Requires unlocked bootloader.
Requires Sony's .681 KitKat ROM or ones based on it.
Minimal features will be added to this kernel. I'm not interested in OC or other tweaks I won't use.
Features:
Double tap to wake
Faux123's GPL Sound Control 3
Philz recovery
RIC disabled on boot
You may use @Androguide.fr's excellent Pimp my Z1 app to configure sound options.
Download:
http://mohammadag.xceleo.org/public/Android/XperiaZ1/CTSKernel/latest
Installation:
Either flash the zip in a recovery, or fastboot flash boot boot.img
Sources:

Thanks to:
Faux123 for his sound control module
Androguide.fr for Pimp my Z1
DooMLoRD for his ramdisk, I couldn't get the stock one working for some reason.

Stock, anything not mentioned in OP doesn't exist.
Fixed the link, sorry. DevDB messes links up.
Thank you!
It became One tap to wake when Z1 boots but after a while DT2W works fine.
Is this CTS kernel's bug?
Here is the bugreport:

Double tap to wake
not seem to work properly
buggy
touchscreen unresponsive while charging......
plugging the phone when screen off and trying to double tap to unlock produces the issue,,,
Does this support using external recovery on FOTAKernel partition?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
1.1 out:
Raised delay to 700, 400 was a bit too low
Double tap to wake responds to one finger, previously, one tap with two fingers would wake up the screen
After boot, tapping the screen would lock the device, fixed
Timeout is correctly reset when screen is turned off
This should fix all issues with double tap to wake

Charging isn't changed, if you have issues with the touchscreen while charging, I'd say it's a ground issue or a hardware one.
And in any case, I test the kernel with the charger plugged in.

No idea what that is, got any links?
If advanced stock kernel supports it, this does.

Thanks bro :good:
you gave me a reason to unlock the bootloader, like, now! :victory::highfive:
Awesome, thanks for the dt2wake port, all my previous attempts were unsuccessful :good:
So, this is exactly the same way Sony would have coded Tap2wake if they included it?

I tried to port the Nexus 5 one a few months ago, and that didn't work either. I had to do it with custom code in the touch up event
I'm trying to add it into Pimp my Z1, I've already opened an issue for you on Github that's either your mistake or my Gradle understanding, or lack thereof.

- The touch sensor runs in LPM doze mode, so it doesn't guzzle battery.
- It's double tap to unlock
Checks out
How can I make it work even when screen has been disabled for a while? For me it only works a few seconds after screen of.
Great work!

Thanks man, I've just finished cherry-picking your tap 2 wake commits in my kernel, I'll add dt2wake control to Pimp My Z1 in a few minutes.
I am with 681 and unlock bootloader . I have install the kernel , but don`t work tap to wake for me ? Why ?
Appreciate the effort Mohammad, it works well so far.
Edit: I spoke too soon. It doesn't work sometimes, especially after some time following the lock. But it's there and obviously will work after some revisions.

Hey guys! I'm gald to see that my project is ported to Galaxy W. :good: Great job devs .
But what's wrong about WiFi?
@OP, did you pushed the dhd.ko module compiled during the compilation process into the RAMDISK at /lib/modules? If not, this is the problem... it can be fixed in 3 minutes .
Also, I'll update to CAF maybe next week or so, so you guys can try use those sources too :highfive:
I hope the WiFi problem will get fixed.
Regards,
Erik
Recently i've been reading a lot abt. s2w on DHD. I just wanna know how it works. I believe by s2w it means swipe your fingure from home button to search button to wake the device up. I've flashed the HD-Kernel T7 (sense kernel) but it doesnt seem to work or maybe i'm not doing it right. I edited the script as well & "tap to wake" stared working but its not what I needed. Any help would be nice :fingers-crossed:

Oh...u forgot to download kernel tuner from market my friend...
Download kernel tuner , go to misc option and at the bottom check s2w option..
Then its done...
Sent from my DHD using Niks project X Rebirth...
Just be aware that activating S2W will result in a couple of things:
1. You will use more battery
2. If you restart your phone you usually need to reactivate S2W
I just use Sweep2Wake enabler/disabler from Google Play and it needs to reenable S2W after every restart not sure about kernel tuner.
Which touchcreen manufacturer do you have? Synaptics is known to have an issue with Sweep2Wake, you'll have to check which manufacturer you have (instructions are in the T7 thread I believe)
READ THIS ENTIRE POST PLEASE
PLEASE PROCEED TO USE THE 4.3 VERSION LOCATED Android 4.3 JWR66V
UPDATED ROM IS MUCH MORE STABLE AND BATTERY LIFE IS GREAT.
Thanks to everyone for testing/using this one until now
This ROM comes from I9505 variant.
Luckily the only thing you will need to do is apply Loki patch if you require it for other ROMS.
If you are a CAN variant you can simply install the ROM with no other issues or steps.
IMPORTANT
User reports suggest that battery life is much better as well as working google wallet in the odex version, root should work for both.
Google Play 4.1.10 : Please manually update Google Play to prevent gps/maps battery drain, download apk and install as usual
There are two FactoryKeystring.apk's included and actively used by Android System, one is hidden and one is in System/app, removing one seems to improve battery life (must have root)
Do NOT change Dpi you will loose root and you will loose wifi. You have been warned.
WARNING
As always, i'm not responsible for your phone blowing up or bricking. Hell this is completely pre-release software that Google hasn't even published yet so you better be sure you're ready to take the plunge and accept that anything can happen and i assume no responsibility. this is all your choice.

