[Q] Lifeless Jellybeanv12 problem - Sprint LG Optimus G

Hey I was wondering if anybody else is getting a bad download for the LifelessJellybeanv12 zip? I've downloaded it 3 times once on my phone and twice on my desktop each time the zip file was empty. I attached a picture of the message that I'm getting on my desktop, and I'm basically getting this same message when I download from my phone. Just wanted to know if this is happening to anyone else who could possible offer some help.

have you checked that the file size is the same? It should be 919.51 MB
Maybe the download is corrupted?

Something is wrong with the download. A couple other guys, myself included, are having the same issue.

Yes I checked the file size on my phone it shows up as .90GB which I know is wrong, and on the desktop it shows up as 919MB but I still get the same message that I posted in the picture. I think it's a bad download maybe, hopefully he fixes it.

By the time I had a chance to try lifeless the file was unavailable. I did get the stock zvb and flashed that. Froze bloat with Titanium Backup.

New working Lifeless zip is up. Not sure if you all have noticed, but wanted to point out the fact just in case. It is working, and I can verify, as I've been running it all day with no issue.

If the devs post the hash checksums you should verify the hash of the file you've downloaded. It's easy. You can move it to your phone, launch terminal, and run "md5sum filename.zip". Make sure the hashes are the same. That way if it's not the same, you'll know you have a bad download.

[Q] Revolution HD 5.1.1 ROM Download Issues

Hey,
I would have posted this in the thread however I have less than 10 posts (as you can probably see).
Anyways, I have been trying to download the Latest Revolution HD Rom however everytime I do, I get a different MD5 Checksum than the one in the thread. I saw in there that he has been having troubles with the server, could this be the problem? I have tried downloading 3 or 4 times now at uni and at home so I don't think the problem is on my end, well at least I hope not
I downloaded it last night and it installed no problem. Do you want me to email this file to you?
Yeah thanks, ill PM you
on its way now
Apologies, my mail server just sent it back saying its exceeded maximum size

No one has any ideas?
Should I just flash the erroneous one?
resolved please close

Captivate Glide Recording Failed on Camera

I have looked everywhere before this post so my apologies if this is an incorrect posting, my ATT captivate glide camera says RECORDING FAILED nearly every time i open the camera app, i have tried clearing cache through multiple apps and through the recovery boot, and multiple camera apps like pudding camera, i've uninstalled every app i can think of that may interfere with the camera as well, i have also rooted my device hoping this would help, a reset will not help, a reflash of the rooted rom will not help either, i am open to try anything suggested as i trust the developers in this forum, i posted this as a new thread to see if anyone else has the same problem, thank you for your time and effort, it means a lot to us that are learning
Never seen that and I use the camera pretty regularly. Bum device maybe?
Never had this problem as well, I think you might have got a defective unit.
if you use your external SD card as storage, better check that one. If you use internal SD, you can check if you have a DCIM folder in it, try creating it manually if you do not see any.
i tried the dcim folder idea, now have a folder in usb storage, sd, and external sd, no luck but thank you
I found a thread with a promising solution, i deleted my camera.apk with titanium backup and got a camera mod here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1104051 , it's working now, i hope it continues to, i will post an update later if anyone else is having this problem, thanks to all involved
Still not resolved

I never had an issue with mine as well I would take it back to where you got it and let them see the issues perhaps they can swap it with another for you.
Can someone upload the original camera.apk and camera.odex from their device please
I can't warranty... rooted...

Can't you just put back the original rom.back to stock then warranty. Can't help you with the apk as I am not rooted sorry.

i'm waiting on a usb jig to get here to reset my binary download counter... after that i can warranty but until then i would like to solve the problem if i can, i think an app is running commands that are conflicted with the cam... i'm methodically uninstalling apps and clearing cache partition.... it seems to get cam working for a few hours... sometimes

Where did you buy the jig from? Do you know if it is compatible with the Glide? Let us know how it goes.

Need firmware
i checked my firmware using *#34971539# and it displayed null.... i need someone to upload the actual firmware please, or at least tell me what version they have.... thanks
Firmware
OK, here's where I'm at now... someone was kind enough to upload me the firmware, i install it and reboot my device and it works for about 5 minutes then fails again, i honestly think something is running in my device that is interfering with the camera.... if anyone has any ideas they would be appreciated...
I'm gonna try this again, camera still only working intermittently (about 10%).... in the service menu my cam firmware is null, a phone to cam fw write just reboots my device, i put the rs_m5ls.bin in the root of my SD card before write, not sure if i am doing this correctly, if i do a cam to phone fw dump i get a m5mo_dump.bin in the root of my SD card as well, I've formatted cache, data, system and reinstalled ICS ROM by jayjayjoker, I've flashed the stock GB firmware from samfirmware via Odin, and tried the firmware write every way i could think of each time... can anyone please explain how the firmware works with the ROM and driver, maybe i will understand it better or even detailed steps on the correct installation of firmware, I'm sure I'm missing something and the only info i can find is all spread out and not necessarily clear when i do find it, if any of you devs have any ideas please help.... thanks for your time, this is very frustrating
Hi can anybody assist me please I am trying to install the new camera all onto my Samsung glide, I have read that I use Root Explorer go to system/app and rename camera.apk and install the new file in its place.
But my problem is root explorer says that the system file is read only and cannot be renamed how do I get round this rather than using the Odin for my computer.
My issue with the camera is when in landscape it works perfect but when I switched to portraits the screen goes blank.
Many thanks.

[Q] Why won't the .7z extract for a root image?

