound mod that had an option for Mono output. I don't recall seeing a mono option in any sound mod that was not a root needed app since they typically need to be supported by the kernel.
If you are on 4.3 you could check if viper4android has a mono option for speakers. I think I vaguely remember saying they added it. And I don't know the status of viper4android on 4.4 except i didn't see it in the most current 'new features'.
