I have couple of question regarding updating the firmware.
Currently running ProjectRom Ultralight 2.7 LK8 and by far it's one of my favorite rom. No complains with the rom but I'd like to update the Firmware.
Now here is the question, if I update the All in one Firmware (t3project) and want to use the LK8 rom should I be expecting issues?
2nd question, has anyone done the all-in-one ma7 update and if so what do you think?
Thank you in advance

So, the All-in-one states that LJC-MA7 but I'm on Lk8. do I have to downgrade 1st before flashing?

I think LJC is newer then LK8 but not positive.
You can always try flashing it. Just make a nandroid. If it doesn't work then restore and upgrade to LJC first.
Also if you use titanium backup you can restore all of your apps, settings, and messages on your new rom using the the "Extract from Nandroid backup" feature.
Its really nice, although it takes forever to do.

Thanks you for writing but LJC is older than LK8 and I don't believe nandroid would backup Firmware or modem.

Anyone comin from the Epic 4g Touch should know what this is. For those who don't, its a full stock tar with root loaded in an executable one-click package. This will not add to the custom flash count.
LJ7 Jellybean
There are two versions of Jellybean LJ7. One will wipe all data including internal SD. Performing a factory reset in recovery is recommended prior to use unless you're flashing the version that wipes data. If you are coming from a ICS touchwiz based rom and flashing Jellybean, the factory reset is probably not needed. Just wipe cache/dalvik if there are any issues.
Flash Count Reset Edition
These are unrooted and will NOT wipe data. These will reset your custom flash count before rebooting into the system. Each storage capacity will have its own one click. Be sure to pick the one that corresponds to your phone's storage capacity. YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE IF YOU PICK INCORRECTLY. Wiping data prior to flashing is recommended.
LEN/LI3 ICS
There are two ICS versions as well. LI3 and the original LEN. Neither of these will wipe data. Doing a factory reset is a must if you are downgrading from jellybean.
Note that the stock recovery will wipe your internal storage too. This is why I recommend wiping beforehand so you can use cwm/twrp and preserve your internal sd.

Thank you so much! Your setup fixed my otherwise bricked GS3 (black screen blue LED)!
Can the no data wipe version be flashed over a current stock non-rooted LJ7 build? This is how the old sfhub ones worked. Just double checking before I go through with it.

Where you running a different ROM before 4.3 rooted? Rebooting can be caused by several things like dirty flashing or not wiping correctly.

The only true way to fix this is to learn to pull a logcat. Then get the dev to see if he can figure out what's going on. Since its a rebooting issue, logcat apps are useless. You have to use ADB from a computer, and issue commands so the computer will record logcats throughout the rebooting process. I would try a clean wipe, fresh install 1st.

I'm not clear on what you are trying to say. Do you mean you are on 4.3 MK3 Rom, and want to flash back to a 4.1.2 MD4 Rom?
So this isn't really a problem for me yet, but yesterday I tried to flash MK3 with odin while on Stock ND8 because I was worried about having L710VPUDND8 which I got from here as a download, when the version Sprint is suppost to be rolling out is L710VPUCND8. Not sure why the OTA would differ from the one I got here, but anyways I tried flashing back to MK3 so I could just get the update when it was pushed to my cell and the flash failed after it got to the "aboot" part. Im wondering if this is because the version I have is higher then the version I want? And is there any way to circumvent this and go back to MK8. Also does anyone have any information about the difference between PUCND8 and PUDND8? Im worried because I want to make sure I get future updates such as 4.4.3 which Im sure they will come out with. So as you see its not really a problem right now, but could become one in the future possibly.

DO NOT ODIN MK3 IF YOU ARE ON ND8, flash a custom ROM if you wanna go to MK3, do not flash the firmware, and I doubt there will be anymore updates. This won't work because the Knox Bootloader won't let you downgrade your firmware and you can easily brick your device trying to do so.

No you can't downgrade to MK3 firmware you will brick. Knox won't allow it. Install a custom recovery, flash an MK3 ROM if that's what you want, but you can't go back to factory MK3.

Okay, then the only thing left to ask is if you know of what the difference between PUCND8 and PUDND8 is? That is really my main concern. I just wanted to go back to mk3 to get the OTA update from sprint instead of from the zip file I downloaded from here. Could it be that Sprint made a mistake on their website showing L710PUCND8 when the version is actually PUDND8?

The PUC is based on Sprint's official OTA source code. PUD is based on Samsung source code for all Sprint devices (Virgin Mobile, Boost, etc). That is the only difference from what I understand.

Flashing the modem again did nothing to fix.
One question before I flash the stock ROM, will I need to do anything besides flashing? I'm not sure how it goes, since it is an older version (4.0.3 I believe?).
I know I need to do it in Odin, but nothing else besides that. Flashing an AOSP ROM after that won't be a problem?
Sorry for the questions, just wanna make sure before trying this out.
I just rooted my wife's Sprint Galaxy S3 (d2spr) and managed to install Cyanogenmod 10. Back when we were on another carrier, I had installed later versions of the ROM, but only after a LOT of reading. Running the latest CWM, running the latest TWRP, doesn't matter. I cannot install later versions. The wiki says:
WARNING: Firmware update notice
CM10.1 and newer are not compatible with ICS bootloaders on this device. Update your device's firmware or you will get assert failures in recovery.
That is exactly my problem, but how do I perform this firmware update? I hope it's not an issue of reverting to stock, because Knox was enough trouble to overcome. I referred to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787677 to update the baseband, which just stopped the phone from connecting to towers.
What am I missing? Where do I get this firmware? Once updated, will I then be able to avoid further Status 7 errors? (Editing the updater-script every time seems like a hoaky band-aid when one has downloaded the exact, correct, tailor-made ROM.) Thanks a lot to the community. I've learned everything I know from these forums, and I felt like I had hit enough of a dead end to ask for help.
I think you would have to odin a stock jb .tar, NOT KITKAT and then you reroot and flash whatever rom you want. Some of your concerns might be alleviated if you use tibu and back-up apps to an external sd, as well as nandroid to an external sd.
Edit: CNexus or Freeza might have their stock .tars for jb versions around here, they even come rooted too
Edit 2: This thread might have what you need: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1910947
I suggest waiting until someone else confirms though (but if I'm right you'll want the link that says "firmware/modem/baseband update", the 5th link)

Hold the phone! (Pun intended) There are two context clues in your op that lead me to believe that you should under no circumstances flash any firmware found in that firmware thread linked here.

If you have Knox your bootloader cannot be downgraded.

I referred to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1787677 to update the baseband, which just stopped the phone from connecting to towers.

The only time I've personally witnessed this behavior is on the ND8 bootloader. If you don't know which bootloader you're on already you would be wise to find out before flashing any firmware file.
You've all given good advice, but the best advice came too late. The phone no longer powers on because of the baseband update I was attempting. I'm now waiting for a MicroSD card to show up so that I can attempt this:
