I read that "only stock touchwiz and stock recovery support exfat. AOSP and CWM most likely will never support it". Is this true? I would love to make a multi-hour 1080p video saved onto my external SD card (32GB) but know that FAT32 won't do that (it will stop the camera @ 4.2GB filesize).
I currently have Chemistry Rom (android 4.1.1, LJ7) with 3.0.31-329968 kernel installed) which didn't mount exFAT. If you have any suggestions, I would love to try them out.
Thanks!

As mentioned the only one you will find on XDA is stock kernel ATM.

I love my Galaxy S3 very much, just hate the bugs/battery drain/bloatware. The specific bug I dislike is the cell standby. I was just wondering what would be the daily driver/go to rom/kernel combination for AT&T?
AOKP, ktoon kernel do some research first. And don't post questions in that thread you will flamed

Ok. I have been doing research, but just wondering what the general public was going towards... There are so many choices. I also read the OP of their thread and that is why I posted the question here
Diet ics with kt Sammy kernel is popular

Ok so from stock non rooted, I flashed CWM and did a nandroid backup. Do I have to root before I try out task and Ktoonsez rom/kernel or can I just flash the zip from sd card and then the gapps?
need to root and install a ROM for a friend with an at&t GS3 that has apps2sd support(internal memory is completely full), and great battery life. what ROMs would work for me? thanks in advance!
Search first, ask questions later. The is a ROM with that in the title, which tells me you did not even care to search.

Was trying to teach him to search. He obviously didn't try at all.

did do a search for "apps2sd", it yielded the mod for the app2extsd2 (which needs a ROM with init.d support), and the nostalgia 8 ROM. thanks HRodMusic!
What's the best way to update PRL when on CM based ROM?
I think QPST but don't quote me on this, worked for me on my other phones.

Actually qpst doesn't work for our phones. Gta be cdma ws or DFS
On the NS4G you could dial *22805 and it would update PRL, *22803 was for profile. I had this option in my MIUI ROM but you may have to add SprintDM.apk and/or SprintAndroidExtension.apk from a stock TW based ROM

You have to use a computer. Only way while on AOSP. Otherwise keep the PRL's on the root of SD and flash between TW backups and CM backups. Time consuming but only way without computer.
I am familiar with rooting and rom, but only on Nexus devices. So I am looking to flash a custom rom on my wifes GS3, but want to confirm the next step.
I have rooted the device using CF auto root, i then installed TWRP via goo manager.
So can i just flash roms like normal now? Is the bootloader unlocked, or is that not involved with this device?
You can flash ROMs like normal.. Bootloader is already unlocked

If you want to flash custom ROMs like cm or aosp, you'll most likely have to update the bootloader. But if your just flash TW ROMs, you should be fine.

Thanks guys. Probably just TW Roms this way I don't confuse her. Her GS3 has just been running like crap lately so figured I'd wipe it and install something with less bloat.

Yea stick to touchwiz, it already includes a bunch of stuff that wasn't possible back on the GB days without root . I like the progression android has made with battery percentage etcc

Hi. I see alot of MGA roms for the T-Mobile S4 floating around here but I'm looking for a stock MGA rom with nothing changed. If I install one of the stock MGA rom that doesn't include the modem will everything still work on my tmo S4? Thanks
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 4
No.... you need a Tmobile based modem and kernel.
