Hey guys I just had to do a complete unroot on my Sprint Galaxy S3 after updating my People's ROM from version 3.10 to 3.11. 3.11 would never load and was stuck in a boot-loop. Flashed it about 4 times and could never get it to work. Re-flashed back to 3.10 but the phone would just never work right. Was loving it while it lasted but now I'm looking for something else, but something close to People's ROM. Unless kennyglass and his awesome team can get all the bugs worked out. If they do, I will re-root and flash People's again. Loved having both cams, felt that the stock kernel with the ROM was sucking down the battery. Anyone have any advice on a awesome kernel that works with most if not all ROM's and is battery efficient?
Thanks in advance for the replies. :cyclops:

Did you check to see if you had a bad download. You should have compared the md5 sums.
And ktoonz has been giving me the best battery life with all the ROMs I have tried.

myself as well as tons of others are happy with TPR, sorry sir but there are no bugs (far as I can tell) with this great rom, as said sounds like you got a bad download. did you have nandroid backup? if you did you could have reverted back to that by going into recovery manually and used your backup, always, always, always backup before flashing anything :good: good luck
TPR has no bugs. The bugs where either on your download or on your device. TPR loads and is better than almost anything out there. I'm partial to it, but really feel insulted and I hope Kenny Rompnit and the rest of the crew don't see this insult of their work.

Ooooh OP.. No you di'nt!
You done riled up The People now!
If only you had asked for help in thread or PM... The People are always there for each other.
AND you forgot the 1st rule of flashing... ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS Back up before flashing ANYTHING! With 1GB ROMs the chances of bad downloads and flashes are much greater.

It seems extremely narcissistic and illogical to assume that there is absolutely no possibility that you made an honest mistake (or that a random network error resulted in a bad download). But anyone who has used TPR will immediately dismiss the OP as the words of an uninformed individual who lacks the effort and interest to become more informed. If those who have never used TPR aren't smart enough to recognize the fact that this claim completely contradicts at least 99.9% of the reports about the rom, then they probably won't be missed anyway, lol
OP, you basically managed to destroy any credibility you might have had with that one post. If you were hoping to troll up some drama, you chose the wrong forum and the wrong rom to target

I think you did something wrong. I dont have any issues with my phone at all. Infact i been getting excellent performance and amazing battery life. Try downloading and flashing again. Make sure you flash the whole file, i had to set my laptop not to fall asleep while waiting to download the big file. I flashed mine dirty, but sounds luke you may want to wipe cache first and then flashing. Good luck

before opening mouth and inserting foot please check md5 and make sure you are using a BB cable to transfer rom to phone
edit: and you are behind by 2 releases we are at 3.13 now
Lol. I download everything over 3g/now LTE and never had a bad download.
I had only one md5 fail transferring for the PC to a phone. 3 phones, and only mine had the fail.
I was :-0 "three phones and only mine is soft bricked. what a luck"
But also I had a NANDROID. So no worry.

Think it's just bad download OP, Been on TPR for quite some time, testing releases, never had an issue unless it was a bad download. ALWAYS Verify MD5. However, if you do decide TPR is not right for you, See the MoAR Thread. It's like TPR but different

Just because I may have had a bad download and/or something wrong with my device has nothing to do with me insulting anyone. I too loved TPR and was enjoying the hell out of it. There was nothing in my question/comment/post that was insulting in any way, shape, or form. I really think you're taking this someplace it doesn't need to go.

I believe The People took offense to your choice of words stating that the ROM had bugs and none of the responsibility was yours. Usually for someone to make such a statement there should be some corroboration. The first thing anyone should do is wipe data, redownload and reflash before stating there is a bug. And for you also to state you would return when we fix it when nothing was broken but perhaps your download is ludicrous. Next time ask for help in the ROM thread. The People are very accomodating and bend over backwards to anyone asking for help...not so much for self-righteousness.
Now with all that said, redownload 3.13 and ask in the ROM thread if you have any questions.

