Battery Problem - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My friend have wildfire phone.
He can't able to charge his phone to 100%.
It stops at 70%.
He thought, its due to battery problem.
So he bought new official battery.
But same problem again.
He gave his phone to me to check.
I wiped the battery status on recovery.
But not solved.
I also charged the phone in off condition for more than 6 hrs.
But phone's led didn't change to green light(after completing charging).
Is it due to hardware problem?

Hello,
sorry for my bad English.
So since I have a mod Costum "CyanogenMod 7" on my Wildfire, it invites only to 70% and stays green but after a while it loads on the power on and it always takes something.
Maybe that's your problem and you need the Wildfire simply let the current times.
greeting
WolfSkin2K

But I does not show green even charging it for 16hrs

I have the same problem too, i used CM7 & froyo SENSE ROM i changed the Recovery but the same problem,

I'm pretty sure it's a motherboard fault, I can recall someone posting that they had sent a phone back to HTC with this problem and they said it was a fault with the mobo. It seems a lot of people are suffering from it and no fix has been found so sorry guys.

it work for me when my battery was messed up, you can try flshing latest radio or do a full wipe and flash a rom.
You know that background services drain the battery very fast.
Also keep wifi/mobile data/ bluetooth on only when you use it.
Uninstall any odd-apps-that-require-data connection-and-run-into-background.
Furthermore, try a sense RoM ( the one from my sig for example ) and see how the device behaves then.
For now I cannot suggest more then basic stuff as I don't know exactly what is going on with your device.

Before trying a sense rom, format the phone. Then switch off and charge . Make sure to use a recovery without offmode charging bug. Wait till the red led turns green. Then enter recovery and wipe battery stats. Then unplug charger and switch on the phone. Hope it helps.
Edit: Another suggestion. You said your battery gets full charge in another wildfire. So make a full charge in another wildfire. Then insert the battery in your wildfire and go to recovery and wipe the battery stats. Then power on the phone and check.

Same with my wildfire too stuck on like 70 to 80 never goes 100%. Already tries sense Rom and all other Rom but still facing the issue. When i try to charge in off it stuck and need to take the battery out and than it gonna b start is it a bug of alpha x s off or recovery plz help out this battery issue.
Just read a thread by someone who is experiencing the very same thing on a Stock, Unrooted. S-ON Phone. So I guess it's unrelated to root or anything.

I got the same battery-stuck on stock, unrooted, s-on phone (froyo). Tried to do everything - root, clear battery stat, flash rom (sense, nonsense, stock), downgrade hboot to 0.80, new battery, charging when phone turned off - nothing. Battery keep not charging full and I saw green led a long time ago.
Follow this thread attentively.
It's not the bug of rooting buddy I thing some hardware fault becoz many people out who,s facing this issue before rooting like me i already all Rom but nothing can cure this problem so I revert back to s on and I gonna claim ma warrenty from HTC I they gonna fix it.

Do post an update on what they say. Seems that this issue is probably going to affect many (or some?) of the Wildfire's out there at some point or the other.

Why don't you take it to a repair shop? Even if you don't give it for repairs, atleast it can possibly help identify the issue?

Something strange happens

Hello guys
Something strange happens today.I had to reboot my dhd then vibrates 3 times I removed the battery I left without halph a hour
I plug the battery and the dhd is alive. Is second time happens maybe I have to ruu it and send it to htc for service? May have hardware failure?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using Tapatalk
are you using a custom rom, sounds like your rom might be corrupted try reflashing another rom see if it helps.
If it's not a custom ROM issue then you definitely should take it to repairs...this issue sounds familiar to me, my regular Desire had a faulty mainboard and these were the symptoms before it died completely...then I switched to the Desire HD

The phone is randomly turning off

I have an DHD for more than two weeks. I bought it brand new, and it had the latest official firmware, radio and everything installed out of the box. The phone is great but from time to time it turns itself off, without any reason and once shut down it can not start again by pressing the power button, it needs to have the battery removed and than it can start normally.
I tried swithching the Power Saver off, but without any result, it still turns off randomly several times a week.
Somewhere i found some post where somebody was explaining that these problems are related to the poor quality off the materials used for the stock battery, and due to the mA drops the phone gets fooled that the battery is empty and it turns itself off, so my question is if could stop getting this issue if i get some new battery, obviously there are goods aftermarket ones.
Thank you in advnace for the help.
Not rooted? Use the warranty.

Then let them check it. Use the warranty. If it's a software issue you could try the factory reset - but if you aren't sure use the warranty.
Edit: just re-read your post. Use tge warranty. Don't spend extra money for something that ought to be working. Unless you had it shipped to you. But then again, they should pay for all those expenses as long as you follwed tehir guidelines.

I May have the same problem
Did you happen to get it fixed?
I think I have the same problem. My phone randomly shuts down and to restart it I have to take the battery cover off (but I don't need to battery pull) or else it won't start up again. And also the phone doesn't heat up.
At the moment I am waiting for a new battery to arrive

1) Could be your hardware problem depending on the display (a new display costs ~100€ for me - very very expensive )
I can't help you with it.
2) How much did you overclocked your phone? May clearing everything and wiping helps? Are you using the stock CM kernel?
3/4) Seems your battery really didn't work right you should buy a new. The official one cost's about ~5$ on amazon so it will cost you sth around 270 rupees if im not mistaken
If you buy a new battery you may will still stuck on 80% while loading the phone, that's a known issue on the wildfire if u look in some other Q&A forums you'll see a lot of guys who have this problem too
Battery % issue is with me too. It never gets above 82%. Also i have very unpredictable decline in battery.

Have you wiped your battery stats after leaving the phone on to charge over night?
Also, op have you still got your warrenty? If so I would send it back as at the very least your touch screen sounds defective.

The ops problems sound more like a hardware failure to me, faulty touchscreen and possibly something wrong with the motherboard for the battery fault.

Battery help please (battery stats?)

So just fixed up my Wildfire for my daughter and brought a brand new battery, plugged in and left to charge all night. In the morningiI checked the charged and was only 60% odd. I messed with the battery stats ages ago and was never the same. It is rooted and running cyanogenmod 7.1.1
Can someone please help help to get the phone working how it once was. I would be so grateful as it is for my daughte .
Thank you all xjtaggedx
Its a problem with htc wildfire. My battery never gets above 45% and at times it doesnot even exceeds 32%.
Changing battery has not worked for anyone. Its a hardware fault in htc wildfire. All most everyone on this forum experiences this problem.

really? oh man i just spent like £30 refurbing it lol, so nothing i can do? ans thank you very much for the reply
Yeah, feeling sorry for you. Some people suggest calliberating battery and wipe battery stats in recovery but this has never worked for me.

I have this issue too, the second. When i had the wildfire, my phone acted just like this, it didn't let me do phone calls, internet, photos, etc, all i was doing killed my phone. i sent it in warranty, first they thought the issue was the software, because i rooted the phone, s-off it, and installed a custom rom. I reverted the gbootloader to the original s-off one, ran the appropriate Ruu, and warranty only made a software update, but the issue still existed, so i sent it in warranty for the second time, and they changed my battery, i don't know what else they did, so the phone turned back to normal. After that, i S-off it , rooted and installed CWM and RemPuzzle Rom, and worked well for the past year, but this days, my sister that has that wildfire i gifted to her, told me that has the same issue like i had about one year ago before changing the battery.
So i assume that is a battery related issue, because not even clearing battery stats resolve it, not to talk about Ruu. So my advice is to change the battery and see if the problem is fixed.
If the phone is still under warranty, run an appropriate Ruu, S-on again and downgrade the hboot to the original one, and send it in warranty