WHATS DIFFERENT IN 4.3 FROM 4.2.2?
- Roboto font has been cleaned up see here
- "android.hardware.bluetooth_le" listed as a feature in the Android System Info app, suggesting Bluetooth Low Energy support is on-board in Android 4.3. This feature isn't listed on the Google edition GS4 review unit running Android 4.2.2
- Bluetooth tethering is present in the 4.3 ROM, while it's absent (bizarrely) in the 4.2.2-based GS4 GE unit.
- A new checkbox under Advanced Wifi settings allows Google's location service to scan for Wifi networks even when Wifi is turned off and not being used for wireless networking (likely part of Google's new approach to battery-friendly location services)
- Multiple options under "Monitoring > Profile GPU Rendering," as seen in this Google I/O video.
This lets you view a graphical representation of the time taken to generate a frame, and see whether you're hitting the 60 frames per second target or not. This should help devs create more buttery apps.
- New debug options for the new non-rectangular clipping feature. This is a new graphical capability for devs in Android API level 18.
- New option to "Use experimental WebView" (this likely changes the browsing engine used to handle websites within apps, but has yet to be confirmed.
- There is now a button that lets you "Revoke USB debugging authorization." This deletes the RSA key generated for USB debugging authorization from the phone itself, previously you had to do this from the computer side.
- Pressing menu in the phone app, lets you now add two-second pauses in your dialing string (denoted by a comma) or longer waits (denoted by a semicolon.)
- In the Settings of the phone app, you can now enable dial-pad autocomplete and change DTMF (dual-tone, multi-frequency) tone lengths.
- Of course there's the new camera app.
- Long, multi-word SSID names now wrap properly down to a second line in the quick-settings pulldown.
- When you take a screenshot and share it via email, the Subject field is automatically populated with the date and time of the shot.

New version added, only 197 mb in zip. See download section...
_________________________________________________________________________________________________
Here is my tribute to Cyanogenmode team and their great success in creating lightning speed roms.
This rom is based on my Aoba Pure Black, but instead of the original size of 390 mb, this version has only 240 197 mb in zip. This is as close to CM roms (190 mb) as possible. I believe this is the first stock based rom of this size. In addition to removing usual Google/Social/Sony bloat, I took great care to get rid of literally hundreds of unnecessary files in framework and lib directories. As a result, the rom is (in my view, of course) as fast, fluid and ram available, as CM roms, but with the added benefit of good battery life. Your Android OS won't take more than 4-6% of battery life. At the same time, the rom has all the usual and latest Xperia Z1 features: honami framework/icons/animation.
The idea was to improve on something that is hard rock stable, as opposed to doing Kitkat, which is ages away from stability on the part of Google and the development community without negating the latter's great work.
DESCRIPTION:
1. Fully deodexed, rooted, busyboxed, debloated (3rd party GAPPS still work), black themed version.
2. Based on JB 4.1.2/.96 version ported by me
3. Honami Framework with fully black UI including Phone, Contacts, Calendar, Clock, Calculator, Home (7 icons), Quick Settings, Volume Panel et al
4. CPU Control, Led Control, SMS Counter and OEM Dock in Settings
5. Apollo player and CM file manager
6. AOSP lock screen with new vertical animation
7. Nexus Camera with all resolutions (no stock camera)
8. Only 240 197 mb in size (zipped)
9. On first start about 375-385 mb of ram available
10. Regular boot is under 30 seconds
11. Blue themed dynamic boot animation
12. Ready to go APN settings for many countries
CREDITS: Niabok and JJwrongJJ for Honami Framework, Hitfan for 7 icon Home, Avik6123 for latest Z1 apps, CM team for Apollo, CM File manager and APN settings. PM me if I forgot you.
INSTALL INSTRUCTION
1. Have 211 JB stock kernel, Roger Baseband (if your have LT28i or AT&T versions) and CWM
2. Enter recovery, go to Mounts and Storage, mount System/Cache/Data and format each. Remember, factory reset is not enough!
3. Install the rom, reboot and let it settle
4. Go to Settings/Display/Quick Settings and choose Quick Settings for black, as opposed to SystemUI for white
5. Enable Wifi/Data, then go to Settings/Wifi/Advanced and tick stay on when screen is off, if you use VOIP services
6. Install CWM and you are all set
7. Enjoy the rom and hit Thank you/Donate or both

No problems to report. Spent a few minutes testing everything and loving it so far. Thanks so much for this awesome rom.
the T-9 functionality is missing in the dialer. Is it possible to enable it or do you recommend another app?
Perfect rommm

Try the attached...
Unzip (don't flash), manually move to system/apps with right permissions and reboot.

Stamina causes more problems than benefits. That's why I removed it.

You don't have to turn off led control. Just go there and configure it the way you want...

Small Apps: try the attached. Unzip (don't flash) and manually transfer to system/apps with correct permissions. There is no guarantee they will work, as I might have removed support for them. If they don't work, just delete them...

I am running CM10 right now. Perhaps someone else could post a few pictures?
I have a problem enabling the "double tap to wake" feature in cyanogenmod 11 snapshot m5, the code provided on the forums thread (post 2 i think) throws an error and i also can't find the file s2w_allow_double_tap in /sys/android_touch/ whereas other files e.g. those needed for swipe2wake are there. I also can't create a file there, the filemanager says it can't find the file/folder (??)
Does someone have a solution/ any ideas?

There no doubletap2wake feature in stock cm kernel. Use custom kernel if u want that. And no..u can't create that file just like that.

Okay i thought it would be as they are providing the code in the official post... But anyways, du you have any kernel suggestions that will give me decent performance, good battery life (i'm barely getting to 2hrs screen time right now) and dt2w?

Try all available...[emoji12] choose which suit best. Most custom kernel have dt2w. For cm rom...only lyapota, next, faux @ xmister compatible. Ask in kernel thread if encounter any issue.
