Apn fix... - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I'm running Beanstalk ROM, latest build, I believe it's 4.4.4.050 with BMS kernel, and lost data connection after clean install of this Rom on T-Mobile SG3 (dtle). I've searched and performed everything I could find concerning restoring data connection, but none of them seems to work. Anyone else having this particular issue?

Try replacing your apns-conf.xml with this one. Don't know if it'll work on that rom, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Rename old one in case you need to revert.

Pretty sure I saw someone else with the same issue on the same rom. Can't remember if it was in tmobiles or att forums though. But it may be a rom issue so I'd watch the thread and maybe someone will find a solution.

I believe Beanstalk uses Cyanogenmod code, and their latest build had a broken radio.. No data, no phone signal..
I am using Carbon at the moment at their 9-07 build had a broken radio, no data no phone..
Try reverting to an older version, that should clear your problem

Yeah I reverted to an older version and got data connection back... Thanks... It was boggling the heck out of me... Lol

MMS Fix for Boost & Virgin Mobile on CM9 and AOKP

Attached to the bottom of this page is an CWM updater.zip for CM9 and AOKP, flash this after every CM9 update you install. If you do a wipe and restore your data flash this fix AFTER you restore your data as the fix deletes the telephony.db file from the data partition, which stores the APN values. This causes your phone to read the apns-conf.xml and write the correct Virgin Mobile values to the telephony.db on the next boot up.

Yes you could say that except I have been making mms fixes for virgin mobile for much longer than that. I was the one who figured out how to get mms working on cm7/cm9 phones flashed to virgin mobile. The boost script is much more simple, it just gives you the correct apn settings.

Oh most certainly, I just meant if I want to get Virgin Mobile MMS working on a different rom like [Re-Calked ICS] then it would just take following the DYI guide, or is it very complicated to modify the script to work?

MMS on Flashed Dinc has stopped working after installing ROM

Basically I've rooted my Inc and have installed some ROMs. However, my MMS doesn't work anymore :\
I have my Droid Incredible flashed onto MetroPCS btw. Any suggestions?
My current ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1253492
I'm new to ROMing so I'm not sure if that's like the newer thing, (which I've been told that it's not). So if you could link me to a ROM with working 720p Video Capture, that'd be lovely.
Thanks guys.

Restoring a bad default still leaves you with a bad default.
See the below link on how to fix it. Use MNC of 012 instead of what the guide says.

As I said, restoring a bad default is still bad. I missed that MetroPCS was a carrier, the verizon APN will not work for that and you'll have to find their APN.
So even know the old xml file use to work It's a bad default now? By the way, I've googled and have downloaded apns from places but mms still will not work.

If it used to work then something broke it, which could be a handful of things, from a rom update to something else. The easiest way is to still make sure your APNs are correct. If you think it's the stock messaging app, try a 3rd party.

I reverted to stock after trying a few versions of CM9 and never being able to get MMS to work. Was leery of trying any add'l ROMs 'cause I didn't want to lose MMS (or other core functionality). After the glowing reviews for Albinoman's JB ROM, I took the plunge and have been very happy. MMS are no problem. (There are a couple of other things not working, but generally 3rd party apps will work around those issues. Only prob I haven't seen a solution for is Netflix doesn't work...but I don't think there's any JB ROM for the Inc that has Netflix working.)

wtf? ideas?

well **** me running. i flashed the new stock LJC odex rom and now my phone will not connect to the cell network. just sits at preparing services. like it doesnt recognize the radio or something. restored my backup and it still does it. ill be restoring to stock through ODIN in a few. anyone have any ideas wtf happened?

restoring to stock in ODIN didnt work either. it simply will not initialize the radio.

This is why u dont restore data from previous builds and roms. Its one of the easiest ways to f stuff up. Much better to just keep current backups of apps and data in the system not in nandroids. Its more pain in the ass but saves u crap like this. System data on nandroids isnt always compatible with newer builds. Plus its better to always start fresh anyway

LTE fix on d2LTE Roms

This is my first tutorial that worked for me. Majority of us all have been having LTE issues with these d2LTE Roms and this fix has worked for me been over a week strong now.
Install or revert back to a Touchwiz or any ROM that you had LTE working on.
Download 'APNs Backup' sorry I didn't post a link. You may have to install busybox, I had to for it to work. If you have to then make sure you reboot.
Allow SU permissing ,then choose where you want to save Internal or External. Then reboot to recovery and restore the ROM having LTE issues.
Reinstall 'APNs Backup', give SU permission and choose the location you backed up your APN as stated above and click restore.
After your restore reboot your phone, if LTE is not working make sure in your mobile settings that CDMA+LTE is chosen then reboot.
By now your LTE should be working. Those are the steps I took and my LTE has been strong since, working so far for over a week, and this is working on 4.4.2 Roms.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope this has worked for you as it has me, once I get computer access I'll post the link to the app for quicker access.

I read the APN Backup & Restore description and it says the app must be converted to a system app before it works.
Did you have to do this?

No, I had trouble with 'APN Backup & Restore, there is a app called 'APNs Backup' just search what I have in the quotes, The 'APN Backup & Restore' app doesn't work at least for me, I've tried converting to system app in every way possible, and I get a error while trying to back it up. Let me get a link for 'APNs Backup' then all you have to do is follow my tutorial, you don't have to convert anything with mine steps

On KitKat you have to move the app to /system/priv-app, not /system/app for it to work properly. Straight from the description on Play Store.
Oh okay. I found "APNsBU" when searching in quotes. I don't see any special requirements there, besides BusyBox.
I saw the info about 4.4 but was asking about the NOTE below that in the description.
I will give one or both of these a try and report back what I discover.

Any clue how long it will be? Most of us have had this issue for a few weeks now and this back up APN app hasn't quite panned out for me. I'd rather just rely on a reliable fix from the dev.
Was it just recently announced with no ETA or is it something that was announced some time ago and we are getting closer to a release?

The past few days put me in a dark place. I decided that I had had enough of nightlies and debated going back to a the stock 4.3 ROM with root. I was ready for Touchwiz but also a better camera (I've heard CM will never have the same quality because of proprietary drivers) and finally LTE.
No LTE does that you....:silly:
Just did this fix and now I get "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" every 2 seconds..=/
Make sure if you are installing the new cm11 nightly with the merged fix you do a clean install otherwise it may not work.

I'm still having this issue, even after a clean install of the 04/28 nightly. I am on Ting. Would this affect anything? When I switch to LTE mode in mobile networks, LTE flashes to the left of the signal for a split second then disappears. Anyone?

Are we good to update yet?

Could you let me know if the fix has been merged yet for Verizon phones? I'm excited to try 4.4.3 and the new theme chooser, but use my phone for work, and wouldn't want to break it at any cost.
Thank you!
i have a question, i cant edit the apn settings, i have tried the apn backup, made it a system app, move it to system/priv-app and it can backup and restore apn even on 4.4.2 firmware, the point is, whenever i edit the xml file with my carrier parameters and restore the apn the list of apn just deletes, theres nothing there, but if i restore the original xml file (sprint apn) the lista of apn appears, i have tried other workaround, i have installed the shortcut maker, made the apn shortcut and it will let me see the apn list, but it doesnt let me edit or add a new apn. please help...
