Quick confirmation - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I am familiar with rooting and rom, but only on Nexus devices. So I am looking to flash a custom rom on my wifes GS3, but want to confirm the next step.
I have rooted the device using CF auto root, i then installed TWRP via goo manager.
So can i just flash roms like normal now? Is the bootloader unlocked, or is that not involved with this device?

You can flash ROMs like normal.. Bootloader is already unlocked

If you want to flash custom ROMs like cm or aosp, you'll most likely have to update the bootloader. But if your just flash TW ROMs, you should be fine.

Thanks guys. Probably just TW Roms this way I don't confuse her. Her GS3 has just been running like crap lately so figured I'd wipe it and install something with less bloat.

Yea stick to touchwiz, it already includes a bunch of stuff that wasn't possible back on the GB days without root . I like the progression android has made with battery percentage etcc

[HELP][SOLVED] back to Gingerbread. Thanks

Admin Please Delete the thread.
Sorry if I'm posting in wrong section.
Today I successfully installed Leaked OTA ICS update IMM26 on my NS4G. It's great but to my disappointment Flash based apps are not working properly. Some Flash based apps are working fine (e.g. Veetle) but many others, especially browsers, are not handling it well at all. The reason perhaps is that many apps haven't yet been optimized for ICS. I'm addicted to all these apps.
Please tell me if there is a way to downgrade to Stock Gingerbread.
NOTE: I have unlocked bootloader but unsuccessful in getting root because SU works up to 4.0.3 only.
Thanks everyone.

This belongs in questions and answers.
But there's a one click (not really one) restore to stock in this forum. I believe its using Odin.
Just look thru the threads and you'll find the instructions.

not sure why you thought this was development...
But yes you can... Just wipe (everything) then install a gb rom. That is if you just did a cwm install of ics.

what the ...

I rooted many phones in my life, I never had problems rooting a phone like this peace of ****!! does any one out there give a much easier link to root this crap?? Im currently on the latest version ics , or is there a way to revert back to GB like most HTC phones do?
Follow the stickied unbricking guide to get back to GB. If you want to return to official ICS use the CWM flashable version.
...and was there really a need for the swearing?
Rooting a phone with a locked bootloader isn't stuff to any n00b. It requires following huge tutorials or aknowlege to do it on their own.
This isn't a samsung galaxy for example.

Best root on the market today

Ive had my SGIII long enough now running on the stock rom. Iv decided that I want to root it now. I want to know which or who has the best root out there that will me the most bang? I haven't rooted an android phone since my captivate a few years back. The best part of that root is that it allowed me to teather without having to pay AT&T.

I've only ever seen one root and it's ChainFire's.

If you prefer the updated one without a recovery...

How to root D710BST

What is the best way to root the d710BST (Boost mobile) model of the phone? I have been looking around for a month now... I NEED help. I don't want the sprint bloatware though........
Easiest way to root is to use a one click. Get the bloat out by either using a rom that has it removed or by using titanium backup to remove bloat you dont want.

You should just use framaroot apk just google it, works perfect. Choose super su then choose aragon then reboot.

Are you asking about root for JB on the Boost variant? I have a guide that explains how to root your existing setup. It's basically the same for both Sprint and Boost. If you want to use a stock kernel after rooting just flash a Boost kernel for JB.

4.3 question

I have the T999 SG3 model, am rooted and currently running the Wicked v10 rom. I want to try out the 4.3 upgrade and was wondering what the best/safest way is to do this. I already did a nan backup. Do I need to unroot? Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.

You need to read the last 3 pages of this thread.
Seems that one you upgrade, there is no going back (for the time being).
Moved to Q&A
Edit:
No reason to have two threads about the same thing.