OP stands for: Original post, OR original poster (the person who started the thread)
But yeah, it seems like you offended quite a couple people. Did you check the rom thread to see if anyone else had issues with 3.13? It may be that the update required a full wipe before installing as well, as the nature of some updates require a clean flash instead of a dirty one
Personally, I always recommended checking for problems on your end before suggesting problems on the roms end. The developers put a lot of work into this and do it in their spare time, so suggesting that something they made, and tested extensively, has bugs doesnt exactly come off as a compliment
Not trying to patronize, but remember that all of this is strictly through text. Not everyone may interpret what you wrote in the way you intended for it to be interpreted or in the way you understand it

Thanks for understanding.
How about you apologize to Kenny and the Team for saying that the rom had "bugs" and was "broken" when in fact there is nothing wrong with it. And take acceptance that you may have had a bad download, and may have not known what you where doing, and started a whole thread because you failed to seek help in the Rom thread where you should have in the first place. It's not that I wanted to pick on you it's your choice of words and lack of knowledge when it comes to flashing. It's better to ask questions and ask for help than to make FALSE accusations and statements in a public forum.

Is this a problem? Is this also the reason why, when I rooted using the two other others (manual and AutoRoot), I couldn't flash any roms other than CM7??

EDIT.......this has happened to alot of peeps lately./.....boot into HBOOT and check yur status....S-ON or S-OFF.........
What you need to do is boot into the bootloader, select clear storage [factory reset], then run unrevoked again, and you'll be good.
And for future reference, please post questions of this nature in the Q&A section.

You need to find a recovery you like in a form of the PC36IMG and put it on the root of the sd card. power down your phone. hold volume down and press the power key and then hit yes to select to flash or install the img.
I understanding where op is coming from. Why post in q&a if nobody replies when you can post in general and actually get answered? Rules are rules and if a mod is in a bad mood, good luck. Everybody had been B-itchy on the forums lately... (Not directed to anybody specific)

Anyway, this worked like a charm my friend. Thank you sooo much!
Now one other problem, perhaps you can help me?
I am having a problem flashing roms. I have tried ALL THREE METHODS of rooting (Manual, Auto, Unrevoked). What's happening is:
When I flash CM7, everything works fine.
When I flash MIUI or BOS Liquid Royal, I keep getting stuck in bootloop (white evo 4g screen.) NO idea why. I have downloaded the file over 10 times each (in case of bad file, even on 3 diff computers.)
Is it because my Hardware version is 0004??
One side note, when I try to wipe dalvik-cache, I get this error:
Wiping cache...
Formatting CACHE...
Cache wipe complete.
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p2
(File exists)
You guys can refer to this thread if you'd like to know everything I have tried, or just ask and I'll answer again:

I second that sentiment.

I come to xda purely for the roms. The support here sucks. Everyone that seems to know anything and especially those that don't seem to come down on those seeking guidance with really toolbag like answers. If someone isn't getting answers in the q&a section then what's the point of even having one. I'm sorry if upsets your precious rules but quite frankly in going to go where I can get help. My suggestion to anyone tired of getting slammed for asking a question or needing help I suggest you turn to android central as they have always been good to me and I see far fewer flamers there. We are all human here people. None of you were born experts, you had to learn from someone. So try lightening up a bit, untwist your panties and get over yourselves otherwise you will indeed lose all your membership base. This is supposed to be a community for growth, support and a place for android users to have fellowship. I apologize if what I have said has offended anyone as this is not directed at all of the xda community, but with that being said if you find yourself with your scivies in a bunch then I am probably referring to you. To those that are supportive I thank you, you are a huge part of what makes android so great.
As far as the error I'm sorry to say I'm not sure about that one......if it were me I would try a FORMAT ALL zip......it does a complete wipe or data and such by u still need to wipe dalvik........sorry I can't answer that one foe ya man.....I'm sure one of these guys will help I with that one.....good luck man......these fellas will her u going for sure.......ohhh........and ignore the TROLLS.......plenty software good guys around here

