[Q] Ubuntu Port??? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Wondering if anyone will port it to our device to see how it will run since we have CM10.1 and that is a requirement for it to actually run.

Search next time please.

Android on Universal

Android is a new open source mobile operating system that Google developed and an SDK has just been made available.
It would be great to see this ported to the Universal if its possible.
I don't see why it would not run since the Universal can already run Linux (to some extent) and Android is just based on that. Whether and to what extent the hardware can be supported is another question that only our programmers can answer. As we can surely count HTC out on supporting their legacy devices it might not be worth anybodies time in the end.
SDK for Android would not help at all. It is just a set of headers and import libraries. To port something to a device you need complete source codes of its kernel, software, etc. Even more - we don't know hardware requirements for Android. It may require the NOR flash to run from it - and we don't have it on our device at all.

Nobody uses NOR these days, it's too expensive and provides no real
benefit over NAND. The XIP days are over.
I hate java with passion, but i don't see any reason why Android software
will not be running on the universal.
Any news? I mean: can Universal run an Android ROM?
I saw something on tytnII, is there an hope?
can anyone confirm if android requires a customised hardware or minimum requirements....
By The Looks Of It I Shouldnt See Why Not...
I Saw That Video Of It On The Tytn And It Looks Like Its Just A Linux Based Kernel Booting Though Haret.
Theirs Already Some Pretty Good Progress With Linux On The UNI And I Dont See Why It Shouldnt Be Possible To Patch This Up. (Wish I Could But Im Not A Linux Coder )
maybe something like this
(click on the emote)
could be done for univ.

Any news on this?
I'm thinking of getting a universal but i'm gathering info on it atm!
Has anyone been able to get some real progress on this matter?
I installed this onto my main memory, but when I run it I get a blank screen and the phone vibrates continuously, what am I doing wrong? I think this version is supposed to work on the Universal.

i also tried to install android on my universal, but it didn't work at all, i only had a black sreen and it vibrate without stopping. if someone has an idea, or a new thread were we can find out a running android os for uni... i take it !
Very keen on this
Is there a project? .. I'm a developer and would be willing to assist, but i haven't got enough experience with these devices to start the project off myself...
Count me in as a beta tester
It would be great to have Android on Uni!!
So this news means that very soon developers can start working on android to be ported on other devices!!!

[Q] About dhd usb host!!

did they stopped developing with the function,
i want to make it go on ,is there any idea? how can i begin
i have c c++ asm experiences. but it's the first time for android what do i need to learn.i am a noob in linux!!!
I was very excited about the USB-Host development, but was disappointed to find that the instructions no longer worked - the device rejected the boot image...
Though it would be nice to contact the developer for some advice or to offer help, it seems we're restricted to posting here?
OK, so I've realised that the Devs are actually doing something far more interesting - it requires a bit more work, but you can run ubuntu with usb-host support by following the steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045910

Xperia PLAY USB Host

Hello, apologies if there is an existing answer for this, believe me I have tried searching.
From what I can gather the Xperia PLAY doesn't have USB host support. Am I correct in this? I assume the ICS upgrade won't change things?
HOWEVER I'm informed the Live Dock (not the DK3000) adds USB Host support to all 2011 Xperia Handsets, however, I can't find any reliable information as to if the Xperia PLAY works with that or not.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
USB Host is possible with 3.1 and over.
Release 3.1. : 10.05.11
Release 2.3.4 : 29.4.11
You understand what i want to say.?
Its only possible with custom Kernel or Maybe with ICS.

[Q] Can we port this to our device ?

I think it'll be usefull to get that on our device

[Q] can anyone show how to edit the size of partitions of the Xperia S

first of all, hi everyone who's reading this
i'm interested in the Android 6.0 AOSP build, for example by billchen1977 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-s/s-development/pure-aosp-lollipop-t2940839).
but it says that i need to change the size of some partitions and something like p14 and whatsoever.
and to be honest, i don't know where and how to start.
so does anybody have time to tell me how to do this ?
i already looked up on a few forums and looked it also up on google, but either the downloadlink of some applications for the pc aren't available anymore or the tutorial is not suitable with the XS or it's done via pc-connection, but the pc has to run on linux (my pc is currently running on Win10).
if anyone's interested, feel free to give me advice
