I have the HTC One V on the Virgin Mobile (US Carrier) $35 monthly plan. On the account page online I see "Anytime Minutes" & "Frequently Asked Questions" both showing XX / 300 Minutes.
I looked on Virgin Mobiles frequently asked questions but could not find anything. Could anyone tell me when Voice Minutes are used ? Thanks, I know this might be a silly question.

So far when I make a call it uses Anytime Minutes not Voice Minutes. Here is couple small clip's which shows what I mean and asking.
I can safely guess that it is the same thing did you previously have a pay lo plan on a different phone? It could be a glitch. However you have 300 talking minutes because thats what your paying for.

If I helped you don't say thanks, click it!!

The only prepay phone I have is the HTC One V which is on the 300 minutes plan. When I first login to the online account page I see how how many anytime minutes I used. When I click on the "// View All Account History" that's where it shows the voice minutes .
This is the first time I used a Virgin Mobile phone so it's mostly a curiosity. I did try looking on there website and try to find the answer but found nothing. Guess I could call them up and ask the question what it is or if it's just a bug.
{EDIT}
Well the curiosity killed the cat so I called Virgin Mobile to ask them about it. They told me just go by the anytime minutes used on the account it's the correct one. But they did say both anytime minutes & voice minutes is the same thing. When I asked then why does the voice minutes shows zero minutes used. He had to go look for him self and told me it's a system error.

Hi, I got an HTC Desire for my 21st birthday from my (awesome) family. They bought it unlocked off ebay. It was previously Orange-locked, and contains their logo branding on the back case.
When I first put my 3/4 year-old Vodaphone sim from my old Sony Ericsson P990i in it, it said the SIM card wouldn't allow a connection to the Vodaphone network (this was using both automatic and manual network selection). I looked up on the internet, and read somewhere that it was the age of the SIM meant it wasn't compatible with a 3G phone. Alright, I thought.
So I ordered a brand new pay-as-you-go Orange sim (Dolphin) off the Orange website. Stuck it in my phone, and it threw the same error back at me: "Your SIM does not allow a connection to this network". I tried it in my P990i just in case, and it seemed to work perfectly fine. Turns out I didn't want to be with Orange anyway, so I ordered TWO new 3 SIMs.
Now this is where I am today. Neither of those SIMs work in this phone either. I want to stay with 3 so I can switch my number over and get £10, along with the extra data and texts. Unfortunately, it gave me the same error. I spent all day today rooting my phone and installing the latest radio (from here showthread.php?t=687464) -- 32.42.00.32U_5.09.00.08 -- and still no luck. I have the cyanogen mod installed also, but even on the stock HTC ROM it was giving me the errors. I've got a little further, and it's now also giving me an error "Unable to connect to this network at this time. Please try again later." which I've googled, to no avail.
With the CyanogenMod-6.0.0 RC1, according to the network strength indicator I get full bars (that fluctuate). Which network these are signifying I have no idea, since it's not letting me connect to anything.
I've got to the point where I've had years shaved off my life. My hair is now grey and falling out in clumps, and I swear I'm now sterile. Any help would be appreciated before I brick this phone, and not in the usual way.
As its an ebay purchase, it COULD be an insurance jobby and now reported stolen so the imei blacklisted.
Check it HERE
Damn socktug, thanks. I just filed the report and it came back that "this item has been blocked during its lifetime by one or more UK networks", and that "This item is currently blocked on one or more networks. It may still work on some networks." It wasn't listed as stolen or anything though.
I wonder how I can get my money back now. I don't deal with e-bay often (at all) for this very reason. Sigh.
Thanks for your help socktug! hopefully I can get a replacement device/my money back and get a Desire that actually works.

What a bummer, sorry to hear that. Sellers like that need to have their knees done!
You will need to open a dispute via paypal. I'd also contact the police with a print out of the listing and your check mend report.

Well luckily, I called Orange (the original retailer) and they unlocked the IMEI straight away for me. Took about 5 minutes to get all the networks, and now I'm just setting up my 3 account.
thanks for your help sock. Without it, I probably would have gone mental.

Nice one, glad you got it sorted.
If you decide to have a film made of this, then I'll be happy to have Russel Crowe play my role, lmao.

Hey Dekstar,
When u called Orange, what explanation did they have for the IMEI lock? Iv'e never experienced an IMEI lock in Denmark, except with stolen phones, and in some cases where companys bhought a lot of phones, and didnt pay...

I think it was something to do with a £10 debt or something from the previous owner, but I just said I got it second-hand, and they unlocked it.
Want to know how to unlock my i9000m currently locked to Bell Network (canada).
If anyone has experience with any of the sim card hacks (turbosim, etc) please post your feedback/experience so that it can be determined what the best simcard to use until the unlock code fix (software hack) is out which may potentially take upto a few months.....
Thanks.
Search. This info is all over here and hofo.
In short, none. No hacks have been released. No codes can be had unless its right from bell. The turbo sims are spotty and unreliable at best.