I <3 asshats. GTFU people, I'm sure this question didn't seem that importamd to you, but to this person it was. ICE CREAM SANDWICH!!
Before you consider it though, READ this. Read it closely.
The goal of this thread isn't to be dramatic at all. There was no big issue...this topic didn't really have to be posted.
But the idea is to purely be helpful. Not everybody who surfs these forums knows everything that's going on and its nice to have all the information in one place. I hope this information helps you determine whether or not the ICS leak is good for you.
There are common issues among all ICS-leak based ROMs. I hope this helps a lot of you since I've seen the same questions in a lot of ROM threads, over and over.
Mods if you can sticky, +1!
#0: A LITTLE BACKGROUND
================================================
When I say "ICS-leak based ROMs", I am saying that the current state of ICS roms on the T989 is that they are based on the ICS leak for our AT&T cousin, the Skyrocket. Thus there are still issues.
That being said...flash Skyrocket roms at your own risk.
Common issues in ALL leak-based roms:
(* Does not neccesarily apply to Raver's AOSP build, it is FUNDAMENTALLY different so read his topic and follow his posts *)
Call echo for about 50-75% of us. A temporary solution is to play around with your case(if you have one on your phone) OR turn off Noise Reduction while in a call
There is no Wi-Fi calling
Shutdown doesn't work for some people. THIS IS WHY YOU MUST SUPERWIPE!! (See #3)
Some video streaming problems
Some video recording problems (depends on ROM)
Some AT&T specific modifications that can give you problems. I.E. there is no 2G/4G toggle switch
Point is: THEY'RE NOT PERFECT YET
#1!
================================================
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING
If you don't know what ClockworkMod is and how to access the Recovery menu,
STOP here. Look around, read some tutorials, and immerse yourself in some basic Android knowledge.
This can mean the difference between frying a $250+ device and running a cool ROM on it. Do what you do wisely.
Keep your battery charged and make backups.
#2!
================================================
MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
This is the same as using the Backup and Restore menu in CWM. You have been warned. The devs aren't responsible for lost data.
#3!
================================================
BEFORE FLASHING ICS ROMS
Super super important:
Run this script via CWM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955
THIS WILL WIPE YOUR PHONE...and align the partitions properly for ICS
Run it again. Do it twice to be safe!
Then flash your ROM.
#4!
================================================
PATCH YOUR ACCELEROMETER
Without this, your phone will not AutoRotate, games and many media apps will give you headaches, and your CAMERA WILL BE BROKEN.
Most of the ROMs here should have this patch built in. If you're a dev and haven't added it in yet, please do so !!
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1592170

================================================
WHEN LOOKING AT THE DEVELPMENT TOPIC
Use the topic search function before you post a question.
I'm not a topic police officer. I don't really care what people post in my own topics as long as its not bickering. But asking questions when they've already been asked does take up space and makes the topic harder to sift through so please be courteous to the devs Do yourself and all of us a favor. Look through it first! This is a cycle...if people look through the topics before posting, their question will be most likely answered and then they will not need to post. The topic gets less cluttered and the next person who has a question has less pages to look through
And different OP's have different requests for their topics. Please be courteous.
THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION
I can stand with Raver in saying this. As a matter of fact, I plan on collaborating with him.
The point is:
XDA isn't about competition. It's about innovation. So please don't say X ROM is better than Y ROM, everyone has their own taste.
TO REPORT BUGS
Follow the instructions in the ROM dev's OP.
I'm actually going to make a Mantis bug tracker for our ICS ROMs. Devs and themers, let me know if you're interested via PM.
GOING BACK TO GINGERBREAD?
Although the ICS roms are fairly stable at this point, some of you may wish to go back to Gingerbread for whatever reason. Before flashing back to GB: REPEAT STEP 3 ABOVE, DO THE SUPERWIPE!
must read if your new to ics
This should be sticky or like placed in the top 5 spots or something where people are sure to read it.
Oh ya if you missed it
DARKSIDE WIPE MULTIPLE TIMES!!!
Just asked a mod to sticky it

To add and not that it maybe required, after running super wipe a few times I have ran samsung_ultimate_kernel_cleaning_script_by_lippol94 which has given me almost perfect results with any ICS flash I have done.

Here's my take on this. What's the first thing someone is going to be looking for when going to their phones section on xda? "Development" right? Now thnknof how many people, more specifically those with the xda app, go to "stickies" for information first?. My guess is not the majority. This thread is also clearly labeled as to what it is and is formatted so anyone can relate and understand. Therefore while I see that you think its the same I vouch it stays. Until we get our own version of ics we and the more bugs are fixed or found, this sticky would prove useful. It also keeps random questions or repeat questions out of from threads.

