I installed Provision before activating the phone. I paid for plan online, it's asking me to press the activate button (there is none in the Provision ROM). Was I suppose to have data before I installed the ROM? Am I screwed and do I have to go back to stock to use data?
Posting this here because I dont have enough privileges to post in the Provision thread.
You will need to go back to stock to activate. After that, you can flash your Rom again.

I have unlimited gps usage included in my plan. Telenav works on stock but when I downloaded it after flashing sfr1.1.1 it says I have to pay to use it.
Is there a fix to this? The all-knowing sprint reps wanted to just reset my phone.

uninstall telenav.
Install SDX app remover from here
From this post, download the EC05 package.
Extract the contained system_apps.zip\apps\system\SN28-1100-sprint-signed.apk
Place SN28-1100-sprint-signed.apk into your sdcard under "\sdx\backup\app\"
Run the SDX app. go to manage backups, select SN28-1100-sprint-signed.apk, and hit the restore button.
you must allow root access every time SDX asks for it.
This will give you the old sprint nav app that will update itself to telenav.
or pm me your email address. I have the free telenav that it upgrades to on my phone. I even accidentally downloaded it like 3 times.
does anyone know how to get visual voicemail working sense 3.5? And im not talking about restoring a working version from TB, what i need is for it to provision i think thats the key for it to actually work. a third party app is ok but i prefer sprint's.
im looking for the same solutions but cant find the answer yeat
It's posted all over the place, ffs.
Go to the Blazing Roms thread (Fearmede, etc) click on attachments and look for VVM that I attached.
Put it on your SD Card.
Nandroid back to an earlier Sense ROM or the Stock Rooted ROM if you were savvy enough to make one. Use Titanium Backup to back up VVM.
Go back to your current setup. Use Root Explorer, et al to install the VVM app. Use titanium Backup to restore data only.
Open VVM, compose a message to yourself.

Best way to fix it
This way might take some time but it is worth it.
Restore or Flash a ROM that has VVM working
Make sure that it also has sprint zone too (That helps too if you ever have a billing issue)
The install titanium back up App that is free on the market (I am guessing your phone is rooted)
Open up titanium back up
Look through the apps that you should back up - ( I think it is Voicemail and Sprint Zone)
Back up with data.
The reflash the rom that you want
Install titanium back up
Remove all sprint zone and Voicemail Data that you have (under titanium Backup)
Install with data Sprint zone and Voicemaill that you backed up
********Don't go uninstall crazy some apps you need in your phone and will cause damage to it*************

ok gonna try that in a min. but heres what i did
copy the vvm.apk to sys/app and installed it, used tb to restore the data, hadnt provision yet. so i sent a message to [email protected] and it finally provision, lol, still doesnt work. so i went to settings>call> under voicemail "clear voicemail notification" would that be the problem? also when i use youmail all of my latest voicemail are loaded, cant figure out why third party apps work but not stock
I never seen it say it was provisioning it when I used it on Fusion, but it worked. I got all my VM's.
The only time I ever actually get a message that it's provisioned is on MIUI

i know its not my phone cuz it work on shooter and rainyday rom, cant figure it out
I know... it's tethering, not teething, lol.
SHG-I747 AT&T
Installed JB 4.1.1 via Kies
Installed CW Recovery - pulled batter - installed Team Epic Root
All Good
Installed Titanium Backup Pro
Uninstalled Tethering Provision (to disable check for AT&T Tethering Plan)
Unisntalled Bloatware per list in first post of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1728126
Not realizing the Tethering toggle was built-in to Settings > Advanced > Tethering I downloaded WiFi Tethering for Root, wouldn't show up on network selecting Auto and S3 profiles.
Try a couple others (supposedly not requiring root), one crashed "stopped working" when launching but SSID showed up on network and blue tether icon showed up in status bar. Another launched without crashing, blue icon in status bar. Both I can connect to via my Windoes 8 computer but get a status of "Limited" with no Internet access. Apps on phone show the computer is connected.
Here's the major problem. If I just uninstall all the tethering apps and go into Settings > Advanced > Tethering and try to toggle wifi or USB tethering the settings app itself crashes "settings app has stopped working"
I did a TB backup of the apps prior to all this, but then did another TB backup late last night. So that tethering provisioning things can't restored as it appears, at least default, the TB backup overwrites the previous backup instead of making an incremental backup.
I'm at a loss what to do. This is my first Android device. The Sys Admin gut in me says I need to start from scratch (reinstall stock ROM, reinstall CW recovery.. bla bla bla.) But not sure how to even do that (can I even use Kies now that CW recovery is on there or do I need to find the stock rom file and copy to the internal memory and use CW recovery or use Odin to flash stock ROM - hoping I don't need to reflash ROM, will take forever to reinstall my apps and settings in trying to solve Tether crash!)
In desperate need of some advice.
Soultion is a newer hacked version of Wifi Tether for Rooted user that is not on the Play Store and the apk has to be downloaded directly. Current version is here:

