You have specific drivers for JB 4.2 and 4.1.
Arco already included in his vendor repo, the proprietary drivers for adreno 4.1 in JB branch.
For those who are trying to port JB 4.2 (any variant, cm, etc.) to ancora, this new drivers will fit like a charm.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus

I think that the 4.2 roms will be smooth as hell.
For now this doesn't works on 4.1 because it's a 4.2 driver.
For 4.1 we have a minimized\demo driver, this is a complete driver but only for 4.2.
I don't know if is possible to backport to 4.1 but if anyone would do it, it will be appreciated

There isn't a cm-10.1 yet.
The main propose of this thread is to inform SGW community that there's hope for cm-10.1 with a full refined adreno driver in our W.
BTW, Adreno 200 is GPU inside our W.

It's not that you guys don't have cm10.1. arco has been working on it for a really long time. but all your development work is depending on him. i mean, some advanced users and rom modders from the w community can also start to work with the source code and start to develop new roms based on 4.2. i am from the s plus community. from there you can see that cm9 was initially done by arco and ivendor later joined in. then cm10 was initially done by doom and then camcory and finally ivendor. now cm10.1 is almost finished and it was initially worked on by both xistance and camcory. now, doom has returned back again and has opened a new thread where he will be providing 3 builds a week for cm10.1 so users can stay upto date with cm changes as xistance does not update that frequently. another example being the pacman rom, when camcory decided to abandon it due to lack of time, krislibaeer started to work on it.
So,my bottomline is that arco is the spine for all the 3 devices, but he is also a human and has a life. so despite, waiting for it why not try to build something worthwhile like aokp or jellytime based on 4.2.2 and let arco release cm10.1,when he feels ready?
just my 2 cents

Best kernel to use with JB?

Stock? Havn't found a kernel yet which doesn't lag for me atleast =] i dont mean extreme lag just little stutters that i didn't noticed when using stock
I've been happy with the GlaDos 2.0RC on JB so far..
I'm happy with the stock one for now.

Stock. its the smoothest for me so far
Can anybody give Me a link for the stock kernel thanks in advance

Just like any 'what kernel should I use with _____' thread, answers will never be objective and will be based on individual results which will not necessarily be reproducible on every handset. There are already multiple threads asking what the best kernel is for 4.1.
Also:
1. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has not been released. A developer preview does not count.
2. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean sources have not been released

been running Lean kernel, and its my first "non-stock" kernel since flashing jellybean last week. gotta say I love it so far. great battery life, and just as smooth as stock as far as my use goes. I got 4 1/2 hrs of screen on time tody with it. on WiFi all day, but still happy

My feelings exactly... I have always been a Franko kernel user previously, but I found his JB kernel to be very choppy. I then went and reflashed the ROM(didn't know where to get the actual stock kernel from) so I could go back to the stock kernel and I am happy again! lol
But it really is a personal choice which depends a lot on what you individually want to do with your phone.

kernel source was released the same day that the google io attendies received JellyBean. since google released it, they legally have to provide kernel source according to the GPL. our kernel devs here all follow GPL as well, thats one of the requirements of xda to allow them to post their custom kernels. btw, source is where it always is. please dont insult our wonderful kernel developers.

Subject: [android-building] GPL components for the Jelly Bean preview
To: <[email protected]>
As usual, Android 4.1 ("Jelly Bean") contains a few components
licensed under the GPL or similar licenses. For the preview that was
just announced at Google I/O, the source code of those components is
available in AOSP.
The JFN53F platform components are tagged android-4.1_pre1 in their
respective projects. That's the version that Nexus 7 has in the box.
The JRN84D platform components are tagged android-4.1_pre2 in their
resepctive projects. That's the automatic update for both Nexus 7 and
Galaxy Nexus.
The SDK platform components are tagged android-4.1-sdk_pre1 in their
resepctive projects.
They are available with full source history. They are fully merged
into the master branch (except webkit). They all build on top of the
current AOSP master.
The Nexus 7 kernels are in the kernel/tegra project, under SHA-1
8dd2eab (in the box) and 55edff4 (the update). The Galaxy Nexus kernel
is in the kernel/omap project, under SHA-1 e8de0e2. They all have full
source history.

Whats left to get official CM10 ?

