Hi,
I am attempting to restore my HTC ONE X to the optus stock after having a JB custom ROM. I am using an nandroid backup for the CID Optus001 from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
When I try to restore the backup- my phone just gets stuck at either the Optus logo or the HTC one BeatsAudio splash screen. I've tried manually flashing boot.img in fastboot, wiping cache wiping all data, dalvik cache etc....
I have also tried to use the Optus RUU for ICS with no success.
I got this out of fastboot if it is of any help
(bootloader) version: 0.5a

That is really odd. Did you make a Nandroid backup before you flashed your custom ROM? You could try restoring that backup instead of the one you got from xda. You can flash the stock recovery separately if you need to.

Don't worry- I downloaded the older optus nandroid backup and it worked fine, must have been a bad file. Thanks anyway

You can't go back to stock with a RUU... you will have to restore a nandroid backup!
Check this thread and download a backup which matches your current base:

I cannot use TWRP because touch drivers won't work (on version 3.16 and higher) -> TWRP i unusable for me. So is there CWM HTC__102 nandroid backup, or I can use HTC__001 nandroid backup since both of them are for WWE?
So to downgrade to 3.14 I must use TWRP but touch screen doesn't work?
Yes you can ! Just DON'T relock the bootloader

They are not similar but the outcome is the same which is getting your phone to fully stock rom... with RUU it's easily done with few clicks of your mouse... but with a nandroid backup you have to everything manually...
Hi
I have a HTC One X and i'm trying to flash a stock rom after a failed custom rom flash.
I'm using the command fastboot flash zip firmware.zip but it's failing the signature check.

why are you flashing a firmware?
stop flashing the firmware zip
I have to go off for a while so I will leave instructions.
firstly get philz touch recovery from here>>>>>http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=16046#files and flash it in fastboot
next go here>>>>>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 and look for your cid, vodap102, and get the 3.14.161.27 nandroid. you can restore this backup from recovery and then ota up to the latest version. you will also need the stock 3.14 recovery which is further down the page after the nandroids.
follow the instructions on the page to restore, and don't forget to flash the boot.img that comes with the nandroid and then the stock recovery.
This of course is assuming you didn't make a backup of your own? if you did then flash that using the instructions in the nandroid thread above

Thanks. I did fastboot oem lock. I need the device unlocked right?
Sorry for the trouble.
ps: it says relocked.
Thanks
Yes, to flash anything except, ruu, you need to be unlocked. And you do not need to relock to receive ota. But you do need stock boot.img and stock recovery after flashing the nandroid
Press thanks if I helped you. Sent via XDA Premium 4
Thanks. I managed to install the rom but after booting, a screen to input the sim pin apears.
The problem is that the touchscreen doesn't work.
Edit: Nevermind i managed to solve it. Thanks for all the help

first you need to fully charge it then you need to unlock it again. then, if you haven't already got it, flash a custom recovery. do a full wipe from recovery then copy the 4.19.707.3 nandroid to backup/restore folder on the sdcard. flash the boot.img from the nandroid zip in fastboot then restore the nandroid from recovery. that should be it if you follow all steps and read the instructions in the nandroid thread

I have a htc one x (tegra3) stock rom rooted unlocked bootloader and s on. I am using CWM. Today, I tried to flash nextcpu kernel via fastboot. After that the phone booted up but was stuck in airplane mode. Searched on google for stock kernel, and flashed one, but that resulted in bricking my device. Tried restoring via nandroid backup, no success. Now I am stuck with no help! Also, my hboot got updated from 1.36 to 1.72. And I am not even able to access my device storage to pull my data somehow (tried the mount as usb storage on CWM, no results).

Oh yeah. My bad. I found the fix.
I had a nandroid backup on my pc which I made 3 months back. I extracted the boot.img and then flashed it via fastboot and erased the cache. Did the trick for me !!
