Hi guys!
This is the kernel 3.4.XX for our device.
I've compiled it from erik96,merged with arco's and hadidjapri's,sources.
It's on alpha stage/not completely optimized for android, yet. It's yet Linux like.

Swap-in readahead skips over holes
Netfilter enhancement
Crypto - sha224 and sha384 routines
Some minor file system changes
Networking enhancements (networking speed is a bit better)
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface S4 sleep state - this would result in ability of guest VMs to hibernate on Xen
Larger physical address extension on the ARM architecture
Some battery improvements, battery life seems to be better
Lots of open source graphic DRM changes
Intel Sandy Bridge performance improvements (only on PC's)
Btrfs improvements
Improved Power Management
New Power Management Phases
Governors taken from PhenomKernel
I/O Schedulers from PhenomKernel
Compiled with Linaro 4.7.3 Toolchain.

Hey guys! I'm gald to see that my project is ported to Galaxy W. :good: Great job devs .
But what's wrong about WiFi?
@OP, did you pushed the dhd.ko module compiled during the compilation process into the RAMDISK at /lib/modules? If not, this is the problem... it can be fixed in 3 minutes .
Also, I'll update to CAF maybe next week or so, so you guys can try use those sources too :highfive:
I hope the WiFi problem will get fixed.
Regards,
Erik

Hi!
This is topic about true Jelly Bean development for Gio. Please keep it clean and don't post if you are not developer!
What we need to get Jelly Bean working:
- AOSP sources
- Dalvik patches for ARMv6
- Qualcomm display HAL's for JB
Team:
Me and Macław
Now I'm working at basic ARMv6 build of Jelly Bean based on "armv7-a" device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762641
@up - It's not possible to make ARMv6 build on clean AOSP. And the tutorial? This guy have just copied it from source.android.com
BTW. Jelly Bean is made only for ARMv7, there are alot of assembler code in: debuggerd, valgrind, libaac... I need to fix it for ARMv6

okay then i know that i trought maybe you can do something with it!
must be working with cm9 libs ...
the most libs are also included in jb.
the only thing are the most framework based parts ...
and some libs that can be only built from source .... like audio
the kernel changes ... u got adb working?
from which device u ported?

Hi, thanks. Good luck!
It's GalaxyICS - now would be GalaxyJB . Or just you 2? What about bagnz0r?
If this is spam i don't mind to delete it.
Greetings,
Hmm, there are changes in dalvik VM, but i'm doing diffs now and there isin't changed much.
Most code for ICS dalvik can be reused, so porting dalvik to armv6 shouldn't be a big problem.
This one would be rather impossible: Qualcomm display HAL's for JB
But are there changes in the JB HAL, i thought there wouldn't be changes in the deep architecture?
I hope the best for you all devs!, don't have much time to help.
Still compiling...
I think that out ICS gralloc won't work on JB...
i never see the source.. but only dalvik need to be patched? what about webkit, v8, webrtc like in ICS?
Only dalvik and a lot of libs with ARMv7 assembler code... Like libcompiler-rt, aac, valgrind, debuggerd...
WebKita and V8 don't need to be patched
EDIT: READY! It compiled without problems
Now I just have to made gralloc from CAF and try it!

If i flash the covenant kernel and the "lights.n1.so" from the dman's 17th dec CM10 build, the BLN works fine. Try flashing the attached and you'll see the BLN works fine but the keyborad and capacitive lights break.
I can confirm Pacman 18.2 with covenant v3, this fix works !! Awesome to have my keyboard backlit, thanks guys!!
Hmm.. maybe I should manually put in the keyboard mapping fix now...
which one should I download for cm10? and where do I find the "arrrays.xml"?
Confirmed working as well on PACman v 18.2, running Covenant Kernel v.3 via flash through CWM.