Hello everyone,
now we have a really stable CM9 release and also nearly fully working CM10 builds, I'm wondering whats left to get official CM10 support. Epsylon postet that he an Quarx want to achieve this:
"So we are making a common repo for Defy and Defy+ also, and only this version will have official support..." (or isn't he talking about official CM support?)
CM team posted this diagramm a few month ago. It shows how high the chances are to get official CM9. Well, CM9 seems dead now, but we're still at the marked point I guess:
Now I have two questions: Do you think that even for CM10 a device with same chipset and manufacturer JB is required? Also whats the sense behind this requirement? If we meet Googles ICS/JB APIs and everything is working fine on our device, why do we need other OMAP3 devices with manufacturer ICS/JB?
Maybe we can discuss chances of getting official CM10 in this thread. For me Epsylon seems optimistic, even though he postet this last week:

Right now are hopes rest on L.G.
They are scheduled to release ICS for Optimus Black in Q3 2012.
It has the same chipset,GPU.
But drivers normaly are a part of the kernel. So manufactured ICS for LG P970 wouldn't bring advantages from my point. In addition we allready have latest GPU driver and all other parts are also working with ICS/JB (Camera, radio, wlan...).

I guess there goes our hopes for official CM10.
Didn't we loose it at the "dedicated GPU" anyway? I thought it was our CPU who was also the GPU. Why would Motorola put a dedicated GPU if they never put an android version using HWA on it?
Anyway no biggie, developers versions released after the official 7.1 & 7.2 have always been better than official releases.
EDIT: my bad, specs on gsmarena says we got a PowerVR SGX530 GPU

Awesome job. I was thinking about putting an updated repo together for our section, but I decided against it, but yours is great.
Now, I have some constructive criticism and/or ideas for you which you can decide to either use, or ignore.. but here are some of my thoughts.
(I've included info, followed by a link, followed by the bb-code for simple addition to your list, excluding formatting (you can add that :highfive: )
From what I've seen, most of the best roms we have include Adreno libs and GPU Driver Update, so I suggest adding them:
I personally recommend the GPU Update if using CM10.1 (or roms based on it):
Update (GPU) (KGLS) drivers
HTML:
Update (GPU) (KGLS) drivers
The Adreno 220 drivers should be a useful addition, even just for dev purposes if nothing else:
[Driver] Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU ICS Flashable Update {UnSigned}

And I also suggest including some of the available p930 dev information that you've missed:
Might be obsolete, but might want to throw it in:

It may also be a good idea to include some popular themes and apps.. I love the MIUI x4 Apex/ADW/Go theme, and the Touchwiz 5.0 theme for CM10.1 and there are also several very useful threads, and information in the Android Development and Hacking sub-forum.. Might want to take a look there, and include some of the good info provided there.
As I mentioned above -- and this is just a thought -- I suggest simply copy/pasting the thread title instead of the way you have some of the roms, and such labelled; as they are somewhat misleading to a native English-speaking person (me), so I imagine people less fluent in English may have more trouble finding exactly what they're looking for via this thread. Again, as I said everything I've suggested here are simply that - suggestions. I am not trying to tell you what to include, or how to make a thread, and I hope my tips are useful to you.
Thanks again for taking the time to put up an updated repository, and taking on the responsibility of keeping a thread updated for our section of these awesome forums.
Thanks NFleck! I've added the ones you listed to the repository. I'll go through and find the popular apps and such when I have more time.

No? They're for the lg p930.. With some being ported to the korean model.
Never heard any mention of being compatible with the lg spectrum.. Although with the same processor/gpu there could be some cross-compatibility. I'd look in that sub-forum for dev...

I'm terribly puzzled
I've have spent 16-19 hours on my computer trying to find the best Rom for my LG Nitro HD. I have explored each and every thread above read and studied the comments one by one, over and over again trying to find a good and stable Rom. probably one that works fine. fast and smooth. I'm a complete android noob, android is not common were I'm from in Africa. People here prefer Blackberry and Nokia Asha phones so all I have is you guys to help me. I know there is no perfect ROM out here, there is always one issue or the other. when i was going through the threads i got confused so confused that i cant make any decision. I have not installed and tested any Rom before. I don't want to risk and use my phone for experiment. I use LG Nitro HD AT&T Unlocked. Please guys tell me which Rom that has Good-Normal battery life, sensitive digitizer, smooth and fast, less random crashes, application compatible, Bluetooth and data working, camera and 1080p video recording working and most of all does not require unbrick process. May not be as good as what i listed above but anything close to that will be well appreciated. Please help a brother. You guys are way far better and experienced than I am. I know how to install Roms, Root ETC. dont need to teach me. Please all I need is suggestions.