The goal wasn't to be dramatic at all. There was no big issue and I'm not a topic cop...IDC what people post but to make it easier for everyone in general its nice to have a little primer.
But the idea is to purely be helpful. Not everybody who surfs these forums knows everything that's going on and its nice to have all the information in one place. You'll be surprised.

I think it's great right here. Especially for those who are new, don't know how to search, are mentally slow on finding stuff. It's right here in your face when you walk into the Dev section. Don't close this. Just because some people know enough, doesn't mean others do. I know, but there's still a lot of people who don't.

The post was appreciated, not for me but I know for some who are new as replied above. Many forget that there are people out there that are not as perfect as they are. Remember, you once were as newb as those who are (new) here. Treat others as you would wanted to be treated.
Although ICS is nice and I have had great results it's just so early in dev stages I must go back to the darkside.
To clarify....cani use the skyrocket ics roms such as skyics and have working data? How? Someone here posted that they did.

Yes, you can flash Skyrocket roms. I have flashed several of the ICS leak roms, and have not lost data connection. I just wipe and flash. No issues for me.. other than having to de-att it.
If you loose data then try a superwipe?
This thread, while informative, does make it seem like a "big deal " but it really just isn't. They are the same flipping phone!!! And now that one of our local geniuses have figured out the auto rotation issues, we are golden to share in all the SR ICS love

I think alot of the issues people have which are common across many ICS leak based roms but that only a percent of users get are purely due to the way the rom was flashed. Clearly you dont need to do all the wipes but if you dont and you get one of these bad rom flashing bugs then dont complain to the dev.

Good to hear you are still around dude, this forum can't afford to lose mod's like you.
On another note, I am really hoping ppl start to calm down in the development forums. I have never witnessed anything like this on XDA before. Constant sniping is a pure waste of everybody's time and does nothing for development or enjoyment of this site. I would be interested to hear if anyone has some "positive" ideas on how to improve the situation?

Well, I look forward to seeing the finished product. Thanks.
GUYS. I'm getting an S3 in a couple of weeks!!!! so pumped.
I'm coming from an Optimus V. Development on that phone is FANTASTIC, but I have terrible service in my hometown, and let's face it: this phone is 29395x better.
I've never really used xda much, because androidcentral is good for the OV. I checked out the ac forum for the s3, and it's awful in comparison. So I thought...I'd better get over to xda
I have a few very random questions...
I hope it's okay that I post them here...
1. What are flamers and trolls?? lol.
2. I saw a video on how to easily root the Att Galaxy S3. Seemed simple enough. However, what is this talk of 'tripping a flash counter'?? is it okay to trip the flash counter, and can I reset that later if I wanna go back to stock??
3. I guess cwm is probably the best(favorited) recovery to use??
Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions

1. people who are rude and ignorant.
2. Use the no trip root method and everything should be fine. Tripping a flash counter is a way for att/samsung to know that you messed with your phone, it can be a problem for warranty returns, but there is an app called triangle away that should reset this. I havent tried it so I personaly cannot confirm.
3. there was a little bit of argument on which recovery was better when there was the missing imei problem, now that it is solved it doesn't really matter (all personal preference). But please don't forget to do a NV backup or at least a backup of your Imei no.
and by the way welcome to xda it is a great place for information and if you do searches first and post in the propper section the people here are great.

One thing that depressed me, in which was easily resolved, was the ringtones, notifications and alarms. They honestly suck, you could at least give me one business class ringtone (a classic phone maybe). So anyways a quick search of the android market and I am overly satisfied again.

Perfect place to post, good to see someone else joining myself and Archangel in this chat thread. Here are my answers to your questions:
1. Troll - Someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
Flaming - Hostile and insulting interaction between Internet users, often involving the use of profanity.
2. If you trip the flash counter and take your phone in for warranty work, Samsung will know you have flashed unsigned firmware on your phone and may deny your warranty claim. There is a working method in place to reset your trip counter back to zero but it costs a few bucks. If you root and install a custom recovery (cwm or twrp) using this method, then flash all roms using that recovery, you will not trip the counter.
3. This is up for debate, so here are the facts. CWM is the recommended recovery for most custom roms and many developers will not provide support if you flash using another recovery. On the other side of the coin, a number of people have lost their imei flashing roms (phone cannot connect to cellular network), and a theory exists that cwm may be the culprit as no one using any other recovery has experienced this loss. I personally use twrp, a touch based recovery alternative to cwm, works well and gives me comfort on the imei issue.
One more item: If you are planning to flash custom roms, make sure to backup your imei using this method. Restoring these backups has been proven to fix the issue.