What a pain in the ass it took to finally find this. The problem is all the posts and methods out there essentially became defunct when the JB 4.1.1 update came out a few days ago yet you still have users unknowingly recommending the same methods because they were still on ICS. Guess that's the price you pay when you are brand new to Android and an OS update comes out two weeks after you got your phone and you install it the day it comes out. Sigh.
Ugh. Got too excited too quick. You can't toggle Wifi back on after shutting down tethering without restarting phone! Guess it's going to be a few more days until some good developers come out with a simple one-app solution without issues. It was WAY easier to get free tethering on the jailbroken iPhone that this. I'm shocked this is so hard right now on Android JB 4.1.1. But I have to remember the OS update just came out.
im wanting to do the update to ZVD, mostly to get rid of the notification!
but id rather not have to do a full wipe, and start all over again ( i hate loosing my texts!) but i have twrp and the hotspot mod.
i think i can go back to stock recovery with a recovery image i downloaded, but the hotspot mod is the only thing i need to figure out how to reverse.
ive read to just replace with the stock files, but i dont have the stock files.
any info will help. ive searched, but theres just too much to look through on the update, rcovery and hotspot, that i figured it would be faster to just ask. i was hoping there would be a flashable zip at some point, but doesnt look like it,
thanks for all help!

If all you care to do is get rid of the notification, tap and hold on the notification, tap on "App Info" and uncheck "Show notifications." This will block the update notification.
As far as losing text messages and such, use Helium to back up your device's app data, WiFi settings, Dictionary, Messages, and Call Log. If you use the Helium Server it will create a "backup.zip" on your computer so that after you reset the phone, just install Helium, run the server, and restore the apps. As far as hotspot mod, I have no idea, sorry. Hope this helped anyways. If you have any questions let me know.
Just switched to Sprint Note 4 and OTA to lollipop the the next day. I am completely stock and would like direction on wi-fi tether and a way to get rid of all the bloteware. Thank in advance.

From what ive found from another thread:

The only think you need ahead of time is your MSL. This isn't too hard to get from Sprint customer service. I got mine via an app called MSL Utility, which it seems now crashes every time I try to use it on Lollipop.
The steps:
Go to Dialer and enter ##DATA# (##3282#)
Press "Edit" then enter your MSL.
Click on APN Settings
For both "APN2 EHRPD internet" and "APN2 LTE internet" change APN Type from "default, mms" to "default, mms, dun"
After you enter the change, hit Menu -> Save before going to the next APN."
However seems like they changed it with the new lollipop update so that you cant go in and find your msl number, I even tried to find it with terminal emulator after being rooted and couldnt find it. Should be noted though that you can supposedly find your msl on a lower android. If you by chance call in to get this number write it down and keep it safe as doing a prl update will put it back to normal and lose this function
However If you are rooted download Galaxy tools and it will work perfect. Plus you will have the option to get all of your quick notification toggles like wifi hotspot and data if you so wish with the .apk
Galaxy Tools
For your debloating you can just uninstall the apps you dont want and disable the others that wont go away so that they wont update or show up in your app drawer.
If you are rooted you can use this System app remover (ROOT)
good luck
I guess next question would be what is the safest way to root and what is needed.

For me the safest and easiest way was to use skipsofts' Unified Android Toolkit. I personally choose this as it finds and downloads all the latest files and drivers and just prompts you with options as well as clear instructions on what to do next. You also have an option to inject a custom recovery and backup too. Im lazy and let it organize my files for me
If you feel pretty confident you can do search the interwebs for the latest odin and chainfire tar Put your phone into download mode (power down and boot back up holding down the volume ↓ + pwr + menu button) make sure auto reboot is ticked along with f. reset in odin plug in your phone then go to the pda/ap spot and locate that tar file. Hit start and let it run. It should take only like 30 seconds or so. Aftwards power your phone go to supersu and update the binaries. Later flash a custom recovery like twrp or clockwork if you care to flash more things later.
Thats a pretty quick run down of how to do it. If you want more details you can always google it
EDIT: It should be noted that rooting will trip KNOX