Because this information is spread all over the place, I am starting this thread to consolidate this info as many have been asking this question in various other threads.
As I already stated, there is no code out YET for the Bell SGS. so during that time, sim hacks can be used in the interim, and yes some are unreliable, and that is what I am meaning to get at, the performance of various sims...wish you could have responded with something that I am actually asking for, than just repeating what I already said.
I did. You ask for feedback on sim hacks. I gave you some. They all suck. I have used a few and they all failed but one. The one stopped working after 45 seconds.
Can you please provide the names of the ones that didnt work so that ppl dont go buying those?
And what happens with the turbo sim that it is unreliable?
I dig them up when i get home. When i say unreliable i mean they work then stop working. I have not read one instance where someone is using one on a continuing basis. But ill post the names of the ones i tried later.
as far as i know the ismartsim or isim for sort, are the best ones out there
the turbo sim kind will not work

Ive seen different types of ismartsims floating around, there is the orange one, and then a black one.....are they any different? Perhaps one works better than the other?
I had the gold ones. I am not sure if there is a difference or not as i didnt try any black.
can you ask leegoon84 if it was the gold one or the black one?
you know you can PM him directly

As long as 3G works and outgoing calls work, Im not too picky on incoming calls....at least its better than having nothing.
Would you mind sharing what network you used....rogers?

I was at the Bell store yesterday. They indicated that there was no wait period. Bell techs would unlock for a charge. I also had another rep from a cell store confirm this. I am curious if this is the truth as I have not heard a single actually confirmation from a customer on the threads.
I just got back from the sprint store and they said to port my number from my tmobile prepaid account to my EVO would take up to a week, during which time I would be unable to use my phone! Has anybody done this before?
The rep also said I have to turn my phone off and leave it off. What would happen if I were to turn it on before the process is complete?
The guy is an idiot. Port the number and then call the porting department and they can push it to complete that same day. I ported 3 numbers on June 4th from at&t. I happen to work for them also so I know it can be pushed because I've done it multiple times.

Oh I do use it, I just wish they'd have let me port my old number in. Also, I've started using MMS finally, and it's not available through GV yet
I, too, think the rep was full of crap. Yesterday evening I received a call (on the line he said should remain turned off) from Sprint about porting the number, and it was done in 30 minutes from the time I hung up.
Oh well, the ordeal is finally over!
It says on the Metro PCS website that the EVO is METROFlash capable for talk/text. I called stores in my area and all of them said they can not flash an HTC EVO. When I asked why they flashed my Eris, but can't flash an EVO they said its too difficult. I have a Droid Eris on Metro now (they METROFlashed) with internet/mms/apps working (followed guide at howard forums). I've read some guides for enabling internet, etc. on the EVO and it appears the same, but how can I flash talk/text for the EVO on Metro? (Excluding craigslist and eBay)
search in the forums there is a thread..
I did first before posting this, but could only find internet threads. I'll search again.

You have to get it MetroFLASHED...
I did the same, only found 1 store who could. It's only the Metro Corporate stores who usually will.
You need an ID and sign a waiver. It takes about 20 minutes to flash. Tell them they have to atleast try since it's supported by Houdini and listed on their website.

Those are both for internet, which I already know how to do. The first one specifically says you first need a flashed EVO to Metro, which is what I'm trying to learn.

Thanks! I have one near by, their number was listed as something like 888-5metro and when I called it, it was all automated. I kept saying AGENT to talk to a person but it kept saying "I think I can assist you quicker, but if I can't I'll get you an agent" then never got me an agent.
Hi all .. i had iphone 4s which i exchanged with someone via gumtree with one x. the phone was locked to three and was new. so i unlocked it today via unlocksaver.com
i entered the code they gave me and it searched for something then it said successful but when it restarted it is saying IMEI locked in the place where it shows carrier in notification tray. what does that mean? i dont understand is it blacklisted? or is it not unlocked properly? i noticed i tried to restart it 2 or three times and it did got a signal once then again it says imei locked
The only way a phone will get blocked is if the owner reports it being stolen/lost
You could be a victim of crime if bought on second hand market as the owner is probably doing insurance scam.
are u from denmark then post eng and danish
Not had the same issue but saw something in the forum. Try this:
Go to menu settings then power and untick fast boot. Restart phone and see what that does if it works tick fast boot back

Sometimes it just says no service but sometimes it says imei locked .. i am worried my phone has no signal does it has anything to do with that unlock code i purchased?
If the phone is blocked (the imei) from the carrier for being stolen or lost, your sim should work for like 5 minutes before it gets locked, this meens you can make phone calls or send sms in the first 5 minutes before it gets locked.it is how much time your phone needs to send the imei number to your carrier so they can check if it is ok or if it is been stolen/lost. You can go at this website http://www.amta.org.au/pages/amta/Check.the.Status.of.your.Handset and check the status of your imei, it is for Australia but try to find the service/website for your country.

My brand new sim free One X did this when I first tried to use it - called retailer to exchange it - they suggested a hard reset (keep power button held for 10 secs +) and that fixed the problem for me. Worth a try?

tbh if you have been stung by this person with a stolen handset i would return the favor and report the iphone stolen, but dont do it until you have comfermed that he has done this.
sounds like the typical insurance scam to me.

thanks for replies people... i did manged to get in contact with that person and realy tried to help me alot but the wiered thing is when i got home and tried to turn on phone after 12 hours or soething the phone was working and i felt embarresed taht i bloked iphone and that guy had no intention of that but there was realy something wrong with my phone. its fine now :/
My One X had the exact same problem, took it back to the store i got it from and they changed it for a new one which worked fine.
Seems it may be a problem with the phone rather than a dodgy seller as mine came from Carphone Warehouse
What a cruel joke...after a week I get mine from expansys and I am getting IMEI locked contact customer care!!!! Aghhhh...
Please tell me there is another solution to resolve this aside from RMA and more waiting?
Damn...
Moderator Information,
I have closed this thread as we do not allow the discussion of changing or editing IMEI numbers. I am afraid the best thing you can do is try to find the person who sold you the phone and report the issue to them.
Many thanks,
Stephen