Thank you so much for your answers!!!!
1. Ahh. We had some of those on the V ac forum.
2. Ohhhh. Well I'm hoping I'll never have to take it in for warranty work, but that's a nice fix!
3. I see. and twrp has no downsides, other than not being officially supported? Does it still flash any rom?? How is the compatibility of backups between the two recoveries?
On the V, I switched firmwares quite a bit with the Optimus S, so I know the importance of knowing all my cell info(nv backup, spc(msl), aaa key, ha key, etc.) Thanks so much for the link on how to backup all of this stuff, I'm sure it's different than the V haha.

No, backups are incompatible between twrp and cwm. I have done all of my flashing with twrp, problem free.

You can only really see the pentile pattern if you actively look for it. It was far worse on my old Captivate because the resolution was much lower; on the S3... i haven't noticed it casually, but if I get up real close and examine the diff between red/green/blue diagonal lines, I can still see the crosshatch diff in red and blue (green is solid).
Much ado over nothing. Samsung said they returned to pentile for the S3 (vs nonpentile in the S2) because the screen lasts longer. I'm fine with that.
EDIT: And because this is OFF-TOPIC, let me just add........ Marklar marklar marklar?! Marklar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that stuff is crazy!!! Those guys are all SO smart. wonder if any of them hang out on the forums.
Where do you guys get authoritative information about Android flashing/modding/development? Like, where does a developer go?
I've read about 10 explanations of deodexing and, while I totally get the "concept," I have lots of little questions questions (are new apps also de-odexed? how can only the first boot slow? someone said they d/l'd regular files and de-odexed himself?!). All the guides explain it simplistically. Where can I find the nitty-gritty and technical explanations of these things? Some super-guide? I don't mind reading 100 pages, as long as it's thorough and authoritative.
I used to mod Sony Ericssons and, while a little difficult, there was one flashing tool, maybe 5 skins for your media player, three or four I-know-what-I'm-doing developers, and we "rooted" using a brute-force method that took sometimes 15 hours. And there was no nitty gritty, really, because, if you could edit an XML file, you were close to the end of our knowledge, haha.

Hey all I am rather new to the rooting/ROM scene. I was big into jailbreaking iphones but finally saw the light and switched to android.
So I have a T-mobile Galaxy S3 with stock 4.1.1 android, I have it rooted and I used ROM manager to flash ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.2.3.
I have not ventured into the ROM world yet but I would like to know which would be the most stable? Also do you lose all data everytime you flash a ROM? If that is the case that would probably dissuade me from doing it
Is there anything else that is recommended for a rooted phone with custom recovery?
Thanks guys!
I forgot to add that I am wondering about custom modems.. I live in a very rural area and I normally only have Edge network. Would this even be worth doing?

Ummmm..... YEH. A nandroid backup!!!!! Before u go ahead and tranform your phone into decepticon! Lol
Cmw, is good but I use the one from goo manager. I think their both capable of a backup!
Then afterwards have a go at it with 4.2 roms.. almost stable but still a few bugs
And touchwiz roms which are pretty much stable 4.0.4, 4.1.1 and. Soon to include 4.1.2 touchwiz roms <---- im waiting for that one
As long as u flash d2tmo roms u shouldn't come across any data problems even more so with touchwiz roms.

. You can try cyanogenmod they are usually pretty stable with all bloatware removed. Well you can always have an app like titanium backup or rom toolbox that can back up your data every time you want to flash a new rom then restore it. OK so read this carefully there's a thread that you need to find so you CAN BACK UP YOUR EMEI, if you don't know what that is its sort it like the brain of your phone you messed that up and it could become paperweight. Back up that nvfolder... also with CWR backup your current stock rom in case something goes bad you can always go back to something stable. Also don't flash other modems that's not from tmobile this will Brick your device. Since you seem pretty new don't go and flash att roms or kernels some say they have done it with no issue but again your fairly new.