I'll hit the most important point first; the need to unbrick. If you are running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) then you will not have to unbrick; merely flash CWM once you are rooted. If you are running an official 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, I regret to inform you that you will indeed be required to unbrick. No way around that and it's really not as hard as it looks.
My answer is going to be quite general as the important qualities are fairly static from ROM to ROM. That being said, the ICS and CM9 ROMs will likely be your best bet as far as stability and battery life go. CM10 and up seem to be fairly stable as well but go through battery much faster than ICS. For the most part, the other qualities you have listed are quite close to being equal across the board. Some may be smoother than others, but in my honest opinion, the differences between ROMs - outside of battery life and 'bells and whistles' - is negligible and tends to come down more to personal preference.

Thanks for the reply. I'm running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread)/ Rooted. did CM9 Roms Eliminated the the Lag that comes with LG Nitro HD. I noticed that the phone doesn't run so smooth compared to other dual core phones (Skyrocket, ETC) and the screen digitizer does not register your touch so easily. Did any of these Rom tackle the matter? I'm ok with just the normal Battery life. I'm thinking of Liquid Nitro. On your opinion Does it seem to work for you?

Will this introduce any problems if switching between the already existing ICS, CMx ROMs other than needing the corresponding gapps lite from there on out?
I would be interested in your 3.4 kernel. Do you have the source on github?
I also be interested in his 3.4 kernel

Will available on my Github later.
Who install ROM please install patch_1.zip
If you delete strings from build.prop
ro.build.target_operator=SKT
ro.build.target_country=KR
you will see new settings for GSM and it remove T Roaming Settings.

Yeah no problems here. But I did install through CWM and not ROM manager. Out of habit I install new ROMs through CWM due to issues I have had with installing new ROMs through ROM manager.

What are the advantages of the 3.4 kernel ? more compatible with JB 4.x.x ?
EDIT: Got the answer here for those interested: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/39958-what-is-the-value-of-the-linux-34-kernel/
Btw, great work.

Yes of course. Full ION support, better capability with CAF, JB-camera, full support Adreno (KGSL), bla-bla-bla....

Alight thanks ... i found more specifics here: http://rootzwiki.com/topic/39958-what-is-the-value-of-the-linux-34-kernel/
I see you created the repo on your github, but as of now it is empty, will you be adding the content in the near future ? Would really like to compile a PAC build with it and try it out
Thanks and keep up the good work :good:
Yeah that's all cool but the thing I am hoping to see is more stability. The 2.6.35 kernel was very stable. The 3.0.x kernel is not so stable.

Dont know about 2.6.35, but 3.0.x not stable because all using CM kernel for base. CM kernel base on CAF sources, not on LG original sources.
3.4 working very good for me. Battery life and performance on Stock 4.1 are great without any dirty tweaks and patches in kernel!

CM took the lu6200 ICS sources and added display stuff from caf.
The original lge ICS ota was unstable for all iproj devices.
I have a weak p930 that will be the judge of the new 3.4 kernel. It reboots about every 5 to 15 minutes under the ics kernel. I will try when I get sources... No sources, no install...
Can't wait to flash this once WiFi is working
I don't have unlimited data and use WiFi a lot.
Flashed this ROM. It looks very good except WIFI issue. Am now testing battery drain. Looking for WiFi fix.
I've been checking this thread every
Hour for a WiFi fix... I use this as a WiFi only device so the lackthereof is a killer right now for me... That being said if anyone has a lead on what's breaking it I would love to help find a fix for the problem. Really never thought we would see a jb release for our device from LG but I believe it will be a major stepping stone for future development of our P93x's. Once again I wanna thank miroslav and all the other great devs and tinkerers who bust their asses to make our phones into beasts, and I look forward to seeing what awesomeness will come with these recent leaks.
