I was reading about ubuntu in nexus devices, and i read that porting ubuntu for other devices will be similar to build CM10.1. So,, what do you think? it will be possible in the glide? I dont know too much about porting roms, so, if a developer can say something, that can be great

Ok this a call out to all you rom devs!
Some bloody good work going on there.....but...can any of you port these onto the Salsa?
some of you have.....we need more...i look at your rom lists and im sobbing lol
so far we have bens sense....M1nds 2.1/3.5 sense and 2 of our very own roms... Iconic & Iconic S.
Please note...we do not have a working kernel......jmz & ben know about this and have worked closely in resolving this...
we just need more...
I normally test roms out before release on our units as i know what im doing...so u will get feedback in appropriate manner lol...
Any help please post here or mail me.....
surely one of you guys............
Have you heard of Chocolate & Coffee? That's my ROM. Very basic. I would port it, but I'd need some advice on how to do so properly. Maybe when my kernel comes out, I might release a version for Salsa, if requested.

You can use porting tools in kitchen to port sense roms......They just come out like butter!! I've done this to create my own salsa port.....so,i think the same can be done..
Try it!!

Tested. I am in love.

the offical source was out, trying to get 3g on all GSM S3 devices
Just curious, didn't know if there was any interest in this or if anybody else had looked into it. it should be doable now that we have S-Off and can unlocked bootloaders. Has anyone else attempted a port yet for the m7vzw or would anyone be interested in seeing one and/or helping with one. I'm pretty limited in my knowledge of the subject, but would be willing to toss my hat in the ring to try and help out if there's any interest.
I would be on board for trying to port. I can ask some guys to see if they would help.

Sweet, I'm looking into it myself to see how much of a challenge it would be, I know there seems to be some issues with 4.3 on our device, but we don't have a cm10.1 kernel we can use, so I don't know how much that'll hurt us.

Sounds like a plan.
Someone has already done some of the work for this:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Devices/M7
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2388593
I've actually run through the installer and it works, but only in the basic sense. No cell or data connections and it randomly crashes and reboots the phone.

The cell or data connection problem is likely because that build is for the AT&T and T-MO M7. Not the VZW M7.

I would be very pleased to see this done. I would be willing to test, if testers are needed. I won't be much for helping unfortunately as I am not skilled in porting as of yet, but would be glad to support.
Where is it? Has anyone begun work on building it for the M919?

All I know is I couldn't get it far enough to pull a logcat. I don't even know where to start trying to debug as the code compiled just fine and everything flashed.. I can't even get any insight as to what to try because my posts seem to be ignored in the pretty much dead ubuntu os forum.. I just gave up.

That's really annoying. Maybe we just have to wait for Ubuntu to pick up the slack and see what they have in store for us?

Its hard mate.... im by no means a rom builder. I need to learn all the process and its sooooo long without a decent internet connection.
Google "learn to build android roms" and build a couple of roms from scratch to learn a few bit and work on that.