It is not a question of being lazy it is a request for information from those that know more than I do and can direct me in the right direction.
I have read about many different ROMs but I am not sure as to which one is the most stable and offer less risk of potential issues.
I like the look of the Jelly Bam ROM but it is not for the T-mobile S3.

No problem here to help like others helped me. Your emei is a bunch of numbers that gives your phone identity, to your carrier. When flashing, modding themes your emei might mysteriously mess up hence why you need to back it up. Some say cwm is causing it so they prefer the touch recovery others still use cwm without issue. Also never give out those numbers they are personnel to your phone, someone who's tech savvy enough could get it.

yea I read some about it a few minutes ago and I get what it is. Seems like you are def SOL if you screw that up!
A friend of mine lost his phone in Baltimore one weekend and someone found it and posted all over his facebook, we called the service provided and they blacklisted the phone using his EMEI number but also told us that the phone would be a brick after they did it. My friend called his phone and the guy wanted him to pay hundreds to get it back...some people lol.
@OP here is the thread that will help you back up your IMEI. It was the very first thing I did when I got this phone, even before Rooting. If you do lose your IMEI, this will inject it back in.
I suggest that you go into the Dev section and read a few OPs (do you know the difference between AOSP and TWiz ROMs?). Find a few you like and then go in and read about the last 10 pages to get a feel for bugs. If you find one you like, then start reading.
2 things:
First, since you have 5 kids and budding family, you need something that is consistantly working. For this I do not suggest jumping into the "flashing custom ROMs pool" feet first into a 4.2.1 ROM. Those, while some are stable for crack flashers and tweakers, are still WIPs. Play with the ability you have now -> Root. Contrary to some, Rooting does not mean flashing. there are several things you can do with Root that don't rely on flashing a new ROM or Kernel or Modem. Btw, DocHoliday has a modem thread where you can flash different modems(basebands) to see what works for your tower. There is also a Google.maps attached too.
Second, "Best ROM" threads always turn into a pissing match. I think that you are getting some good info in this for now, but I am going to close it when I get back to my PC. For one, you will get moderately flamed for opening a "Best ROM" thread (I closed at least 3-5 of these a day across the site) but I am giving a reprieve for a bit (until 2:30PM est) because you are getting some good advice for now.

Ive been a fan of ROMs and customizing Android since I originally bought into the smartphone world, back in the days of Android 2.3. It originally started because not only was I already a fan of modern technology and loved to build computers and troubleshoot malfunctioning tech, but because back in the days of Android 2, ICE, and so on, there was a reason for ROMs. They added so many features to such restricted systems that did not have very many features and were prone to freezing issues due to the chip technology not allowing for fast enough CPUs to support such demanding systems, but now that my T-Mobile Note 3 SM-900T and everyone elses all have official Lollipop firmware, its hard to see why I have such a hard time finding a ROM that I like, but I will tell you why, its simple. The reason being is that I like the stock system so much more than any of the ROMs currently out there, unless... there was something I missed...
TO ALL DEVS, THIS IS WHAT I FEEL ALOT OF PEOPLE WOULD LIKE OUT OF A ROM FOR THE SM-900T. I AM NOT A DEVELOPER, I HAVE NOT A CLUE HOW TO DEV, NOR DO I HAVE THE TOOLS, THEREFORE YOU CAN GLADLY TAKE MY IDEA FOR YOUR OWN!!!
As I said before, I believe the stock system is amazing, however the battery life and speed is terrible, so of course I began by experimenting with ROMs as per the ususal, well the Alliance ROM was pretty nice, the system was extremely fast and very stable, I liked it alot. However, alot of little details began to get on my nerves. First was the 1000+ options for custom coloring and customizing of the U.I. While more choice sounds like a good thing, you come to find that there are no defaults set up. My notifications kept coming up completely blanked out with no text whatsoever because the colors had to be set. Well, navigating the Alliance custom color settings was completely unfathomable and after days of experimenting, I came up with NO positive results. It also did not have the ability to skip songs from the lockscreen via lockscreen notification, which became a real pain real fast. Having to enter your 6-digit pin while doing 60+ MPH on your way to work just to skip a song isn't fun. Eventually, Alliance had to go. The other ROM I have recently tried is the DomPop TekHD edition (since its the one based on the official lollipop firmware). At first, things looked very promising, then it bricked my phone. After following the Dev's "Failsafe/Bulletproof" installation instructions, I finally got the ROM to function, but I found that the flashing of the stock kernel on top of the custom ROM did limit its features. The ViperFX custom equalizer does not work whatsoever, google play music FC's all the time, and the phone freezes up quite often.
After my frustrations trying to use these ROMS, I came to a startling conclustion: The Stock firmware is just better! And this is what gave me the idea, because despite it being stock it comes with all the features available to modern smartphones, its pretty fast, its stable, and it never fails, so why not create a COMPLETELY STOCK ROM but with some bloatware removed, and have it tweaked to provide better battery life and performance? Honestly, the stock features are better anyways. The ONLY issue that I can find with the stock firmware is that battery life is terrible (under 8 hours on WiFi wtf????), and the system could use a little optimizing combined with a bit of overclocking (Id say 2.5 GHz is plenty). For example, my car stereo sounds so much better off the stock built-in Samsung equalizer than any profile I was ever able to make using ViperFX.
Devs, if you were to create this simple and yet amazing ROM, I; and many others would greatly appreciate it! Yes I am aware that there are some stock ROMS available for the SM-900T. HOWEVER; there aren't any that are compatible with the OFFICIAL LOLLIPOP BASEBAND/FIRMWARE AND THIS IS WHAT WE NEED!
So you tried 2 ROMs, and now all ROMs suck unless they are what your idea of a ROM should be? Lol
Seriously.... I can't even.