Does it make sense to package this with the keyboard mapping fix as well ? .. I don't really want to change ROMs again..
Question 2 .. would this mean I wouldn't need to apply covenant kernel to unofficial cm10 or pacman to have the lights work ?

Following the popular RM KERNEL series in .32 I present you the new .35 RM KERNEL for cm7 and other gingerbread devices.
RM is a modified KERNEL. It has many modifications implement. This makes your phone FASTER and BETTER
This is (at the moment) only for gingerbread roms. cm9, 10, and 10.1 support will be added at a later date
latest download link
Instructions
Download the kernel
get it to your phone however you like
flash it using any recovery (the zip isn't signed)
reboot system
test it
Problems?
Unstable.
Phone hangs if allowed to go into deep sleep mode. This can range from screen going off for a few seconds, sd card being unmounted, and full reboot
Be warned, my phone told me I had to format sdcard, but reboot fixed this.
I'm putting this here, but there is rumour that sometimes the screen goes black and the touch stops working.. Perhaps they turned the screen off. I don't know
please report all bugs here
Please provide a logcat
Code:
adb logcat
and a kmsg
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/kmsg
If you get a kernel panic then please send the last_kmsg file
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/last_kmsg > last_kmsg
Don't just type them into the forums, send them as a file...
Thankyou
I would like to thank:
Ron - for the fantastic work he has to put into the base of this kernel
The Cyanogenmod team - for the base of this kernle
The CAF team - again, for the base of this kernel
Pax0r - 1st set up of the .35 kernel for p350
Kernel Source Code : https://github.com/PecanCM/lge-kernel-pecan/tree/android-msm-2.6.35
If you find any problems, then post in the thread
Don't forget to say thanks
Features
This kernel has lots of backports from the 3.x kernels, including
KGSL 3.8 (extra graphical performance)
GPU overclocked (pretty obvious)
binder from 3.0
calibrate from 3.0
CPU overclock
Genlock (better image quality in videos)
CPU Idle from 3.2 (better cpu management)
CPU Freq from 3.0 (Better cpu management)
Memory Manager from 3.0 (more memory)
backported some things from msm_camera in 3.0 (better pic quality)
add ext4 support
and much more which can be found in kernel source commits
I don't want people to think that I did all this. Most of it was Ron
I only made this kernel stable for Gingerbread by fixing camera and wifi
ChangeLog
V1.0.0
Initial release
Wifi fixed
Ext4 added
Camera fixed
All the other features included in this kernel can be found in the kernel source commits

Bugs :
Lockscreen touch
Gesendet von meinem LG-P350 mit Tapatalk 2
thanks so much.
When I try to unlock the phone, the touch does not always respond.
I have to lock and (try to) unlock a few times til the touch works.
Here's logcat.
(I don't know if I did it alright, please tell me if not)
Thanks!

Hmmm... I don't have problem with lockscreen on Ron Nightly and Unofficialls ROM (use this kernel for Unofficials, it's great), but on Oxygen ROM when first reboot my phone is blank, just green... 2 times re-flashing ans it's same...
If you have wifi on, then this rom is perfect. However, wifi off, sd crashes, everything crashes, phone can reboot or hang in some cases

Hello People
Since long time I have seen many people struggling and requesting someone to share GREAT devil kernel.
*****And here I came**** So I requested DerTeufel1980 and luckily he accepted to share the kernel
without compiling from source i.e. by extracting from his supersonic HellyBean ROM.
That is enough talk
How to install
1-Make sure you run JB 4.2 with stock CM partitioning.
2-Reboot into recovery.
3-Choose kernel zip and flash.
4-For better performance wipe cache & dalvik cache.
N.B. I don't make any modifications to the kernel, I just extract the kernel and share it.
Kernel Source : https://github.com/DerTeufel/samsung-kernel-aries
Features
1. Linux Kernel 3.0.83
2. Normal OC Support ( 1200 , 1300 and 1400MHz steps )