So i'm on this thread here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
And i'm trying to extract the file under Koodoo using the 7 zip file manager. i keep getting the message it can't open because it isn't archived...So i googled when that happens, apparently the file is curropt? Don't see how since no one else seems to have complained about the file and i didn't touch it after download. So, any help would be appreciated...i just rooted my phone today so i'm beyond a noob. Thank you for your help!
I would try a different program to extract it. And maybe redownload and try again.
P.S- If you just rooted your device your are still very much a noob.

LOL, when i meant beyond a noob, i meant i was worse than a noob, not better off. And could you suggest any other programs that would uninstal a .7z? I didn't even know that extension existed until today...Winrar doesn't cover it.

Like Task suggested, chances are that you'll have to redownload the file. A corrupted file won't show just like that so it could look perfectly fine but actually be corrupted.

I've re-downloaded it 4 different times . And it won't let me post on the thread to notify the OP due to my thread count.
When you right click, are you choosing "open archive" or "extract someplace"?
I'm having the same issue with the Telus rom from that link. Unable to extract the .7z file.
Downloaded it twice already, currently downloading it for the 3rd time now. tried using WinRar and 7-Zip....no luck!

[Q] Question about ADB pushing?

sorry if i posted it on the wrong section but unfortunately there isnt a section for my phone(LG DoublePlay)
this is just a general questino about ADB pushing.
i accedentally deleted a system app on my phone and now my phone doesnt respond. i have a stock ROM and want to push the app back into the phone. but i forgot which system app i deleted.
also, i cannot flash the ROM because my phone doesnt allow that
QUESTION: if i push all the system apps/files into the phone, will there be two copies of the same or will it replace the original?

i cant. my phone doesnt let my flash. there arent even any roms for my phone ....LG DoublePlay sucks. i wasnt able to fix my phone still. dont
know what i will do anymore. just cause i deleted something.
There's got to be a stock RUU image or something you can run. its definitely fixable most likely. Its late here and I've been sick, but if you send me a PM with the model of your phone and everything I will do some research.
(I realize the irony in that sentence. Lol)

so many thanks bro ive been asking around for days and no one seemed to help me. Anyways, my device is the LG DoublePlay(c729).
I downloaded a file from another guy that has the stock rom(funny cause there isnt a single on ein the internet. had to pm him for it).
anyways, after i rooted my phonei wanted to be an idiot and delete the bloatware. i accidentally deleted a system file on Titanium Backup
and an error came saying 'the process home(lge.SubDIsplayhome.app........" it has a force close button that when i click, it comes up again.
my phone works fine except the forceclose button and the second screen doesnt work(the LG DOUBLEPLAY has a second small scrren when you
slide it). So i read about adb pushing and figured why not? After hours of frustration and hair pulling, i was able to push and apk called SubDisplayHome.apk and .odex thinking that i mustve deleted that , since the there error said the the SUbDisplayHome blah blah stop working.
well, after i pushed both .apk and .odex into the system/app, i rebooted and it still gave the error. i then tried to use this program called batch adb or something(it "takes multiple files and pushes it to system). but i got errors on the program when it was pushing it. the top bar on my android phone dissappeared and so i rebooted it, and it came back. but i still wasnt able to get rid of that force close button. sorry if i made you read all this, ive given up on fixing this and am thinking of paying 200 dollars for technician repair at LG

WIFI not working...

Can someone pls tell me why my Wifi is not working. I FLASHED the Synergy latest ROM and now I can't connect to wifi..I tried in other spots and it still tries but will not connect...help.. it gives me an "Saved"or "unable to authenticate error"...this happens anywhere that I try to connect to Wifi...and I actually have to turn WIFI off in order to download data from a file....any suggestions???
Did you chdck the md5 before flashing? Also did you clean flash the rom? One last thing, did you restore any system apps using titanium backup? Any of these three things can cause lots of headaches.

I did not chk the md5..don't really understand what to do with that...I did a clean install and didn't restore apps from Titanium backup...
What do I look for in the md5 and what actually do I do with it..do I install like I am installing a custom ROM???
Usuall the websiye you download the rom from has an md5 or the original post(op) of the thread you got it from has it. It looks like just a bunch of random letters and numbers. Thr way you check the md5 of your file is to go to the playstore and download md5 checker. Also file explorers like root explorer have it. I find it easier though to use the md5 checker app. You open it and it has a box that says load file. You navigate the program to the file( your synergy rom) then you click the select file. It will calculate the md5. Then you just make sure that md5 matches the md5 on the page or thread.

I basically have the same issue for the international version.
This was my first time installing a custom rom, used the 'cm-10.1-20130708-NIGHTLY-n7100.zip ' latest nightly build.
Anyway everything seems to work fine, but WiFi gets stuck on authenticating / obtaining IP address.
I did the MDR5 thing, and when I check it turns red.
I believe I had a similar issue once when I only rooted it. I fixed it by placing the right WiFi file on my phone. But I can't recall the name nor method.

Sorry nothing, not even a tiny hint in my mind. All I remember was I needed a file to fix it
Wait. I forgot something. I got a reply somewhere else telling the following:
'For your case go to the dial number screen and put *#0011# hit the menu then go to WiFi at the bottem. You will notice that the wifi is on eco mode, just get is disabled. There you go'.
I haven't tried it yet since I restored my phone to normal because I needed my WiFi working for apps and messaging.
Tell me if it works!:good:
It didn't work

I'm having the exact same problem, every time I try and flash an AOSP rom. Stock roms like All-Star and Whomp don't give me any issues, but paranoid, CM, anything along those lines at all, they all give me the same issue. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.
Wanted to comment here again to a POSSIBLE fix. I backed up any internal files I needed to an outside source, then formatted my entire internal storage. Since then, I don't get the Authenticating/Obtaining IP issue as much. I sometimes have to turn the wifi off and back on just once if I restart my phone, but that's about it. Not sure if it'll work for anyone else, but it's helped me.
