There is something in a hidden menu I believe. Read the thread and search it for more info, you're not alone in the issue, been discussed many times.

if you have fixed the issue please share..also how do i check to see if the imei is broken
Look in Settings, About Device, Status.
Under IMEI it should show a string of numbers. If not, its gone.

well **** me running. i flashed the new stock LJC odex rom and now my phone will not connect to the cell network. just sits at preparing services. like it doesnt recognize the radio or something. restored my backup and it still does it. ill be restoring to stock through ODIN in a few. anyone have any ideas wtf happened?
ohh and once it goes to sleep. it no longer wakes up
restoring to stock in ODIN didnt work either. it simply will not initialize the radio.
Did you try downloading the LJC odex Rom again? Maybe you had a bad download.

you may need to reactivate you phone. flash stock and give them a call.

yes, mine screens look the same as well. what was it that you flashed before this happened? i had sprint go ahead and ship me a new one for free since i;ve had it less than 2 weeks. so i am experimenting on mine at the moment.
hell, i cant even use adb because it doesnt recognize the phone or mount the internal or external sdcards. the only thing i can do is flash tar files in odin to the phone but the system still reads as "custom." going to try a few more things to see what's what.
Flashed to aljc then restored a nandroid and then it happened.

This is why u dont restore data from previous builds and roms. Its one of the easiest ways to f stuff up. Much better to just keep current backups of apps and data in the system not in nandroids. Its more pain in the ass but saves u crap like this. System data on nandroids isnt always compatible with newer builds. Plus its better to always start fresh anyway

what? you must be confused. i did not restore system and/or data app from the previous build into a new one. not even close. you must excuse my lack of super specific details in the above posts. the person i was talking to knew what i was doing.
so now that we have official Google wallet I tried setting it up and it says that it failed. it asks to reset the phone and try again or be on a reliable internet connection.
I've tried it several times, power cycled multiple times and I've tried it on 3g, my home Wi-Fi (16Mbps) and my work internet (50Mbps) to no avail. some help please!
I'm rooted mc2 running synergy ROM but I've also tried it in stock odexed

A lot of people including myself have exactly the same problem. And I already had a working wallet before trying to update. And restoring the exact same older wallet that worked the very day before, now fails at exactly the same spot. Suggesting the problem is on the server side not on our phones.
Google wallet support has told multiple people, including me, that it's a known problem and they're working on it and there is no estimated time frame for a fix.
But please do call the support number found in the menu in Wallet if only to add to the number of calls so they take it seriously.

Go to wallet.google.com and perform a verify. Wallet will reset and finally complete the last step in setup

I was having the same issue. I installed the perseus kernel the other day to try it out and decided to try wallet again for s and g's and wallet worked. Not sure what that would have to do with it. . . My phone never had any issues with ziggy's kernel.

Well, I guess that shoots a hole in the hypothesis you need a stock kernel to install. I guess it's back to thinking about it some more.
At this point there are so many things that can mess with a wallet installation. Best bet is to go to stock rom and stock recovery and go from there, otherwise there are so many different variations of roms and kernels that everyone has a different story and they will all work differently.

Title says it all. Imei is unknown in settings, and when I type in the dialer code I get --/05 (-- meaning blank). All phone functions work fine though which is weird. I know now because I tried to get a replacement through T-Mobile and they said the imei had no recent activity on the account. Any ideas on how to get it back?

Hi, I'm new here and a novice flasher. I recently flashed HellKat 4.4.2 rom on my SGH-T989. Everything runs OK except for a few bugs.
I just noticed that whenever I tap "about phone" in system settings, there is no IMEI number. Gone. Does anyone know why? Is there a way that I can recover my IMEI number?
Thanks XDA
I don't have one either. Mine is a T Mobile and it doesn't seem to bother Telus. I had Hellybean when I noticed and flashed the stock ROM/radio but it never came back.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Probably just not reading it. Try typing *#06# in dialer - see if it shows
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
OK. It does show up on the dialer. So I guess it's not completely "gone", just doesn't appear on the "about" section. (I also flashed a jellybean radio before flashing rom. Don't know if that has anything to do with it)

Please I also have similar problem with my phone. When I dial *#06# it shows "null/null". As a result, I am unable to get mobile network.

If restoring stock doesn't fix it... And you didn't back up the EFS partition, there's nothing you can do.
A service place can maybe restore it.
I'm running Beanstalk ROM, latest build, I believe it's 4.4.4.050 with BMS kernel, and lost data connection after clean install of this Rom on T-Mobile SG3 (dtle). I've searched and performed everything I could find concerning restoring data connection, but none of them seems to work. Anyone else having this particular issue?

Try replacing your apns-conf.xml with this one. Don't know if it'll work on that rom, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Rename old one in case you need to revert.

Pretty sure I saw someone else with the same issue on the same rom. Can't remember if it was in tmobiles or att forums though. But it may be a rom issue so I'd watch the thread and maybe someone will find a solution.

I believe Beanstalk uses Cyanogenmod code, and their latest build had a broken radio.. No data, no phone signal..
I am using Carbon at the moment at their 9-07 build had a broken radio, no data no phone..
Try reverting to an older version, that should clear your problem
Yeah I reverted to an older version and got data connection back... Thanks... It was boggling the heck out of me... Lol
