So im having problems receiving calls from other sprint customers. The phone is currently running cyanoged mod 7.0.2.1. Is it because of the network or because perhaps I'm not update to date on the current radios. Please help.

Hard to say.
Is it a new issue?
Does anyone you know (with Sprint) have this issue right now?
A newer radio version isn't necessarily going to cause you problems, no.
It's most of my incoming calls. It's been like this for a month now. And no other sprint customers in my family are not having problems from what I know.

I'm on T-Mobile USA and I'm not receiving many MMS messages. The ones that I do receive are blurred very bad. Anyone else having this problem? If so, do you have a fix?

go into your tmobile online account and select galaxy sII as your phone.
should fix it.
some people report immediate fix some say takes 24-48 hours for tmobile to update.

Lol, well the problem is that my other phone is a T-Mobile Galaxy S2. I have no problems until I switch phones unless it changes to something else when I do the swap?
Edit: Still says my phone is the GS2.

if your rooted, you can replace your MMS app with the one on this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1376481&page=4
it will fix all of your MMS issues. i know i've done it.

I haven't taken the root plunge yet but it might be something that i look into today. For the moment, are there any non-root alternatives?

you can also try setting your phone to Amaze 4G in your t-mobile account profile, that's what I did and it works

Hello,
I was wondering if there is any Jelly Bean roms that support Wifi calling. I need Wifi calling where I work because I get no reception in my office.
Or is there any other roms that is recommended that has Wfi calling?
Thanks for any help.
Why not use Viber? It uses your mobile number as the ID and anyone else using Viber can make a free VOIP call to you.

Aosp ROMs (cm, aokp) currently don't have actual WiFi calling as its something that runs deeper in tw ROMs other than an apk

And therefore is completely different than WiFi calling.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Wi-Fi calling is a TMobile creation thus must be cooked into the rom base by TMobile. Since we dont have a TMobile release for JB for the T989 the answer would be no.
And to reiterate what the poster above me said, wifi calling is more than VOIP.
WiFi Calling / Using WiFi to Surf?
I have no doubt this may be a stupid question, but if I was to use one of the Jelly Bean ROMS and lose wifi calling, does that also mean that I could not connect to the web via wifi?
Thank you in advance for any help. This is a deciding factor for me.
I am using the Galaxy S2 t989 Hercules.
No JB has WiFi fixes just make sure you read before you flash but most of them all have WiFi  good luck

Are you saying there is/are jb rom(s) without working wifi?? I'm just asking cause who on earth would flash such a thing....or even release a rom for jb with no wifi considering all the awesome roms we have with wifi working perfectly fine.
Just curious....really! Not trying to crack wise with you! Lol

OK then, since WiFi calling seems to be in the DNA of the T-Mobile ROM what app is best for users whom do not have the same service? Doesn't telus have WiFi and didn't they get jellybean awhile ago? Please correct me if I am mistaken........

Well, the discussion about Google voice would be a whole new issue. The bottom line is, its different than TMo wifi calling.
As far as Bell getting an update...might want to browse the official jelly-bean sticky for that info.
I am in the same situation, and use wifi calling at home. The problem with GV and other services like that, is that you won't receive calls to your Tmobile number when you don't have signal. You can only call out on the phone, which will use your GV number when you do. Unless you give everyone your GV number, but for me that wasn't very practical, since I've had my T-mo number for over 10 years (ported from my old home phone #).
So, if you have no signal and want to use wifi, people wanting to get a hold of you will have to call your GV number instead of your Tmobile number. As far as taking over your phone, GV has an option to use the GV number for every call, so it sorta does take over. But if you click no, you can manually enable/disable GV when you use it. I think it asks you every time you make a call, which was kinda annoying, as was enabling/disabling GV every time I was connected to wifi.
On top of that, just about every one of those apps I tried other than GV, had poor quality and/or call echo issues. Even the ones with echo cancellation didn't work well in my experience.
So I just went back to t-mo based ROMs that had wifi calling built in, and it's much easier for me.
I'm basically in the same boat. Both of my houses have complete dead spots and very little to 1 bar of reception if ever. I heavily rely on wifi-calling.
So has any JB 4.2/4.3 ROMs popped up yet with Wifi-Calling? Does anyone know of any sort of gains in figuring it out?
Nope....only touchwiz roms.

I would love to do it if someone could point me in the right direction compare the ICS tmobile version with a standard touchwiz ICS code and find the difference. Once the difference has been found inject that into the jellybean. In theory that should work

If it was doable, it would have been done by now. Don't ya think?

I am inclined to agree but to a point. In the end it's still code, someone had to create it and inject it into the official tmobile ROMS there for it can be reverse engineered. I would suspect that it's such a tedious task that it hasn't been done. To find the several lines of code the amount of effort wasn't worth the time to invest especially since you could copy and past

Sounds like it could be network vision. I'm a tech for sprint and there have been lots of customers in my area that can't receive phone calls. Flash the return to stock Rom and if it is still doing it then take it to a service center. If they determine it's a network issue then you're SOL.

I really think it is a network issue...to many people from different parts of the country are complaining about the same issues..
I started resending out 55015 PRL to people I end up taking escalations from because there phones used to work and then they stopped and 90% of the time its because of a SMR change on there local towers voice/1x service. That 800 is nice when your able yo properly connect.

Yes I work for sprint. And the bad thing is. I can update anyone's PRL but it will change back on the next scheduled network sync. So I have a list of PTNs I have to check weekly to verify if they rolled back to 20000 or 20001.

So what would you recommend as the best course of action? Staying on 55015 unless you notice you aren't receiving calls sometimes? Come to think of it I think I did get a voicemail once without the phone ringing... but other than that once, it seems like 55015 has been better than 2000, at least in terms of holding a data signal.
Depends on your area and your service. If 20000 doesn't work and 55015 does, then stick with it. As for calls rolling directly to VM and your phone isn't broke lol, it more then likely is a hickup in the network. You should see some of the network Trams I see on my end.

So I noticed you work for Sprint. I'm running a custom prl on my note 2 that prioritizes 800 smr. Most of the time I fail to connect, but not always. I am an active member at s4gru.com, a Sprint forum, and many people with note 2's are experiencing the same connection problems with smr. My wisdom for you is if Sprint, internally, has diagnosed the problem with the note 2's and 800 smr. Obviously Sprint knows something is up or they wouldn't have pushed the 2000 prl.

The reason I push out non standard PRLs are for instances were I have a customer who is not getting service at all or is getting extremely poor voice service. As for s4gru.com, that is not a sprint affiliated web site. It is a community blog that is not moderated nor updated by sprint. It is true that some N2 users in specific markets experience issues with 800 SMR bands enabled but I personally have not had an issue with it.

What Rom and radio are you running if you don't mind me asking?
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk
L900VPAMC2 Stock Rooted with a DPI change. But I have been running 55015 the entire time even before I rooted. Erickson has been working on the issue for some time but driver updates for the Note 2 are needed for the patch to work and as far as I can tell Sammy hasn't done that yet.
But for most people I deal with, having to power cycle your phone occasionally is a hell of a lot better then no service at all.