4. Voltage Control support
5. ZRAM Support
6. SWAP Support
7. KSM Support

Will upload a new version tonight with devil tools already included in system/app
Edit : no it will be better if I included it in data/app so that you're free to delete it or keep
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
Better as /data/app I think too cause you know there's that issue with NsTools that sometimes needs a fix perms to give access to governors settings.. Well the fastest way to fix perms on DevilTools is to use fix permissions apps from market and apply fix perms on it only but the app won't see DevilTools if installed as system/app.
It's about the same but will just spare a reboot to recovery, check that system is mounted, fix permissions,wait....or use RomManager which with the fix perms process will be little long too.
Why not do the whole fix perms by using RomManager or going to recovery, Mount all partitions and apply while we're on it but as it's not mandatory better have choice.
Can we also report bug's ?

Requires unlocked bootloader.
Requires Sony's .681 KitKat ROM or ones based on it.
Minimal features will be added to this kernel. I'm not interested in OC or other tweaks I won't use.
Features:
Double tap to wake
Faux123's GPL Sound Control 3
Philz recovery
RIC disabled on boot
You may use @Androguide.fr's excellent Pimp my Z1 app to configure sound options.
Download:
http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/Android/XperiaZ1/CTSKernel/latest
Installation:
Either flash the zip in a recovery, or fastboot flash boot boot.img
Sources:
https://github.com/MohammadAG/android_kernel_sony_msm8974
Thanks to:
Faux123 for his sound control module
Androguide.fr for Pimp my Z1
DooMLoRD for his ramdisk, I couldn't get the stock one working for some reason.

Stock, please don't quote the whole post
Are there any added governors or just stock ones?
Second link leads to the same as first boot.img

Stock, anything not mentioned in OP doesn't exist.
Fixed the link, sorry. DevDB messes links up.
Thank you!
It became One tap to wake when Z1 boots but after a while DT2W works fine.
Is this CTS kernel's bug?
Here is the bugreport:

[EDIT]
1.1 solved!
Thank you so much!

Double tap to wake
not seem to work properly
buggy
touchscreen unresponsive while charging......
plugging the phone when screen off and trying to double tap to unlock produces the issue,,,
Does this support using external recovery on FOTAKernel partition?

1.1 out:
Raised delay to 700, 400 was a bit too low
Double tap to wake responds to one finger, previously, one tap with two fingers would wake up the screen
After boot, tapping the screen would lock the device, fixed
Timeout is correctly reset when screen is turned off
This should fix all issues with double tap to wake

Charging isn't changed, if you have issues with the touchscreen while charging, I'd say it's a ground issue or a hardware one.
And in any case, I test the kernel with the charger plugged in.

No idea what that is, got any links?
If advanced stock kernel supports it, this does.

Thanks bro :good:
you gave me a reason to unlock the bootloader, like, now! :victory::highfive:
Awesome, thanks for the dt2wake port, all my previous attempts were unsuccessful :good:
So, this is exactly the same way Sony would have coded Tap2wake if they included it?

I tried to port the Nexus 5 one a few months ago, and that didn't work either. I had to do it with custom code in the touch up event
I'm trying to add it into Pimp my Z1, I've already opened an issue for you on Github that's either your mistake or my Gradle understanding, or lack thereof.

- The touch sensor runs in LPM doze mode, so it doesn't guzzle battery.
- It's double tap to unlock
Checks out
How can I make it work even when screen has been disabled for a while? For me it only works a few seconds after screen of.
Great work!

Thanks man, I've just finished cherry-picking your tap 2 wake commits in my kernel, I'll add dt2wake control to Pimp My Z1 in a few minutes.
I am with 681 and unlock bootloader . I have install the kernel , but don`t work tap to wake for me ? Why ?
Appreciate the effort Mohammad, it works well so far.
Edit: I spoke too soon. It doesn't work sometimes, especially after some time following the lock. But it's there and obviously will work after some revisions.