Oh look here at mister moron trying to assume things. No idiot, thats not all Ive tried. Those are just examples. Ive literally tried every single ROM available on XDA for the SM-900T running the Lollipop Baseband, and MOST from back when we were still all on KitKat. If I were to give an accurate estimate, I would say Ive installed about 15-20 different ROMs on my phone. The KitKat ones were great! But now it seems like every single Lollipop-based ROM just has so many issues that its not worth running.
So yea dont even sit here and point the finger at me like Im the one with the issue, maybe next time you oughta think before you speak.
By the way, I wasnt saying all ROMs suck, cause they dont. Its just these days, the stock firmware is actually better

Yeah because we know that without you saying it.
Also, No need for name calling.
But since you went there, Yeah, I went back through your post history. Seems you don't know actually what you're doing, so, I'll just leave it at that.

Stock rooted+Xposed is what all the cool kids are doing now. Roms are a bit redundant/unecessary if you can shove enough extra functionality into stock and be more stable/efficient at the same time.
Also you post like a teenager with daddy issues, might want to use full words like a big boy.

Anyways, too busy to deal with the likes of you or anyone in this stupid forum if thats how all of you act, I'll just use a rival site for all my needs. This, XDA, is how you loose a customer, peace.

Since when does anyone care whatsoever about how someone types on a forum? Is this really what your life revolves around, peoples online spelling, really? Thats what is so damn important? If that is what you are truly concerned about, go get some help, like now. Ya no, see Im 23 years old, out here livin' life, enjoying it (So far at least), and makin' money, which is why come September Im gonna be one of the first and only people I even know to walk out of a T-Mobile store with a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 paid up front, in cash . You really think Im concerned with what anyone has to say on some two-bit forum site, especially when I know you are only backing this other stupid guy because hes a higher "rank" than me? Wow, you people are truly pathetic, wasteful, miserable excuses for human beings. Im pretty sure the world would have been a much better place had neither one of you two been born. and its really funny how me and the guys are just sitting here with a couple beers and joints, just laughing our asses off as you all get trolled by the boss. Hahahahaha screw this site and everyone on it. I was polite and nice for years on here and this is the thanks I get? A bunch of ridicule for having an opinion? Wow, I think all of you need to move to Colorado where Im at and learn to chill the hell out. Now Im busy, bouts to go get some action, peace!

Huh? Hack someone? No no no, I dont hack people. I have no desire to be mean to anyone, I have more respect for people than that. He started this ridiculous quarrel, and I ended it, with facts. Pretty easy to get people to back off when they themselves know they are causing issues for no reason whatsoever other than they literally want to pick fights. Which by the way, seems pretty stupid to do over the internet lol. Pretty immature, too. Im sure a moderator got him or something along those lines.
