Well I rooted my htc wildfire and overclocked it.
Everything seemed to work fine for a few months
and then...
I got a text message, and I responded to it, but I did also see that my battery was almost empty, then after responding, I putted my phone in my pocket, Then like 15 minutes later, I looked at my phone and it didn't do anything anymore, so I thought, my battery ran out, nothing to worry about then I got home, plugged in my phone... led didn't turn on... phone didn't charge. I was like damn, maybe my battery died? So I went outside to someone who also has a Wildfire and asked if I could try his battery, We switched batteries and my phone still didn't work
Does anyone know how i can fix this? my phone doesn't respond to ANYTHING I've tried
These symptoms are a bad omen.
Does it pick anything up plugging it into a computer?

Than that would be the first wildfire thats been bricked AFAIK
Maybe it's a hardware issue, something as motherboard or CPU or maybe the connector for the lcd screen has become loose
EDIT: Did your phoneshowany sign of intability before you put it in your pocket; was it hot?

lol, how can it be bricked if I used the root for a few months and didn't change anything to it for a while?
also @lcd poster
if it was my lcd, my led should still turn on when inserting the phone to a power connection
also I do also think it is something with my mainboard/cpu, i've read on the internet that i'm not the only one with a phone that just doesn't respond to anything anymore (wildfire) even others who hadn't rooted their phone got this issue, although they have garrantuee :s
sorry for my bad english
Anyhow its great u r not bricked bt if u have damaged CPU so do u have warranty/guarantee?

Rooted and overclocked, I don't think my warranty is still valid?
Yes your warranty is void. But, if you were on a Stock / Sense based ROM, you *may* be lucky and the service guys may not notice.

But maybe they won't start repairing it and give me just a new one, (since it's more expensive to repair the phone then to give me a new one i guess) and then they'll won't notice either?
also, if I do bring back my phone and they find out about it, will they charge me for the repairing costs? even if I don't want it to be repaired if it will cost me? (I already bought an iphone now, but sometimes i just want to experiment back with my android xd)
I really can't answer that mate. Policies vary widely across stores and nations. But, don't hold your breath for a new one, I think that case is extremely unlikely. I guess your best bet is to give them the phone, and have them contact yo regarding it's situation, repairs, and costs (if any) after their preliminary inspection / assessment. Only after their assessment, you give the go ahead to repair / replace (If free ).

HTC and Apple don't roll the same way.
Apple's products aren't even worth repairing, thus they don't bother doing that.
it might be an lcd problem this thing also happened to me...
I know quite a few friends of mine who had similar issues with other HTC devices and they just went to the shop and they were given new ones in a short time. usually guys at the customer service are ignorant and don't check for anything, even if in your situation it should be impossbile to know which rom you're mounting.
my advice is go there and have a brand new wildfire, nobody will discover it's without warranty
Mabye its static?
Once my brothers netbook had a static build up causing a problem i dunno if the same rules apply but try: take out battery -> hold power on for around 30secs, If that didnt work try getting into bootloader holding vol down and power on when your phones off
Hope my ideas worked and that your wildfires better
I have same problems
When i trying root my HTC device ... there are something wrong... so it can't boot after rooting.
I think that it was bricked.
How to unbrick HTC Wildfire? Pls, help me resolv this problem
My friend have wildfire phone.
He can't able to charge his phone to 100%.
It stops at 70%.
He thought, its due to battery problem.
So he bought new official battery.
But same problem again.
He gave his phone to me to check.
I wiped the battery status on recovery.
But not solved.
I also charged the phone in off condition for more than 6 hrs.
But phone's led didn't change to green light(after completing charging).
Is it due to hardware problem?
Hello,
sorry for my bad English.
So since I have a mod Costum "CyanogenMod 7" on my Wildfire, it invites only to 70% and stays green but after a while it loads on the power on and it always takes something.
Maybe that's your problem and you need the Wildfire simply let the current times.
greeting
WolfSkin2K
But I does not show green even charging it for 16hrs

I have the same problem too, i used CM7 & froyo SENSE ROM i changed the Recovery but the same problem,
I'm pretty sure it's a motherboard fault, I can recall someone posting that they had sent a phone back to HTC with this problem and they said it was a fault with the mobo. It seems a lot of people are suffering from it and no fix has been found so sorry guys.

I have exacly same problem..
I have an DHD for more than two weeks. I bought it brand new, and it had the latest official firmware, radio and everything installed out of the box. The phone is great but from time to time it turns itself off, without any reason and once shut down it can not start again by pressing the power button, it needs to have the battery removed and than it can start normally.
I tried swithching the Power Saver off, but without any result, it still turns off randomly several times a week.
Somewhere i found some post where somebody was explaining that these problems are related to the poor quality off the materials used for the stock battery, and due to the mA drops the phone gets fooled that the battery is empty and it turns itself off, so my question is if could stop getting this issue if i get some new battery, obviously there are goods aftermarket ones.
Thank you in advnace for the help.
Not rooted? Use the warranty.

Then let them check it. Use the warranty. If it's a software issue you could try the factory reset - but if you aren't sure use the warranty.
Edit: just re-read your post. Use tge warranty. Don't spend extra money for something that ought to be working. Unless you had it shipped to you. But then again, they should pay for all those expenses as long as you follwed tehir guidelines.

I May have the same problem
Did you happen to get it fixed?
I think I have the same problem. My phone randomly shuts down and to restart it I have to take the battery cover off (but I don't need to battery pull) or else it won't start up again. And also the phone doesn't heat up.
At the moment I am waiting for a new battery to arrive
My hox is not charging or turning on .so i tried remove the battery and charge it using another phone and put back.it turned on but the full battery drained in an hour and its overheating too.
Can anyone help me with this problem.?

A little more info please?? Are you on stock? Custom rom?
Put the phone on wall charger for 5-6 hours and then try switching it on...

I am on stock.no root.locked bootloader.
Some one said it is due to a short in mainboard.
Another one said it is because of the faulty display or battery.
How to find out the real issue.?
Changing the board will cost around 16000 Indian rupees.that's not affordable for me .
I think you'll have to use your warranty.

I send it for warranty.but they said it is a physical damage .and it will cost rs.16000(us$300).I can't spent that much money.
But they won't tell what is the damage.

No other option mate.. Since you have opened up the device... They can easily figure that out by looking at the battery coil...
It's your device! Your gonna pay for it... They should tell you what's the fault!? Ask them again.

I called them for more than 6 times ,what they say is send it to them and they will repair it for 16000 rs and that's all.
Dear friends i can imagine that you see a lot of threads named like this but this one is different i tried everything from others and no luck i hope now you or more developers can see and develop a new solution for my problem...
Here is the case i get my phone from uk orange locked htc one x 32gb... and then i unlocked it and it was successfully unlocked. as i am htc fan i know all stuff of unlocking bootloader, hboot, custom rom etc.
When the phone get unlocked after that i installed ARHD rom without problems i used like 5 months and now last night suddenly screen flashed and rebooted and turn off ???? so weird ha? It has battery up to like 40%
NOW :
1. It is not charging also no light
2. Wont turn on
3. PC not recognize
4. I tried all of the combinations of buttons
5. I bought new battery and replaced (i have skills dont worry)
6. Also tried my friends battery charged up to full and then installed mine and again no luck
And no life sign...:crying::crying::crying:
Then what should we do, get it to a repair center/HTC and get it fixed. If it's not the battery then it's probably a bootloader or a main board problem.
