Where you running a different ROM before 4.3 rooted? Rebooting can be caused by several things like dirty flashing or not wiping correctly.

The only true way to fix this is to learn to pull a logcat. Then get the dev to see if he can figure out what's going on. Since its a rebooting issue, logcat apps are useless. You have to use ADB from a computer, and issue commands so the computer will record logcats throughout the rebooting process. I would try a clean wipe, fresh install 1st.

What was the app you installed, then unistalled ? Did the issue start immediately after installing the app ? Or after removing it ?

I take it you are running CNexus Stock Rooted 4.3 ? You could try dirty flashing the same Rom you were on when the issues began.
Prboy so flash the mk4 to mk3 again correct ?

I'm not clear on what you are trying to say. Do you mean you are on 4.3 MK3 Rom, and want to flash back to a 4.1.2 MD4 Rom?

I recently got a Samsung Epic 4G Touch and immediately flashed the system to ICS, using SFHub's stock rooted FF18.
Phone works great with that rom. But I was trying to apply Kobridge's tweak pack and discovered that recovery is not letting me install .zip files.
I reboot into recovery fine, and can choose "apply update from sd card .zip" fine. I can navigate to the file fine. When I select it though, it immediately switches to an android bot lying down, with its hood open and a red triangle above it.
I then have to pull the battery to re-boot the phone. It boots into normal startup fine, but the tweak has not been applied.
I tried several versions, and other zips, and it doesn't seem to want to let me install anything that way.
Ideas? I'd rather not have to put CWM on the phone or a different rom on the phone just yet.
That is because the install update zips are for official sprint/Samsung upgrades. To flash those you need CWM.

You're going to need CWM or another custom recovery to flash anything on your phone
Now I feel like an idiot. I thought the version I got had a working recovery in it, but you're right - it didn't.
I installed Agat's and it's working fine now.
Thanks for the help!

ROOTED Verizon GS4 & Safestrap ROM install ERROR
Good day everyone!
I seem to have bumped into a problem im hoping someone on here can possibly help with.
I successfully rooted my Verizon Galaxy S4 on ME7 and got safestrap installed. I followed all the steps correctly then
I downloaded the Hyperdrive ROM but when I get to the install step for the ROM, it gives me a error saying "The zip cannot be flashed " or something of that matter. Anyone know a way to fix this or work around it?
Anyones help is truly appreciated.

Even though you're in the wrong forum... It sounds like a bad download, try redownloading the ROM.

Howdy.
1st - Don't forget that we have Sections and placing your post in the right one would probably lead to a faster response.. Epic 4G Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.
*edit* Mod moved from General.
2nd - Can you give us a run down on your flashing process? Would save a bunch of questions.
Sorry for posting in the wrong section..when I flash I do a wipe data, wipe cache and wipe dalvik. Then install..never had a problem before.

If memory serves me correctly, KIES should be able to update it. Check and see if you're d/l'ing and update by checking for an update manually in settings. But I'm pretty sure KIES will get you there as well.

Its been about 2 weeks now and I am still having this problem. One day while I was a school I felt my phone really hot in my pocket. and it was off. When I truened it back on the battery was only 20% and then I could not find any wifi networks. It used to work for about 30 seconds when I restarted the phone, but now it does not even do that. Any help?! This is pretty bad.

A modem is what controls your phones communication with the internet and voice and data... Pretty important. Go to Settings/About Phone and flash the one that matches the last four characters in your Baseband (like GB27 for example)-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1764210

Flashing a custom ROM or doing a factory reset won't mess with your cricket flash, although you will have to follow directions in this thread to get back working MMS and 3g (if you flash an AOSP or CM-based ROM... 3g should work out of the box on stock-based).

So far I've read these suggestions:
-- Flash new Kernel
-- Flash stock rooted ROM then flash back
Any thoughts?
I am currently on Task's Latest (6-28) ROM, but have been experiencing this on previous ones (4.4.3 + 4.4.2).

Task's latest is 7-9 I believe.
That being said, Is your phone unlocked?
Also, does your baseband match your bootloaders?

Flashing the modem again did nothing to fix.
One question before I flash the stock ROM, will I need to do anything besides flashing? I'm not sure how it goes, since it is an older version (4.0.3 I believe?).
I know I need to do it in Odin, but nothing else besides that. Flashing an AOSP ROM after that won't be a problem?
Sorry for the questions, just wanna make sure before trying this out.

Okay, you are most likely still stock kernel with recovery installed. Rooted no problem.
Recovery will break knock code unless you flash another kernel that has it.
Before doing anything, know that nobody really has a custom zvd Rom out right now. Artifesto put out a stock version.
You can easily go back to zvc which you lose knock code, art, and hd calling.
Super g2 Rom is fantastic and you can even go with their full Rom or bare back ( slimmed version)
To get recovery which will put a older kernel on it. Easiest way is to use auto-rec from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51857807
Read the first couple posts. Before running it and ask what you want from me.
This gets recovery running and fixes download mode. (Vital if something bad happens)
Please ask anything before doing something if not sure.

The only thing I am really wanting to do is bypass the wifi hotspot on the phone since Sprint has a block on it. Wasn't sure, I thought I read somewhere that there is a modication I can install to do that, but I didn't want to do it without talking with you first. Am I right there is one that would just be put the zip file on the phone? Then there were other steps but that is really what I am trying to get done so I can use it as a WIFI hotspot to pair with my tablet.
