Sprint G Nexus MMS? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I been trying to figure this out for ever to no avail. Why when on stock 4.2.1 I can send and receive mms just fine using lte/cdma network with the stock messaging app but not on any of the custom roms? It works just fine with 3rd party apps though. I would really appreciate if someone could help me get this sorted so I can once again enjoy custom roms. Thanks

I used to have the same issue but with some of the new 4.2.2 and even 4.2.1 based roms it works. I have been using sourcery for quite a while now and haven't had any mms issues over the last couple of builds. Definitely worth checking out and you rarely see anybody with mms issues in the thread.

when you flash it be sure you wipe dalvik, cache, factory reset, system, then delete android folder before flashing so you have a completely clean install. let market restore then reboot and then try your mms.

I can delete android folder from recovery? Also I always wipe dalvik, cache and factory reset but never system. Won't I lose all my backups and stuff if I do system?

if you are using twrp you can delete it via the file explorere. system just wipes the os not storage. whatever you do dont delete storage/sd then you will not be able to do anything.
i use twrp, i am not sure about cwm but i'd recommend twrp over cwm bc it is easier.

Yes I use twrp. Thanks

I'm having texting issues on sprint also if I send a text over one text long it won't send it just fails I flashed the new radio ga02 it worked for one text and then back to the same damn issue any ideas??

Well I just got sourcery 5.1 up and running and it was a no go on lte/CDMA.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

hmmmm....turn network to cdma only update prl and profile reboot then change back to cdma/lte

Finally got it to work. Installed the newest slimbean and it still didn't work so I flashed sprint diagnostic and did a phone provision and bam worked like a champ.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app

For those having issues, have you guys fully ported your Sprint number to Google Voice? Thinking this may be causing the problem. I managed to get MMS received by unchecking the "auto receive" option. Still can't send though. This is frustrating.

Camera Fails to Load?

Hey I just bought a T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 and the camera Fails to Load. Any input on this?

You could wipe data cache factory or Default camera options.
I tried wiping the app data. Let me try a factory reset. If that doesn't work then what?

Change of Rom.
So root it, install cwm, make a nandroid backup, and flash a new rom? Where's a good guide on how to root the ics updated s2?

From the way you worded this I'm assuming you didnt put any custom roms but just got the phone and set it up. Try doing a factory reset and/or if it doesnt work, would you be willing to try a custom rom and see if the camera works on it? If it doesnt work on a rom either then somethings wrong with the phone and I would suggest getting a replacement.
NOTE: Wait for a few other replies because someone else may have had a similiar problem and this is just a extreme.
Btw, make sure you keep track of your 20 day warranty for a full new replacement.
Also considering there is something Bad with the software try flashing any other rom i recommend you a soft one.
Talked to Samsung Support and they are going to replace it for free. Also offered to pay the shipping both ways! Thanks guys.
Happened to me all I did to fix it was a simple restart lol seriously

Try choosing the option to install Samsung binaries. That's what I did and works fine on stock rooted LJ7.

If I'm not mistaken most custom roms have the binaries installed for this to work so the stock LJ7 might not. Install them like he said in the post above and it should work.

Don't change ANYTHING after you install the apk, just install samsung binaries if need be, it is confirmed to work that way. Maybe you tried to put the password on for a secure network? At the moment it doesn't look like it has worked as encrypted for anyone yet.

Google wallet not able to finish setup

so now that we have official Google wallet I tried setting it up and it says that it failed. it asks to reset the phone and try again or be on a reliable internet connection.
I've tried it several times, power cycled multiple times and I've tried it on 3g, my home Wi-Fi (16Mbps) and my work internet (50Mbps) to no avail. some help please!
I'm rooted mc2 running synergy ROM but I've also tried it in stock odexed

A lot of people including myself have exactly the same problem. And I already had a working wallet before trying to update. And restoring the exact same older wallet that worked the very day before, now fails at exactly the same spot. Suggesting the problem is on the server side not on our phones.
Google wallet support has told multiple people, including me, that it's a known problem and they're working on it and there is no estimated time frame for a fix.
But please do call the support number found in the menu in Wallet if only to add to the number of calls so they take it seriously.

Well, I guess that shoots a hole in the hypothesis you need a stock kernel to install. I guess it's back to thinking about it some more.
At this point there are so many things that can mess with a wallet installation. Best bet is to go to stock rom and stock recovery and go from there, otherwise there are so many different variations of roms and kernels that everyone has a different story and they will all work differently.

ParanoidAndroid 4.3 Questions

I'm posting this here because the PA4.3 thread has been closed and I don't want to clutter the 4.4 thread asking about an old rom.
I've been lurking for awhile. I have experience with rooting/flashing plenty on the Evo4g (including some AOSP). On my Note 2, I've stuck to TW roms on my Note 2. Im looking to hop into the AOSP world and I think this is the ROM I want to try (the kitkat version doesn't have features/stability from what I've read). However, I have a couple questions.
1) Of course I will nandroid my TW rom. If I decide I want to go back, is it as simple as restoring my backup? Or are there additional steps going from AOSP back to TW nandroid?
2) I see various versions/builds & kernels listed in this thread? Can someone please suggest a reliably stable build/kernel for me to start out with that has everything working?

Hey, I've been running paranoid 3.99 for a while and it has great battery life, even on stock rom, you can use plasma kernel with it or Devil kernel, your choice, flash the latest stable and you should be fine, also look for the SD card restore zip if you ever go back to TW you are going to need it, its buried in to the cm 10 thread just look for it, also make sure you get stweaks from play store and if you have issues send me a pm and I will be glad to help you, good luck!

Let me know what file you need and I'll upload it to my dropbox, you don't need a SD card, just get the room zip in the root of your internal SD, wipe or do a factory reset in twrp/cwm flash the zip and gapps... Reboot... Do the initial setup and restore your apps or start from scratch if you prefer... Good luck!

1. Make a backup of your current setup in twrp
2. WIPE data, system, cache and dalvik (factory reset)
3. Flash aosp rom and gapps package
4. SET IT UP...
TO RESTORE:
1. Backup your aosp setup...
2. Do the recommended wipes
3. restore your nandroid TW backup...
4. Flash this zip: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9ee1s03ev246rpx/restore-sdcard-after-downgrade.zip
5. FIX PERMISSIONS
6. Reboot and enjoy...
To restore back to aosp do the recommended wipes and fix permissions once the restore is done... Good luck!

Disregard. Appears to be working now.

2 more questions though -

Can the pie menu be edited? I used it on two as a quick launch for frequent apps.

Apn fix...

I'm running Beanstalk ROM, latest build, I believe it's 4.4.4.050 with BMS kernel, and lost data connection after clean install of this Rom on T-Mobile SG3 (dtle). I've searched and performed everything I could find concerning restoring data connection, but none of them seems to work. Anyone else having this particular issue?

Try replacing your apns-conf.xml with this one. Don't know if it'll work on that rom, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Rename old one in case you need to revert.

I believe Beanstalk uses Cyanogenmod code, and their latest build had a broken radio.. No data, no phone signal..
I am using Carbon at the moment at their 9-07 build had a broken radio, no data no phone..
Try reverting to an older version, that should clear your problem
