CarbonRom - Unofficial - 4.2.2
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. The team is composed of former members of Team Liquid who have forked the code in an attempt to bring greater speed,
better coding, and full authorship to code. We are in no way affiliated with Liquid0624. The rom was forked at Liquid beta 3.2.1 and has since undergone major code changes and modifications.
Please note that on some devices the kernel is not yet linaro compiled.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device,
family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!
If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Re: [DEV][ROM][4.2.2] CarbonRom - 2/22/2013
So far everything looks clean on this rom overall. A couple things I noticed though.
1. Calendar app isnt installed with the base packages. Had to install through the play store.
2. The toggle option for the torch is present in the power widget but is greyed out and can't be selected.
3. Like all the other ROMs it has issues with the correct time. Setting timezones manually fixes this issue though.

Did you use titanium backup for Facebook? If you did that's probably the reason for it. Try clearing data, installing and manually set it up

I was just wondering if the xposed mods are not meant to work. Whenever I try to get into the xposed mod part of the settings menu, settings just crashes. I miss the dual pane settings from PACman, so I'd love to be able to only change the DPI for the settings app.
It's too bad this rom seems to have died. I really enjoyed it. If you see this greatergood, I hope whatever is going on is alright, and I appreciate the effort you put into these projects.

SpareParts (thanks ihtfp69 for fixing the aosp package)
Included kernel is stock (so as to not break signing)
BAMF is now using private signing keys. This means other system mods from other devs will not work with this rom, most likely, unless signed with our key. This was a necessary evil to make the rom more secure. It will help prevent a malicious application from gaining system control and getting access to sensitive data. Themers and modders that work with the team can contact us for these private keys. We cannot allow for public availability for obvious reasons, however. For those we do give the keys to, if they are leaked, we will simply change the key and give nobody access. So please respect our wishes to keep them private. The signing of this rom and apps MAY require a wipe to properly install.
Changelog, kernel:
----------
Overclocked to 1.35ghz, with stock speed steps.
Defaults to 1.2ghz
Tweaked deadline and CFS
charging while off works (Thanks Fabolous, Bixie)

Before I wipe everything to try this, is there any control provided over the search widget on the home screen? I know I'm in the minority, but I really like having it and don't want to give it up. I'd flash a mod over it to bring back the stock launcher, but by the sound of things, it looks like I can't with these private key files.

Have a bug to report?
Now track the status of your issue on -
http://bugtracker.liquidsmooth.net

Quick Tips:
◘ Make sure you do a Full Wipe and then flash the ROM.
◘ DO NOT restore data via Titanium Backup. More often than not it will cause stupid issues.
◘ If you have done all that, and still face issues please post a logcat. (Search on how to do that)
◘ For battery related issues, please post a relevant screenshot from an app like Better Battery Stats etc.
No logcat or no screenshot effectively means your issue doesn't exist

This thread is not for sprint must have been posted here by mistake correct me if I'm wrong just make sure the ROM your downloading is d2spr rc8.
go i need fo flash gapps
as smccall said, this isn't for sprint. it helps to pay attention to what you're clicking on...
Mods, please move this thread to the appropriate section, I think leaving it here will cause someone to download it and install it on their phone
People are people and do what people do
Thanks for taking this into consideration
what's funny is 4 people thanked him in the first post, and 2 people thanked him in the second!
OP and title edited. If on MetroPCS and have issues please PM the developer or post here.
as stated, d2mtr is metro pcs only. this forum is the best place for it, just like us cellular lives in the verizon section.
Sprint users should flash d2spr. we are aware of several issues with this build, especially with our launcher and widgets. we recommend flashing rc7 gapps or another gapps package as they are rom independent.
at this time we are working hard on 4.2 builds, and hope to have some early builds available soon!
Do you have a link for rc7 gapps?

It's expected that all AOSP ROMs will have at best the same keyboard support as is in dman's 10.1 currently. Meaning: Sym, voice search, and .com don't work, but everything else does, except there's an issue with shift/alt and certain apps.
whats the camera issue ?
Guess who's in the wrong thread again.
Can someone reproduce the Google Search crash on this ROM too, for the sake of completeness?

the greater good, just out of curiosity will there be an AOKP version of version 4.2.1 as well. Do you have plans to develop that or D man is the only one developing the CM 10.1. I am more interested in the version 4.2.1 due to the fact that i am blind and rely more on the accessibility improvements in that version. So i have two captivate glides, i do plan on flashing a rom as long as i know that the physical keyboard is working on any of these roms as far as doing what i need to do. as far as the alt and shift keys goes, has that been mapped and do they work on any of the JB roms.
ill look into it...
Alright DMAN put together AOKP 4.2.1 hammered out most the issues for me the and will give source to continue work on it ... enjoy

Omni is a community-based project for the Android community which is Free^3: Free to Use, Free to Modify, Free to Share. It's also about options, which is the beauty of Android - http://omnirom.org/
WARNING: This project is WIP and therefor has not (yet) all the features that are planned. Things will get better though. Omni is build against Android 4.3.1, so so you no more mobile disconnects. A rough progress of the features and bug fixes being added can be found here: https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/q/status:merged,n,z
As I don't own the device myself I can't test this, so please do yourself a pleasure and make a backup before flashing
The only things added to the standard Omni tree are the things needed to make it compile. And I cherry picked the Multiwindow feature. To use it go to recent apps -> long press -> add to multiwindow. Pressing home clears it
Anyway, here the link, it's on Google Drive (builddate 2013/10/29):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwNDN4ITQ7phRXhRVEVnLTBBRkk/edit?usp=sharing
The 'official' GApps (Google Play Store, GMail, Google+, etc):

or the xperimental GApps for Android 4.3 (thanks to BaNkS, follow his thread here):
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?a=show&w=files&flid=7775
Omni has not merged SuperSU yet so you'll have to add it yourself if you want root priviliges:
http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
If this is helpfull I'll try to update the builds every now and then until there are official nightly builds from the Omni team

Initial report: mobile data not working. I changed the network mode to lte/CDMA, to just CDMA and neither worked. (I did reboot between switches.) I don't know if its just me, but this is what happened.

Thanks for sharing, I too have been waiting for this to come to toro.
Happy to see a project like this one come along, kinda reminds me of the original droid days as far as the philosophy behind it.
And an impressive line up of devs from what I saw in the articles I read.

Yep, I noticed. Technically it works, but you need to enter the APN yourself, the build uses the GSM APN list instead of the CDMA one. I uploaded a new version, see OP. Please test and let me know it this is working
Def NO mobile data working at all on this toro version.

New version posted on OP. This build is based on Android 4.3.1 now, so old disconnects fron 4.3 should be history on Omni too now
Solid ROM, have been using it daily since it popped up. Fast and smooth plus multi window has been very useful. Thx for sharing!

I didn't have mobile data at first either.had to toggle from CDMA to LTE/CDMA before it finally kicked in. It hasn't disconnected since though. Overall this is a very stable ROM with no random reboots so far. I have installed nexuslouder and quite a few xposed modules. Everything runs fine
Which GAPPS did you install?
