(Help) Setting vibration - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

My galaxy nexus came with a noisy vibrator and I can keep it from making noise by lowering the vibration strength. I've installed Air Kernel so I can change the vibration strength.
Now I can change it and it sort of works, but the little it does makes a difference it changes itself. After a each vibration it seems to gain strength back and I can't stop it. When I get a text the first vibrate sounds good but he next one is strong and makes the noise.
Does anyone have any idea to fix this?

Never mind. Found a kernel that actually fixes it

Music Issue

i dont know if anyone is having this problem.. but when im listening to music and i get an email or im... the music starts to have static or something? is that normal?
What is your notifications ring tone set to? Might be the ringtone that actually sounds like static/interference.

Only when the screen is off?

I have the same issue (4.0.3, matri1x 1.5), but only affects sound when the screen is off. Pulling out and then reinserting headphone jack works for me, but would like a permanent fix.

In call volume too LOUD

Talking on the phone practically makes my ears bleed it is so LOUD. Does anyone know of an app that allows you to lower the volume beyond what the normal settings allow for? Is there any other way to accomplish this task? Voodoo sound doesnt seem to make any difference on call volume, even when I am using headphones on the call. Thanks!

I think that controls the mic gain, not the earpiece.

I have always been able to adjust the call volume via the side volume controls, when in a call
Ie: when on a call, turn the volume down the same way you would the ringer using the side buttons, and instead of seeing the media volume change, you should see incall volume adjusted

Yeah I do that but even at the lowest setting it is obnoxiously loud.

maybe your ears are just overly sensitive or something is messed up on your phone, rom, kernel, something... wipe and fresh flash see if your problem persists. I can turn the volume down below my level of hearing, but I also have slightly damaged ears from too much gun-play without hearing protection.
I would love to know why its loud.....cause i want to make mine louder....i think im going deaf

Switching to CM7 seems to have fixed the issue somewhat though the volume controls in call are a bit eratic now. I am pretty sure it was rom related as it happened to me on 2 of marcusant's roms. Maybe he likes loud calls lol.

Try the volume+ app in the market. He has free and paid versions but you can get the paid verszion for free on his website.

I believe the fix that worked for me was to disable hifi record in the voodoo control settings. Hope this helps!
Record settings in voodoo seem only to control mic gain (or mic loss, when I enable them no one can hear me! ). My earpiece is also obnoxiously loud in calls- on every GB rom I have tried. I would definitely like a fix for this.
No amount of wiping and flashing between multiple GB roms has ever fixed this.

disabling the Voodoo hi-fi play and record settings definitely fixed the loud call audio problem for me in gingerbread on the epic, sorry it's not working for you.

What should I look for ?

I'm buying a galaxy nexus gsm version off of somebody on craigslist, and I wanted to ask is there anything in specific I should be looking for? I will be checking both speakers, back speaker and earpiece, gps lock on, and overall hardware condition. Now I've read about the screen issues with the galaxy nexus but I just wanted some insight on how I can spot them, for example where do I have to look at and at what brightness level, in certain types, responsiveness, graininess, etc
Thank you very much guys, all advice and suggestions are appreciated

Just make sure everything (hardware wise) seems to be working. Assuming the owner did some modding, majority of the things you listed could also be software related.
Yes, this includes the screen, speaker volume, GPS lock, etc.

Ok cool, how do I look for purple tint & blotches? Is it noticeable only in certain apps or how can I detect.them?

Look at the settings menus with the lowest brightness level, you will notice any banding, blotches.

Also reboot into recovery. Just in case he did some modding. If you want it stock that is...

Do elaborate. What's odd? What's the source of the sound? Speaker? Or simply the vibration unit?
A buzzing sound. Coming from the vibrating unit itself.

I find the vibration unit of my gnex rather strong. I use a custom kernel that allows one to turn it down a notch. Could help with your buzzing sound perhaps.
Its quite annoying as I got caught in class with my phone because of it lol first day of senior year too xDxD

You have to get a custom kernel and turn the strength down. I use fancy kernel and trickster mod app

Call quality

Hi all,
I have a question
Sometimes when making a call its sound really clear and crisp and full of detail in high and low end tones,
And sometimes it sounds rally like crap, like all flat tones i.e. when a equalizer turns all tones to low.
Is this fixable?
